    Love your view while sewing. It’s almost as good as sewing outside on the porch

      Yes, it is! The deer come as close as 5 feet from the window. They don’t mind the noise from the sewing machine!

      Welcome! I am glad you find me easy to listen to…my husband is still not convinced! (He gets to hear each episode at least two times because of editing, etc.)

    I bought the large drunkard's path templates and am going to make a Christmas quilt soon with it. I keep wishing that I had the smaller one because I seem to find more patterns for the smaller size. But with just find contentment with the larger size and figure out my own things to do with it. What a great present all those parts where, and your thrift store finds were great. Love those blocks you got. I want to thank you for all your hard work learning how to put the links into the notes. I am not the best with computers so do appreciate having them. Have a wonderful weekend! See you on Monday!

      I probably should buy a set of drunkard's path templates, but keep putting it off. I think that a Christmas quilt will look great in large blocks made with your templates...there are so many great settings! I am going to miss our MI thrift stores when we go back to WV...none of the ones we go to there have such great fabric or craft stuff. It was a challenge to figure out how to put the patterns in the notes, but I googled and read articles and watch some UA-cam videos and figured it out. I took notes on cards so I can do that trick more than once. Thank you for appreciating my hard work! See you on Monday!

    I understand that hand sanitizer makes a good windshield/windscreen cleaner when you have difficult things to remove like tree sap. I haven't tried that yet, but it does make sense. I am impressed that the nail polish remover does not harm the markings that are built into the ruler, or make the surface of the ruler "cloudy." Thanks for the tip!

      I will share that hand sanitizer tip with my husband. Our vehicles are always parked under trees. Finger nail polish remover takes sharpie off of lots of surfaces. It does not usually damage plastic like oops can. My ruler had all of the measuring lines on the bottom. It will remove painted on lines if applied directly. I have used it on white boards, too, but I always follow up with plain water to get rid of residue. Thank you for sharing!

    About the Drunkard's Path quilt block. There was an episode of Sewing with Nancy several years ago where the guest, Elaine Waldschmidt, made the blocks by appliqueing a circle on a square and then cutting the square into 4 equal parts. I believe she used a dinner plate to trace the circle, and the differential between the square size and the plate size was 2 inches. I like this better and it does work than sewing the block the traditional way.

      @werquilters  День тому

      I have seen that method before...I even bought a ruler that you can use to cut various sized circles. I like the dinner plate idea better! (I have never used the ruler, but I have used plates!) You have inspired me to discuss this at a much later date...when I get to it on the A Study in Scarlet quilt. Thank you for the inspiration in advance! (Just in case I forget to say so five or six months from now when I make that block!) Thank you for sharing!

    Hi Lorrie! Is that the back of my RV I see thru the window? I'm kidding of course. Home now from the Oregon coast. Always fun to buy used quilting books. What a treasure from your friend! All sorts of nifty sewing machine parts! You are quite gifted to be mechanically inclined with sewing machine repair. I thought about it with my Singer Futura, but decided to just give it away for parts to the sewing machine repair guy. Along with a dozen or so of those plastic bobbins you showed us. Dan's project looks fabulous! How does he stretch it and frame it? I've wrapped mine around cardboard, use tape, and frame it. Not the best way, I'm sure. There's a country cooking restaurant I wanted to stop at for breakfast on the way home just east of Tillamook. Never been. Sign on the door said they were closed today due to equipment malfunction. I had a hankering for eggs, bacon and pancakes. Stopped an hour later at a service station for coffee and danish. I need to set up my sewing machine again now. Thank you for working on the problem with the PDF. The campground was nice. Could hear, see and smell the ocean. Please take care. Here's my blabfest! Marion

      I love those old books! When I have a broken machine, I figure I can't make it more broken by trying to fix it...I am careful not to shock myself! Dan says Thank you. Framing his work is a joint effort. We usually use a board with a sticky backing that we cut to fit the frame we are using. Sometimes I add cloth borders with iron on stuff...and lace...and beads, etc. He likes my creative touches, so that makes me happy. It is scary when a restaurant is closed because of an "equipment malfunction"...stove won't light? coffee pot broken? cook just needs a day off? Danish and coffee sounds like a delightful alternative. An ocean view is ALWAYS nice! Do you take the kitties with you? Have fun resetting your sewing room! See you on Monday!

    I found that rubbing a dry erase marker (any color) on top of a sharpie marker and wiping with a paper towel or Kleenex will remove the sharpie marker.

    Ok I'm chuckling at how opportunity is spelled on the Pinterest sign....funny how our brains allow us to see past some mistakes...or was it intentional to solidify their point? 👏 I'm going to take it that's why when I gift a quilt the recipient sees past my imperfections 🤓 thanks for another great video!

      I think it was intentional...but I didn't notice until you pointed it out! My brain auto corrected that typo! I hope my quilt recipients also auto correct any quilt imperfections! Thank you for sharing!
