So sad to hear that Nick passed away today. One of Kentucky's most colorful and talented musicians. I don't think I'll ever understand why "Night Patrol" failed to get the national attention it so deserved.
When the boys were playing in Lexington, and Richmond, and other cities in bars I had the honor to take the admittance charge for them for a year or two... almost a roadie (they really didn't have one at the time). Their talent will be sorely missed.
I was the stills photographer for the Lonesome Pines and was shooting the night this was recorded. It was one hell of a show if you were lucky enough to be in the room.
These Kentucky children (i am one) are so appreciative. Thanks, Nick, Renee, Rodney, and Frank. Newer musicians who are joined are also awesome that elevated this great culture!
Saw them half a dozen time in a little 75 seat venue called The Downhome Pickin' Parlor in Johnson City, TN during the 80's-90's. Awesome every time. Caroline and Rodney have very few peers.
Me too. i went to ETSU 86-90. JC was a great place for live music back then. Southside Shieks, Brian and the Nightmares etc. i saw such great bands at the Downhome.

They were an amazing band… I would see them at Butcher Town Pub in the early 80’s.
