I've got a 13-ft Revo and a Compass. I don't understand why everybody buys the PA and the Outback. They're beasts to lug around. The Revo is an incredible boat. I'm 77 and I can load the thing in the back of my pickup and unload it as well. Love the thing.
Yes exactly, I've now owned 15 Hobie kayaks including four Revo 13s. They are still one of my favourites for sure. Im in the market now for another kayak and have been looking at another Revo. Terry
Hi Kevin thanks for watching and commenting. It might be better to get two single kayaks as I found out the wife is never as keen to go out fishing as much as me and I end up alone most of the time. Also two people in a kayak feels quite unsteady as you will have a hard time with the weight distributing as you will always move independently of each other. Seen first hand a few capsized due to both people leaning over at the same time. Maybe do a bit of research before you buy. Terry
Hey Terry Got me new mean green revo! Couple questions...did you self tap screw or bolt your rails in etc? I have had several test paddles in rivers and was surprised at finding a cup of water inside the hull? Cheers p.s. very happy so far!
Great set up and interesting contraption you made up! Its a shame the Revolution doesn't come with flush track-mounts or a better solution for rod holders without needing to make modifications. I take it this is an older model Revolution 13, any advice on the best years for the Rev 13?
That Revo was a 2016 model. I did own a 2019 model that had a clamp type cleat for the rudder lines and rubber packets, otherwise it was the same. I just added two track rails for my rod holders.
Thanks Terry, Hope to join you soon as picking up my new revo this week. Yeah! Apart from yourself the best accolades for the revo has to be youtuber Flying Fish TV...,...go the revo
Thanks Lee, Yeah hope to see you out there. Dan from Flying Fish TV had a big following in Hawaii when he was there and quite a few people bought the Revo 13 and tried to emulate what he was doing. ua-cam.com/users/maddenedcowvideos ua-cam.com/channels/tuYp6g_HM3IvwvwTSZsa1A.htmlvideos
Hi mate, are you talking about the black seat on the revo? It's the standard Hobie Ct seat that comes on the later models and the exact same seat the 2015-2018 Hobie outback uses. hws.com.au/product/hobie-kayak-vantage-ct-seat/

Fantastic video Terry 👌
Very good video. Thanks for showing it. I wouldn't mind a tandem for the missus and I

Revo 13 for ocean, outback for lakes
Yeah for sure. I now have a PA14 and a Compass but still love the Revo. Even thinking of selling the PA to get another Revo.
Good video! Very informative!
Thanks Bill, hope you're well. Have you been out fishing lately?

What size pvc did you use on those rod holders. They look like the best thing since peanut butter.
Hi mate I used 40mm pipe. Have a go at making some, it's not too difficult.
Thanks Terry,

Do you have a link for the elevated seat? I have seached high and low, and can't find one
