Thanks for sharing!! I thought that you were going to have Asian ancestry as well 🤷🏾♀️. However there are people groups in Africa that have smaller eye shapes as well, so don’t be surprised that your “Asian” features are actually from your African genes ☺️. I’m Jamaican as well, and I’m 45% Nigerian 🇳🇬 according to ancestry 😀
She might have meant South Asian (India). Since a lot of Indian people were brought to Jamaica as indentured slaves almost two hundred years ago, the majority of Black Jamaicans have recent Indian ancestry. I was actually surprised that she doesn't.
They are less Jamaican people with Ghanaian ancestry and more people in Jamaica with Nigerian actress cuz I did mind and I am full-blown 90% Nigerian so that means both my mom and my dad got Nigerian ancestry
@Norah Elaine why are you surprised? Remember when Americans were obsessed with Egypt? When they moved on to Shaka Zulu and South Africa then now finally Ghana. For Jamaica they were obsessed with Haile selasse and Ethiopia now Ghana so it’s normal. But they don’t realize 41 to 45% if ALL slaves taken during the transatlantic slave period came from what is now known as Nigeria. Only about 2 in 10 came from Ghana for comparison for Nigeria that figure would be closer to 1 in 2
@Norah Elaine it’s good that you are more enlightened on this topic than most people I have come across, and you appreciate or acknowledge your Nigerian roots and your Jamaican citizenship and your family, You are right, it was mainly the Rasta movement about the Haile Selasse thing. But my point like you have rightly noted is it seemed to me like most African Americans Jamaicans or most black people in General are or were ashamed to claim any links to Nigeria. You know how Americans love boxes and their Italian American, Irish American and so on when it came to Nigerian they were ashamed of acknowledging any links but where always loud to proclaim Cherokee Indian American or Native American. So I was like hol’ up you’ll celebrate and make a fuzz about your 1% Native American but not your 60% Nigerian? Because to me it had always been clear from childhood it started when I saw a magazine of some Guyanese women and they looked 100% like my dads elder sister who is 100% Nigerian. That was how I got interested in Guyana and all these ancestry thing. It was also very easy for me to find out that majority of slaves came from what is now modern day Nigeria most books on the topic speak of it, but any where I turned I was getting “we are xyz, we are abc, basically anything but Nigerian” and I always told them but the paper trail, the maps, the ships almost half of them all trace back to Nigeria.” So you can imagine my excitement when at home DNA test kits became a thing and people were now realizing oh so we aren’t this and that but mostly Nigerian. Some even claimed the DNA tests were fake because they suspect Nigerian percentages were too much and they should have had more Native American in them, but I don’t blame them at all, it’s the programming when you were told all your life we are Native Americans but never told about being Nigerian or African and now you get a result saying 0% Native American 98% Nigerian you’ll feel lied to by someone and it’s easier to blame the DNA company than blame grandmama and grand papa. But, Even today Nigeria is Half of west Africa. Nigeria has a population of 200m while, all of west Africa is 400m. So if someone says I am west African, the odds that he or she is Nigerian is 1 in 2. Almost similar odds as if you were a descendant of slave and having a Nigerian ancestor.
@@Biobele Exactly. I've never understood the reasoning that they are mostly Ghanian and even wanting to relocate there because they believe it to be true. Mostly Nigerian majority.

The majority of Jamaicans, Afro Caribbeans and African Americans will definitely lean Nigeria. I hear a lot say Ghana. Yes, our people were taken from Ghana as well, but they didn't take any more from Ghana than they did from Benin, Togo, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Angola. At the time Europeans named the African regions according to the resource they came for. Present day Nigeria was called Slave Coast, Ghana was called Gold Coast, there was also Ivory Coast (still retains the name). Nigeria is also the most populous black nation and has about 20% of the population of all Sub-Saharan Africans. So yeah, a whole lot of you have some Nigerian in you and in many cases a lot more Nigerian than any other West African countries. Jamaica, Brazil, Trinidad & Tobago and Cuba were well documented to have had a lot of enslaved people from Nigeria.
The Slave Coast started at the Volta River on the Ghanaian coast and went into Togo, Benin (Dahomey) and Western Nigeria. Nigeria is the most populous African nation today, but that region wasn't always as populated. You can't take realities of today and juxtapose them onto past events. The majority of Jamaicans in particular come from Ghana, and there's evidence of this. Just look at Jamaica's local dialect Patois, most of its non-English words are taken from the Akan language.

