Thanks for watching! On this kayak, the mounts were already on it and they simply bolted on with no backing plate or washers (something I need to put on sometime this summer). They are holding up well but I only have a fish finder on one and a rod holder on the other (and the holder is likely to slip on the ball before the plastic breaks). You could get some scrap aluminum or plastic and make a backing plate if you wanted to make really strong. Let me know how you do.
I have a 2013 Revo 13. I'm thinking of adding an outrigger. Do you find it stable enough to stand and fish in with the sidekick? I fish shallow marsh ponds and sight cast to reds, so standing up helps you see them much better.
Hi, nice yak! I buyed the same...and I want to install the ram mounts too, but the backing plate doesn't fit!..how are yours installed? Any kind of backing plate or big washer? Thanks Felix
We have two of these same boats. I didn’t want any tracks or mounts on the deck to get in the way, as I carry the yak upside down on racks. I have four Scotty mounts, two on each side. They are located on the vertical wall of the small netted compartments. I then snap in my two trolling rod holders, down-rigger and fish finder.
@@nolanpianalto4733 I did. Bought one off of Amazon for $20-$25 and then attached the original over it for more support. I’ll take a picture tomorrow it’s worked very well.
I like your "Here Fishy Fishy" T shirt!
I've been wanting to use mine for fly fishing. Great info
Thanks for watching and the comment! Tight lines.

I tried the Hobie Sidekicks on the Outback and the Revo and would not recommend standing up.
