Comic strip is very good. My first thought was "landing strip", but when I heard "Sunset Strip" I thought it was a terrific answer. I felt sorry for Mary Ann who obviously drew a blank under pressure (I don't think Richard whispering her adorably silly "clam bake" answer from two shows prior helped her concentrate either).
How times have changed. There was so much that couldn't be said on t.v. back then, yet so much that today would be considered politically incorrect. In some ways I miss those days and in other ways I don't :) So sad that all but Ann Elder are gone.

brad stephan, totally agree. the contradict of gene rayburn on full display here, bringing tactless attention to a contestants breasts, then makes an equally tactless but hilarious joke, "don't worry about it, the money will be very comforting to you." gene was a great show host but he could really fluctuate between being very professional and being a pervert. been watching the first 70 plus episodes, this is the point when rayburn starts getting pervy, he's said on at least 3 occasions to contestants and panelists "meet me backstage..." he hasn't yet started the mandatory kissing yet, which of course dawson would bring to family feud.

Gene can be so gracious and kind, with never a bad word for Brett's boorish behavior, and then this pervy thing strikes from out-of-the-blue. Actually, many male celeb's comments can get cringeworthy. Also, I liked Dawson on MG, but never could watch him on FF.
6:50 who's whispering "clam bake" to mary ann in the middle of the $5000 question? sounds like richard, shows you what a competitive jerk he could be. notice how they start using the reference "gay" instead of "queer" which (i think) was used in a earlier show. this would indicate a meeting took place about the proper euphemism.
