    Great info with lots of details, thanks for doing this for us! When you're in the right lane, I can see you hit the laser very close to redline in 3rd gear which is 90+ mph since 3rd tops out at 96 mph. I think that's pretty damn fast! 👍

    amazing quality content. I've been waiting for this a while now, I appreciate your honesty and the fact that you always want to help others be better in terms of driving! I believe you covered the reason why you won't put headers yet on another video if I remember correctly, you stated that it is because you want to become a better driver. All that's left for me as a request is that you make a video about about you getting your car for the first time (how the process went), your fails, and first time at a drag strip, and all your accomplishments! Thank you man

      Thank you! I hope this video covered everything. That is part of the reasons I don’t get headers, among others that I may cover in a full dedicated video in the future. Definitely make sure to turn off the AC at the track to avoid any water drip. Also make sure to let the engine cool for a bit after you notice the times getting worse. Most of the time the tracks are so busy this isn't an issue, but in the event you have the option to keep doing back to back runs... hold off for a bit.

  • @IS300Spartan

    • @ISFASTER
      @ISFASTER  5 років тому

      Unless your car has line lock, which the ISF does not then yes, you’re getting your pads and rotors hot. As long as you’re not on it too long you should be ok. There are plenty of videos on UA-cam of people just holding a burnout until their rear brake assemblies catch on fire.

    A 10hp loss with a/c makes sense - that's 7.5kW pulled off the engine which sounds plausible considering the efficiency of the system and the effects of solar heating. On the other hand many/most modern (European) cars developed or released in the past 15 years have momentarily disengaged the compressor during full throttle driving so as not to affect acceleration.

      On a road course maybe, but any water coming out due to ac condensation is going to be coming from the bottom of the car and at the strip when staging there’s not going to be an amount coming out that’s going to make a difference in anyone’s launch because if it where you’d only get one run because the track official going to make sure of it. Also since it’s coming from underneath basically the middle of the car, those few droplets( if it’s even that many) surely aren’t going to affect anyone’s run because if they’re that far out of the groove to be in little drops of water that came from the middle of your car that’s in the groove, then they’ve got bigger problems anyway.

    Why do people think the ISF is some kind of crazy sports car? It’s a glorified luxury sedan with a tame overhead valve V8(pathetic torque curve). Line this up against any modern American sports car with a V8 and get ready to be a spec in the guys rear view.
    I’m not knocking Toyota/Lexus. That’s all I drive. I also have a Corvette and if you want speed/braking/handling, the vette out classes it by a mile.

    • @ISFASTER
      @ISFASTER  4 роки тому +7

      Check out some videos against those ‘modern American sports cars’ on my channel and you’ll see who is the speck is the others rear view. Not bad for a nearly 12 year old vehicle huh? 😎😁
      Also, you’re comparing a ‘glorified luxury sedan’ with a 2 door sports car, not exactly vehicles that are in the same category.

    • @d1sturb3d119
      @d1sturb3d119 4 роки тому +3

      Cause with headers and a tune these cars are indeed beasts.
      Viper vs ISF. ISF has full bolt ons and tune. The viper wins of course but given how the ISF is a 4 door sedan that is 10-11 years old now, that is pretty impressive.
      ua-cam.com/video/x-puswL9lAI/v-deo.html
      ISF vs Vette.
      ua-cam.com/video/CMysXi94b9U/v-deo.html
      For all things considered this is incredibly impressive. Now add the fact that the car is reliable, and with a mechanically sympathetic owner can have well into the 6 digits for mileage and still make great power, the car becomes quite the steal.
      Full bolt ons getting you 500 crank hp or street SS kit from RR racing getting you 620 crank hp. Value wise this becomes tempting.
      You call it tame while it eats up equivalent competition. If you believe the vette has usable performance on the daily then great! Get the vette. I debated between the CTSV and ISF. The ISF by far is the cheaper more efficient vehicle to own since barely anything goes wrong with them and to top that off I don't pay the 2 door insurance hit, and it is still usable in the winter. I have run that thing with 4 inches of snow on the ground with no issues.
      At the end of the day a decent driver in the ISF will pretty much outclass most machines out there unless you have perfect pavement and conditions. So far at my local track, no vette, M3, M4, whatever out there comes close, cause around a track, you really have to know your car and have the balls to push it. Folks buying the greatest cars, aren't the greatest drivers. Drivers who understand what cars work best for their use and abilities even in what could be considered inferior will do better. There's a reason why Miata's and S2k's with minimal mods are beasts at the track.
