    My son and I love your channel. We could watch “Iron Byron” (Matt) hit golf balls all night. It almost has a soothing, Bob Ross, quality. You guys explain club fitting better than anyone I’ve seen on UA-cam. Keep doing what you do!

    1) hole in one, long overdue! Congrats Matty! Kinda thought it might occur with the driver.
    2) Ian, what a credit to the industry, if only each market had an Ian!

    I`ve gamed for a year now the 0311T Gen 2 3-PW with PX LZ 6.0 shaft and 49&54 Sugar Daddy wedges . I’m very satisfied with the equipment!

    So if the older version of the PXG has disappeared from the site, then the other iron missing from the test was the new Srixon z785. Seeing those two head-to-head might really complicate Matty’s decision. Thanks for the channel. It’s the best equipment tutorial anyone could get.

    Larry is such a great coach! Unfortunately I can't see him much with me being in the USA but my coach who just played in the PGA Professional Tourney, who doesn't know Larry, teaches me the exact same technique for all the shots. Just confirms Larry really knows his stuff.

    Amazing how much change happens over a short period of time with the swing related to club setup. If he keeps improving his swing he will go broke!!! Great video guys and very informative as usual.

    Ian, I love your approach to improve the below average strikes to improve confidence to swing better. That is why I got the driver that had better results on off center hits and not just pick the longest. Now I need to save up enough to get irons that don’t pull when i look at them funny

    Went back to look at TXG's library of videos. Found Matts Iron Fitting Live from April 26th. 2018.
    What an amazing resource to have. Great nuggets from Ian🧙‍♂️ throughout;
    one of them @1:30:58;
    Ian says "I think the Srixon's are too jumpy for you"
    Matty says "Your'e breaking my heart"
    Ian says "Ya, I know" 😉
    Matts' follow through looks noticeably different from 1 year ago. Loved the hole in one reaction 🏆
    Has been a blast watching the channel evolve. Ty guys and appreciate the great work. 🙏

    It is fascinating to watch older (pre-Larry) videos with Matt - night and day swing difference. I can attest to Ian's comment about getting refit after working with a coach on changes. I went from 1* upright to 1* flat in less than 2 months an may need another tweak as we continue to refine things. Great content as always - makes for a great morning cup of coffee companion.

    I play the gen1 0311t. NEVER expected to play PXG myself. It became an easy decision for me to switch with my normal mishit being thin. Indoor and on course testing showed thin and solid shots going VERY similarly. I've played mizuno for many years and the results were dramatically different. Lastly for comparison purposes I hit similar distances to Matt. Gen1 is my preference over gen2.

    I watch all love your videos and LOVE how you approach the fitting process. I have always considered myself as a good golfer with lots of potential, but I couldn't quite bring my game together and make any real permanent improvements. I decided to take my current clubs, take a few swings with my eyes closed and see what was going on, and found out that my stress free swing was fine, but my equipment didn't match. Lie angle, iron grind, grip size, head weight, and shaft weight were all wrong. I went and got fitted for some new clubs and have have had about a month of amazing practice sessions with my natural swing, and a great outcome. If I ever make it bid, I'll give you all of the credit. I hope to make a few videos with a shout-out to you soon.

    I did a fitting with PXG earlier this year in Florida, and I saw very similar results as you all did in this video. Although they are cheaper than the new ones for 2019, I still could not afford them, and went a different route. My dispersion and consistency went up greatly with them vs what I was playing. I know they were the club for me, but $700 vs $1500 was too big of a difference to pay.

    I have the PXG Gen 1 XF irons with the Steel fiber 95I shaft in my bag and I love them. A little bigger head but very consistent and the best part for me is the distance and accuracy I get on off center hits but my center face shots feel incredible. Unfortunately I bought them at the peak of their price point but I don't regret buying them.

    Really enjoyed that fellas, well done (again). I loved my 765/565 combo set, wish I’d never sold them. As I’m on the back nine of my golfing career I don’t think I’d spend PXG money for marginal improvements. But more than the head discussion, I really like the focus on finding a shaft that feels good, the kbs tour worked for me, I have AMT Black now in my AP3’s and they feel a bit lacklustre

    I’ve tried the both Gen’s. I’ve found the Gen 1’s feel squishier (which i personally liked). Ever since I played the Mizuno JPX 825 Pro’s. I’ve been trying to find an iron just as soft and buttery. The Gen 1 0311P’s are as close to them as I have found.

    The question Matty has to answer for himself is: cost? Overall, a great test...ooh and congrats on the hole-out! Lastly, Matty, you should go and re-hit the Hogan PTx and see how you do? I have hit the PXG and they are great clubs, yet the price is not so easy to justify.

    Great video. Got exiting at 16 min and forward with some great shots and a HiO.
    Brilliant to see the shaft with the two suitable heads.
    Which head to pick? Just hit x balls each and go with closest dispersion. The PXG may be picked based on HIO ... but base decision on feel and performance and not emotion.

    Love, love , love my Gen1s!!!! Most important piece of my continuing improvement. I have completely retooled my swing, and everything I have done was complimented and supported with my new irons. I have played Hogan apex irons for years, and liked them a lot, but the first strike with the PXGs, what Hogan irons😂 I never looked back. Every aspect of my iron game has improved. I was lucky to buy them when the Gen1’s were available at a deep discount. Only regret I have is I should gone with the Players, or even “T” instead of the XF. Oh well I guess I will just have to suffer with perfect ball flight, added distance, and soft landings from any distance...oh darn😁

    Couldn’t you argue that the CBs are outperforming the PXG given the differences in loft? Even with 1 degree higher loft on PXG still 2 degrees stronger than Titleist CB and Titleist numbers just as good. To me I take that to mean Matt is getting more performance out of the Titleist with the weaker loft

      I can answer that. No, you would include a gap testing too, to ensure that each iron would have the correct loft, and weight so you get the correct 10-15 yard gap between each iron... But first and foremost you want to see and feel the new iron model. Later comes the gap testing! :)
      Hope that answers it!

    Were the Srixon Z785’s hit? With the thinner sole than the 65 could they solve for the problems that the wider soled 765’s produced for Matt?

    Have you guys tried out the Cobra King MB/CB’s yet? Please do a review, you’ll love them! Best irons I’ve ever played. That $-Taper shaft is awesome too. Keep up the good work

    Toward the beginning, you mentioned a drill your instructor has you doing so that you are not as square at impact, that you have rotated more. Can you tell us what that drill is, as I have some of the same going on.

    A little bit of a surprise with the shaft there. I recall you saying that he x100 can add a little spin so I was thinking maybe that route. Matty is becoming one of the troops 😂 Touching on the leading edge and turf interaction. Is a pre worn leading edge better for a player who gets a little diggy from shaft lean? I tend to lean and get a bit squeezy and my miss is more of a heavy strike. I've gone to a set of blades just for the narrow sole to help with turf interaction. I've always wondered about the v sole and now irons like the p760 with a good amount of pre worn leading edge.

    I don't quite hit the ball like you yet Matt (work in progress) but I can assure you the longer irons from PXG would give you a lot of confidence. Ian, are these also available in black and chrome? ;-)