The British at some point stopped their merchants bringing slaves from then Gold Coast especially the Akan/Ashantis because they found them troublesome and rebellious. Most of Caribbean rebels during slavery were led by them.
@@josephgyamfi2856 That's false. There were thousands of slave rebellions in the Americas involving all the different African tribes. African slaves rebelled every chance they got. It's not surprising at all that she has no Asian. Those features are actually from the Bantu genes. Many people from the southern portion of Africa look like her, and they are 100% African. Nelson Mandela is a famous example.
I think the way they use the mitochondrial dna they would have the results from the mothers lineage. I believe the results are more accurate with males since they have a Y chromosome from what I heard. So if her brother or father had a test done you can get a more complete view.

I'm curious as to where your Norwegian ancestry is from since there isn't much known history of Norwegians in Jamaica, and they didn't colonize other countries the way the English, Spanish and Dutch were known to do. Maybe one of your Irish or English ancestors had a Norwegian parent/grandparent.
I predict that you have some Chinese ancestry. EDIT: You don't have any Chinese or other Asian ancestry. However, you do have indigenous American ancestry, which is noteworthy because some indigenous American peoples descend from Asians who migrated to the Americas 10,000 to 20,000 years ago. Congratulations. Welcome to the Nigerian family.
I'm 37% Nigerian/Igbo only 8% Ghana & Sierra leone. In total 52.7% African (including North African Berber) The other 46.7% European, Asian, Gulf Arab and 3% indigenous. The Taino did not die off their DNA live in us Jamaicans. My sister is 7% indigenous.I wasn't surprises about your Nigerian ancestry, I've always felt Jamaicans are fiery like Nigerians, not calm like Ghanaians. I wonder if Bajans are the Ghanaians, they're so calm.
Waooooo, 70% of the African portion of your DNA is Nigerian. That's very very high.
That 1% indigenous/native that u got comes from the caribbean natives specifically taino/arawak, All of the jamaican natives didnt die but ur native ancestors are from colombia and Venezuela not jamaica native...Im also 25% native jamaican taino!
That’s so cool. So you’re Jamaican to the core 😂 good for you!
Native taino? Nice, what are your physical features like?
Out of curiosity, are you part of the maroon community in JA? I think that's where most of the taino bloodline is concentrated.
I can actually see it in her even though it's such a low percentage. I thought she would be a lot more then 1% native.
Tbh tainos originated in that area of South America so makes sense
I definitely thought Asian would be one of the top results. Your Asian features are so strong and you are beautiful btw.
I'm a pure born Nigerian and this is really touching
Lovely Nigerian queen 👸🇳🇬 . Thought you would be from China but oh well. 😊
😂😂😂
People fail to realize that West African people had some features that mimic Asian people like high cheekbones.
@@peacehappyb237 and eyes.
Wait for it.....
Do you see the link?
I wonder why the first 2 test were unsuccessful??! Strange🤔🤔
Hey my precious, great findings my love.
Thank you 😊 ❤️
Ooh glad I used ancestry dna first. Never heard of the other one. I’m Jamaican too. 32% Nigerian. It has changed since I got the results 6 months ago. It used to be 40%.
I'm 54% Nigerian 28% Ghanian whoo hoo! I think when Jamaica was under Spanish rule they were mainly bringing over Ghanians hence why the Maroons are of Ashanti decent. I'm assuming the Brits were just bringing over pure Igbo & Yoruba ppl after they took over the island. I could be wrong. P.S. That Colombia Venezuela could be Taino blood.
The British at some point stopped their merchants bringing slaves from then Gold Coast especially the Akan/Ashantis because they found them troublesome and rebellious. Most of Caribbean rebels during slavery were led by them.
@@josephgyamfi2856
That's false. There were thousands of slave rebellions in the Americas involving all the different African tribes. African slaves rebelled every chance they got. For example, the slave rebellion in Barbados was led by an Igboman. There were also maroon communities in Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, Suriname, Guyana etc etc
Akan tribe from Ghana which it Gold Coast.
Lightest video on DNA result reveal. Cool 😎 . Need more like this. Go Nadine.
