I have half a dozen or pre-fashioned twine constrictor knots which I keep on a fat straw. Instead of tying the constrictor knot on the band, I just slip a pre-formed constrictor knot on the band, then tighten it. THWACK!

How would the trifold work on your smallest bands? I've done it on one set already but was wondering if I can kink it easier with its narrow width. Mighty little bands btw👌
Hi Nathan, It's Bob Bussiere again, I have a very good question for you. I make my own slingshot bands, when I attach the pouch to the band I fold the latex, But I noticed that the bands I received with my hammer XT are rolled when they are attached to the pouch. My question is this, how do you roll the bands and then tie them to the pouch?
Great question! You can get the latex in the hole and then stretch it to get the 2 folds creating the 3 layers on the tag end. Then just tie it as you normally would.
So it wasn't really clear to me which side the pouch went on. So the "rough" part is between your fingers? And the smooth side of the pouch is for the ammo? Thx!
Been making my own bandset fore a while now. I almost came to the same way of attaching the poach to the bands, but I dont use that notch. And of course, now I have to try that one. Thanks fore the advice. 👍
I tried this knot on my rounded rubbers but altough the knot seemed to be strong, it untied when shooting. I'll give it a few more attempts. Thanks for the vid
If it untied, there are two possible reasons: 1. Perhaps it just wasn't tightened down enough. 2. (More likely) there was a missing twist. It was probably a clove hitch instead of a constrictor knot (there's just one small but critical difference). Good for you for giving it a few more tries! Learning is part of the fun!
@@SuperAdvid That's great that you solved it. It can feel a bit wrong to tighten down as much as needed, but you do need to torque down on it pretty tight! :)
The white string is simple cotton twine found at any supermarket, dollar store, or hobby shop. The crystal string is amazing...if used correctly. Check out this video at the 2:07 mark : ua-cam.com/video/Hgk2ZEvezXg/v-deo.html
@@simpleshot yeah I used it and had to wrap it and then tie a square knot I just wasn't able to do a constrictor knot with it but yeah I did find it to be good thank you

Sage advice.
Correctly is as long as it holds, right? 🤣

how much ply should the cotton twine be?
Thanks, that helps clear up some questions about banding. Nice vid.

Very well done. A straight forward how to. Thanks.

It is much more difficult with the narrow bands but the same exact concept.

@@simpleshot thank you for the info!
Would you make a video of how to do it?
I think a lot of people would like to do it.
Pls give the exact measurements of the band thx I’ll wait
Why not use latex band to tie instead of string? New to all this stuff.
Latex will also work great. String is just easy to keep around and organized.
Is the "Crystal String" that Simpleshot sells tied with the "Constrictor Knot" also?
Crystal string is super simple, just wrap at the tie in point several times while maintaining tension and then finish with a square knot. Easy peasy!
So it wasn't really clear to me which side the pouch went on. So the "rough" part is between your fingers? And the smooth side of the pouch is for the ammo? Thx!
You can use it whichever way you like the feel best. It really does not matter. Try one each way.

Hi, i'm planning on doing my first slingshot and i would like to ask you if i can use a ball bladder to make the bands?
Thanks for the great videos :D
It is likely butyl rubber and not very good for slingshot bands. Try exercise bands instead- like Theraband or Fitness bands
SimpleShot Shooting Sports Ok, thank you very much for the reply :D
Is fishing road good for tying the pouch to the bands ?
Do you still sell the Tying Jig?

Since these are tapered bands, Does the wider end or the narrower end go through the pouch?
