Kitty Green does it again. If anyone hasn't seen The Assistant, give it a shot. Both of these films have all these details that make you want to scream "god I know exactly what you mean and why this is unsettling". Great horror thrillers

That would’ve been more beneficial and I would have lost less brain cells. I don’t know who approved or made this movie but wow this just proves to me that these producers are no better than you and I. I've just watched The Society a couple weeks ago and I was soo sad that the show ended. Glad to see Toby Wallace in this movie! He definitely nailed his sociopath role in The Society. He's a great actor.

This gives me flashbacks of a horrendous holiday I had at 17 with an idiot British schoolfriend on a Greek island in the late 70s. She thought she could flirt with every Greek man in a bar, sit on their laps, take free drinks from them all night and then saunter away with just a wave goodnight. A few years later I travelled solo Mexico and Central America and felt safer than I had with her.

The way this trailer moves so effortlessly from its carefree what-if opening... to something deeper and darker... wow. I literally had to stop watching at 1:44. I didn't want to know anything more. I wanted to savor not knowing, and anticipating.
Foreigners think it’s the animals and insects you have to be afraid of. It’s not. It’s the isolated remote land we live on, I’ve lived in country towns for a lot of life and have travelled a lot on my own. It takes a few hours of driving and you are literally in the middle of nowhere, with nothing around for hours or days, there is no help and if something happens to you, you probably won’t be found. Thats the real terrifying thing about Australia. You can go missing in a second and no one will notice and no one will find you.

I get the impression that, as vile the culture of the town, this will be as much about the 2 girls culture shock and paranoia and not so much about the townspeople being psychos but just really awful backwards misogynistic types that push the young women to the point of lashing out. Good film and Jennifer Garner is great, per usual. I did see the documentary this is based off of and I kinda like that better. It was less sinister and more chaotic, tbh. The girls in the doc stayed the whole time and while I won't say they learned anything about themselves, they certainly learned to stand up for themselves.
We must never forget for what the British first used Australia for. That "gene" is still there. You might not find it easy in big cities but in the outback it won't go unnoticed.

I'm pretty sure the writers used the documentary Hotel Coolgardie as their muse for this film. Hotel Coolgardie is a doc where 2 Finnish girls go to work in an Outback pub that is filled with some pretty rough and strange customers. If you're interested in seeing The Royal Hotel I suggest watching the real-life version in Hotel Coolgardie.
Yes! The end credits say ‘inspired by the documentary Hotel Coolgardie’. Horrifying, easy to understand how it inspired the movie makers. They’ve even replicated the exact look and feel of the pub and upstairs accommodation perfectly.
I went to the Outback in Australia expecting the worst. What I got was McDonald's and KFC everyday, a modern supermarket, internet(back in 2004) and extremely friendly, civilized people. America is way scarier.
I'm an actor and screenwriter. I'm a big supporter and admirer of Jessica Henwick, I have no idea if this film will be a success because I believe every film is a winner. But I hope to have the chance to work with her once this strike is over. I've haven't been having the best of days, in fact I've been very depressed because of the strike. Just because someone wishes to stand with someone doesn't mean they lost the chance. I hope to work with her, and I pray every middle of the night to the stars that the strike ends. Liv and Hanna may go through hell with the toxic, brutal and sexism in the film, but at least Jessica and Juila were able to make a film before everything stopped, unlike me. I will not stop, and I hope that my chaos can finally be relived.
Keep your chin up mate and stay optimistic. The strike sucks but let's hope you guys win the result you're seeking. Maybe you could write a screenplay about the strike? You could call it 'Cut'

Yes! The end credits say ‘inspired by the documentary Hotel Coolgardie’. Horrifying, easy to understand how it inspired the movie makers. They’ve even replicated the exact look and feel of the pub and upstairs accommodation perfectly.
Nice to see Ruth came back to life and left The Ozarks.

I went to the Outback in Australia expecting the worst. What I got was McDonald's and KFC everyday, a modern supermarket, internet(back in 2004) and extremely friendly, civilized people.
America is way scarier.

I'm an actor and screenwriter. I'm a big supporter and admirer of Jessica Henwick, I have no idea if this film will be a success because I believe every film is a winner. But I hope to have the chance to work with her once this strike is over. I've haven't been having the best of days, in fact I've been very depressed because of the strike. Just because someone wishes to stand with someone doesn't mean they lost the chance. I hope to work with her, and I pray every middle of the night to the stars that the strike ends. Liv and Hanna may go through hell with the toxic, brutal and sexism in the film, but at least Jessica and Juila were able to make a film before everything stopped, unlike me. I will not stop, and I hope that my chaos can finally be relived.
Keep your chin up mate and stay optimistic. The strike sucks but let's hope you guys win the result you're seeking. Maybe you could write a screenplay about the strike? You could call it 'Cut'