Congratulations ❤️ I am a black American with Ancestors from the Bahamas. 32% of my African ancestotry is Nigerian (wolf & Yoruba) amongst other things....(Scotish, Mali And Cherokee) Indigenous Americans are Asian. Usually a mix of Siberian and Mali. Look up Mansa Musa. The richest King in all of History.
Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory coast, Benin, Togo, Mali are all the same people. It's just colonial borders and nothing else
@@baerkaabnaab2388 yeah
Maaaan! I really thought you were going to have some Asian ancestry in there - I TOTALLY said to myself this lady def has some! Anyway as its two years gone have you dug further into what areas/tribes within Nigeria your DNS originates from?
She do lol
First time seeing any of your videos but looking at your facial features I assumed there would be some Asian. DNA is so interesting!
Native Americans also look like Asians don't forget that.
It's not surprising at all that she has no Asian. Those features are actually from the Bantu genes. Many people from the southern portion of Africa look like her, and they are 100% African. Nelson Mandela is a famous example.
@@andromedastar4900 you are absolutely right! I didn't think of that. Thanks for the reminder!
The Asian “look” is coming from the South American dna.
West Africans too
Not even 1% Asian??? Damn... I would have bet my money and lost.
Haha right?!
I think the way they use the mitochondrial dna they would have the results from the mothers lineage. I believe the results are more accurate with males since they have a Y chromosome from what I heard. So if her brother or father had a test done you can get a more complete view.
I´m from Norway and I'm happy to share a common link with you sistar. It's truly amazing to discover our roots are interconnected like the one true family we are under God. All glory to the Trinity of Paradise, Allah´loo´Yah´Jah, in the name of Jesus Christ MiCahEl I pray God may bless your hearts and minds with the power of his Will to make you instruments and co-creators in this journey and the next. Much love 🥰
You are beautiful sister and you have our tone. We love you . God bless Naija and Goa bless Jamaica...
I’m Jamaican and Indian and I might be Ethiopian because everywhere I go people think I’m Ethiopian 10000 times great video
Me to girl I am a jamaican and I watch everything nigerian I felt connected to nigerian. I too going to do one of thes test.
From the moment I saw you in this video I thought how highly resemble a Jamaican middle aged woman I know, and you could almost be her twin when she was younger and she does have a Asian father. Many Afro Jamaicans interbreeding with Asians who migrated from China to Jamaica. Hence the reason I was surprised, more like shocked no Asian showed up in your DNA results. You may want to do another DNA with another company to compare their information with this one.
How cool! I love knowing I have doppelgängers out there 😄 I will definitely someday try another company! I’m not convinced either haha
@@ladeenly ❤️
I was waiting for some Asian ancestry for sure. You’re adorable!
Umm Native American? lol
I was expecting her to have Chinese considering quite a few Jamaicans do. Also, she looks like she is part Asian.
Well she is lol
@@Mope333 Did you watch the entire video? She is 91 percent African and 8 percent European. 7:43
@@KalelaChannel So there’s 1%?
What do your results look like now?
Listen to this and give your life to JESUS
My daughter did 23 & me and her dna results very similar, except we have Spanish and Portuguese plus Sierra Leone…
Ayyyee 🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬
I have done my ancestry DNA TEST , an 30% Nigerian but yet I am from Jamaica too , but I live in London but I was in Jamaica last year so one love queen 💚💛🖤🤎🧡💜💖🤍💙💗❤💞⚘⚘⚘⚘⚘⚘🥰💪♐🐎
😂😂😂😂 got so excited and almost forgot the others lmao 🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬
Welcome, home I am a Nigerian too, so what tribe do you think you are from? I think you are either Yoruba or Ibo. Nigerians are wonderful people, and I am a proud Nigerian welcoming you to the motherland. We are the giant of Africa. E Ku abo si ile o.
She looks like she's from southern Nigeria.
She is igbo
Sis you are straight up African. Mali, The Congolese, Benin are all part of the continent of Africa 🌍 👏🏼
The indigenous Americans are kinda quite closely related to asians btw!
Not just related, they are Asian descent lol
Igbo people has your look.
My dad looks like a Chinese
Igbos don't look Chinese.
