I fell in love with this quilt so much that I started making it right away. It is also explained so well that it is just fun to make. So, thank you for giving me this idea.
I’m loving this scrappy quilt block so much. This is a beautiful pattern to work on as an ongoing project while making other projects. Thank you for sharing this with me. 💗
I love watching your videos and absolutely love that I can follow along and learn how to quilt. I’ve made one quilt and just started my second one last week and finished the top yesterday. My sister and I are each making one by following along one of your videos. We live 4 hours away from one another but we hop on the phone and do it together. It’s so much fun!
@@sewcharmingquiltshopwe’re following your video doing the easiest block quilt using the layer cake blocks but we added a charm pack so we didn’t have to do much cutting, lol.
I’ll add pictures in the Facebook group once we’ve finished. My sis has just messaged me and said she’s gonna do a double border on hers and I love that idea so I may do the same thing.
I just love your videos Penney. I loved the hexi and cowboy boots quilts. The Hexi quilt looks intricate. I am moving right along with my square in a square quilt. I literally loved it from the moment you presented the video. Because of your video teaching of the square in a square quilt I now have 10 rows put together already. I’m feeling kind of proud of my work and I am so looking forward to being able to send a pic of it to you. And, I’m sure that there are plenty of mistakes so I will remain humble before God, lolololol. Thank you! I am looking forward to your next video. I have to find part one of the scraps quilt.
Yes I love following you along. You explain things in a way that makes it very easy for me to put together a quilt block. And I really appreciate that.
How interesting your comment. My family was raised (both sides) the next county north of Lancaster county Pennsylvania. Conyngham even sows their farm lands like quilts. High atop the 80's (where I-80 and I-81 interact) I would look down on the small land patches of shades of yellows, greens and browns, and a few lots, laid fallow, scattered with meadow flowers. All my quilts have one fairly obvious "mistake." Yes, God has a way of showing us our hearts when we see others' "mistakes." Nevertheless, the Amish influence over me, looks for order, even in scrappy quilts. This order seems to be purposely avoided in modern quilting.
@@cynthiacruz1119 that sounds like a nice, peaceful, place to live. I’m going to search and see if I can find some pictures. I’m so glad you replied and mentioned it. I use to be very precise, orderly,in all of the quilts I made. The closest I got to the opposite of that was disappearing 9 patches. I am not a fan of most modern quilts. I do like that they don’t have borders. Increasingly, my body is failing me. Unfortunately, I have Multiple Sclerosis. Among many other strange things, my hands, really my entire body, shake sometimes so much I have difficulty cutting straight, sewing straight, … I am a sneeze away from being legally blind. Quilting becomes more and more my peace. My stress relief. I have had to let go of my thoughts about neat and orderly. The stress of seeing all of the mistakes and unsewing them almost killed me. I have adopted a kind of take what you get attitude. I have started making free style types of quilts. I make them in 4 or 6 quilt as you sections. I try to have one thing that ties everything together. I make bigger blocks and large strips. I also throw in what I think of as bits. I just make random blocks from the discarded fabrics and then kind of expand from there. Sort of like half quarter log cabin blocks gone wild. Never the same sizes and just wedged in where they fit. This feeling of freedom from being “perfect “ really has my brain working overtime with the ideas. I kind of makes a bad situation better. I hope that you find that peace and sense of freedom, minus the health issues. It really changed my life. Thanks again for your mention of the Amish and their fields.
Sorry. I thought I said it but I might not have. I say it in most videos so I very well may have forgotten in this one. 🤪. Send pictures to sewcharmingquiltshop@gmail.com please. Thank you! 😁

I think that the Amish have it right. I think that God makes what others might think of a mistake on purpose.

Not interact, but intersect...

Wow. My maiden name is Suzanna Burns. Hello Suzanna!
Penny
What size were the print and background squares initially cut?
Print and one background square at 3 inch square. The other background pieces were 1.5x2.5 inches and another at 1.5x3.5 inches.
Does that cut the tip off of your triangles when sewed together?
Not if you sew a quarter inch or a scant quarter inch.
Thank you
