    I love watching his approach to certain types of shots. That attempt to get the 160 yard pitching wedge shot with a draw is cool as hell, the way he addressed the ball with his stance is so different. He has such good control of the club face and path

    Great Video, shows the importance of the fit, no clubs were purchased, slight modifications can improve strike. Would like to see this video repeated with a higher handicapper. If you need a volunteer I can make myself available. 😂

    I moved to +2 degree upright wedges this year and have seen way more control and better striking all year from it.

    When it comes to wedge fitting, I am most curious about how you go about choosing the best bounce/grind combination when you are not on course?

    I hit that same hosel rocket the other day trying to do the same thing: step on a wedge 😂 blasted it directly sideways. But, like Mac, caught my next shot clean and stuck it close 🙌🏽

    Very insight full. Payers like Mac given how much he has going on in his hands, addressing his wedge lie angle is a game changers. That said, I will surly have my wedges checked out. My only question is, how much will such changes effect the bounce as condition turn soft/wet?

    I'm 5'3" and was fitted with irons 6-GW that are 2* flat. My 54* and 58* wedges are standard and I hit them right as a lefty. Should they be flatter also? Would this make a difference?

  • @troyrambo6804
    @troyrambo6804 11 місяців тому

    This is very interesting. I used to play 1 upright across the set, now I'm standard Titleist lie in irons and 1 flat in wedges. I find it easier to hit chips and pitches with a flatter club. Every couple of years I get a bug about how my wedges sit and I flip back and forth, but for now I'm staying 1 flat. I find it a bit easier to chip with them and full shots I like to hit a fade so it matches up for me. cool video.

    I need new wedges keep hoping the SM10s are gonna drop soon. I can tell theyre getting worn out bc my launch is now consistently above 30/8k where its normally 28/9k with 58.

    Had a very unimpressive wedge fitting at golf Galaxy last year. Paid for the fitting just to ONLY select which brand wedge I’d go with and the lofts. Did not fit for length, shaft, bounce, or lie. I asked if we should play around with the different bounces, and the fitter said “probably not I think it’s fine at 10”. It felt like an unbelievable waste of time. It was a scheduled fitting that provided no value other than ~30-40min on a trackman.

    @15:41 Going through the turf better. How about Effective Bounce on wedges, there is more bounce towards the toe. Is that why some like their wedges flatter than their iron set? And not wanting it to hook?

    • @clubchampionmedia
      @clubchampionmedia  11 місяців тому

      Hey Matthew,
      Our loft and lie adjustments are free for the lifetime of the golf clubs you get through us. If you've purchased those clubs elsewhere, there is a fee for adjusting those lofts and lies.
      Outside of learning what are the best performing head and shaft pairings to improve your scores, our fittings will also come with the spec sheet of the recommended clubs, as well as the Trackman or SAM Putt Lab data from your fitting. That way, you can go over the numbers yourself to see the improvements between your existing clubs and the new, or newly adjusted clubs.

    My impact pattern is identical to Matt’s. I have a hosel rocket or two every now and then. Is there a shaft change that can help move impact closer to the middle of the clubface or would that be more of a swing change. I’m super consistent hitting here and hesitate making a change to my swing and losing consistently. Currently playing KBS c taper stiff with some Taylor made psi tour irons, 3* upright.

    • @clubchampionmedia
      @clubchampionmedia  11 місяців тому

      A shaft change could definitely be in order, so go in and get fit to see for sure! However, the shaft could be a little long too. A shorter shaft should move that strike location a little more center, away from the heel of the club.