Congratz on your results but you visibly have some Asian looking features. I guess that is where the "1% Indigenous Americas" but I guess when the updates are done. There will be changes. Keep sweet :-)
Yeah, let’s see what the update brings and thanks for stopping by, Kimberly 😊
There are African tribes with ‘Asian looking features’. One example is Khoisan people. Smaller eyes are not specific to Asia and African tribes and groups are also ethnically diverse with different features
@@lucymo6540 yes, her features are classic indigenous southern Africa, very beautiful
What people in Nigeria, Togo, and Benin?
I’m born Jamaican…..just found out that my great-grandmother is from Ghana! 💃🏾 💃🏾💃🏾 No matter what we Jamaican will forever finds some European in us, especially because of British invaded Jamaica. Congrats 🥳
Hello my sister, do you know what people you're from in Nigeria?
I'm bahamian haitian africain american from Nigerian descend
Your probably from the yoruba tribe in Nigeria because there the biggest and there yoruba people in Benin and Togo as well so your probably 67% yoruba
Yoroba are not in Togo and they only make up 12% of the population of Benin republic.
@@nwachinemere7759 they are yoruba people I'm Togo but its a small amount
@@G6doubleG
Nope, not in Togo. That's not even possible because Yorobaland does not share any boundary with any tribe in Togo. And moreover, the kingdom that was responsible for the capturing and selling of slaves in Benin republic was Dahomey kingdom not any Yoroba kingdom.
Empress yu funny bless up ❤️💛💚🇯🇲🙏🏾
Nigeria, Benin, Ghana, Togo, Mali are west African countries.
I thought you definitely had some East Asian in you!
Me too,I know some African can look like that but they generally are similar to the Khoisan, she just Blasian.
@Oval Rods The percentage is too small to have any effect.
Genetics is quirky. I Don't think we know what genes code for eyelids. That trait is found in many parts of the world East Asia parts of Europe, Africa the Americas. Is it a single gene or different genes unique to each region?
@@mlungisiwright From what I understand is epicanthic fold is the either a look part of humanity or something from environmental adaptation.
Taino people came from Venezuela.
The original people from Jamaica are Taino. So that should explain your 1% Venezuela
I'm going to order my kit 😊
How reliable are those test thou?
I don't understand!! Do you mean you didn't get the results before you came on your channel?
what song is at 8:16 anyone know ?
Gasolina
The 1% indigenous is correct, your features are similar to my fam who are of indigenous blood line.
Indigenous is native american, ancestrycom once a year they update,23andme might updated more then once a year
Thanks so much for the info! 😊
The indigenous that she got is from the taino/arawaks,the caribbean natives
What are the other percentages?
I'm only half Jamaican, and my brother has similar percentages of Nigerian blood.
I would like to do it
The Americans/Venezuelan is actually Taino/Arawak ancestry
thanks for sharing nice rusults.
First time viewing your channel
I'm curious as to where your Norwegian ancestry is from since there isn't much known history of Norwegians in Jamaica, and they didn't colonize other countries the way the English, Spanish and Dutch were known to do. Maybe one of your Irish or English ancestors had a Norwegian parent/grandparent.
I haven't seen the result yet, but I'm excited!
This explains your Asian-esque phenotype, in my opinion.

It’s a fact
Don't fully trust them... because if they find something that they don't want you to know , they will not tell you.
That's true

So let me give you all a little secrete, slavering started in Nigeria and they took torn and torn of people from that area. So if you’re from any of the island or black American, there’s 65% chance you’re Nigerian and 35% Ghanian because ghana and Nigeria are the two closest country and Togo also. Thank me later
Togo and Nigeria are within trekking distance.....,7minutes
Benin republic to Nigeria and vice versa is a trekking distance not Togo.. Togo is quite Far from Nigeria 😍
I consider myself a featureoligist because im good at telling faces not just among black but among every race and even tribal group

Baby you’re Taino Jamaica like myself ❤Congratulations
Am Kenyan and my DNA came out am also Nigerian
Which tribe?
Probably Yoruba give the Togo/Benin/Nigerian combo.
African phenotypes are very diverse
If you hadn't mentioned Jamaican I would have called you a Yoruba lady from Western Nigeria. We have many that look Asian in Nigeria just as you look beautiful.
You mean Asians look like y’all?
