- In this video I talk about an incredibly underrated wave based zombie shooter game, Killing Floor. No I'm not talking about the sequel here, I'm talking about the original. Killing Floor 3 looks amazing though.

also i want to share my story of kf..i was in 8th grade and had a old pentium pc with somw shitty vodoo graphics card..and at time piracy was really high in India and i remeber we used to get games on cd for like 2 us dollars now days..so i was cosole player ..but due to strictness of my parents my xbox was hidden and then i bought 2 best games stalker and san andreas..and yes with stalker i got kf..man i remeber playing that game for hours hiding in my room ...just wow had so much fun

I appreciate that the sequel looks nicer, graphically. But art style wise I'm hoping the third game returns to the grittier horror look of the original

@@Aric_EPU I beg to differ. Neither the first nor second game ever broke 100k peak players on Steam, have relatively low player counts compared to other games, and are not talked about that much. I love the first game, second is meh, but to say they were “huge”, I disagree.

@@doompunk64 Steam didn't have the population it has now when these games were at their peak csgo wasn't getting 100k players at that time. Maybe not so much for 2 but kf 1 was a game that pretty much every steam user at the time played since it went into free weekend constantly.

Even now in 2024, I still feel like KF1's insanely high skill ceiling in Hell on Earth and KF2's pacing give them both very high replay value.
I can still vividly recall LAN nights where my team would get wiped by a fleshpound that my level 4 demo failed to call out.
I can still find KF2 matches with random pubs to this day, where we can easily jump between serious tryhard mode and "lets fuck around and find out" builds.
I believe that, even while Tripwire kinda stopped caring about KF2 after about 2019, they gave us a DAMNED GOOD game, in Killing Floor 2.
With something like 1200 hours in KF1 and over 3000 hours between two accounts in KF2, I am wholeheartedly excited for Killing Floor 3.
I just hope they bring back Shadow Ferrret. And of course, Mr Foster.
I like how on KF2 I play with randoms multiple times until I just add them as a friend. It’s got some very consistent players still.

mr foster and dj skully both, they need to be constant. the game is set like 80 years in the future, however i'm pretty sure the main characters are clones just like the zeds and bosses and each of your matches in 2 are i'm pretty sure canon. so i wouldn't doubt they bring them back.

@@eshelmen Killing Floor 1 sold around 6.5 million copies and the overall player peak was 24k players at the same time.
It was pretty successful but most have not played it, 6.5 million isn't all that much and CoD World at War which released a year earlier and introduced the zombies mode sold around 17.5 million copies.
So yes it was pretty successful but it's still largely unknown especially today while everyone still knows zombies so this video is likely more for people who have never played or heard of Killing Floor.
Amazing game that the sequel just cannot hold a candle to.

Sometimes they know KF2 exists but most tend to have no idea this is even a thing.
Played this series since 2011, and while I enjoy KF2 for what it is, there's just something about the classic first game that has me hooked, even now 12 years later. And while I don't play the game as often anymore, I still have it as a weird Christmas tradition to play at LEAST one match per Christmas on hard difficulty or higher (don't ask, it's a long story 😂). It is also the only shooter I actually play, as I usually tend to shy away from them. Killing Floor 1 just broke through that dislike and has become one of my faourite games, and certainly the one with the most memories, good and bad 😀

Berserker is easily my favorite perk in the game. Nothing more satisfying than lopping off heads with a claymore as the Zed time flips on. Over 600 hours logged on this game since I bought it back in 2011 for $2.50! I cannot recommend it enough.
I'm so happy someone covers this game, I still go back to it from time to time.
the gameplay is unforgiving, the aesthetics are satisfyingly grotesque, and the soundtrack is just so good.

I heard about Killing Floor during 2011 (iirc) whilst I was in High School from SSOHPKC who done loads of videos on the game, so after watching a few videos from his channel I bought the game very soon after and I played KF1 on my laptop and computer for hours on in every weekend and sometimes on the weekdays…if I was allowed to due to having school lol.
I'm so excited to Kill the Floor for a third time!
what i like about this game is that it brings people together to try and survive so its fun with friends and randoms compare to other games where people are just cursing at each other

2 was absolute trash compared to 1, and TWI ruined it further by greedy ass business actions + terrible optimization.

The way guns feel in KF2 are really great but I like the gameplay of KF1 more since you can actually hold out in a spot and keep a door welded.

I've been playing this game since 2011... And I still do. I can't explain it, but I really love this game and haven't been able to put it down for 13 years. I like everything about it: the atmosphere; various maps in their design and structure, each map is memorable in its own way; sounds of weapons, shooting, explosions and a catchy soundtrack... All this does not let me go.

no clue what class I used to play back then but I always used the akimbo Desert Eagels or whatever Pistol there was. It just felt so badass with the zeds slowmo and soundtrack ofc.
You didn't mention that you can weld doors while waiting for the zeds and throw some money on your teammates
Man, good times this game was.
The music is probably the most kickass I've ever heard. Abandon All is a classic (zYnthetic did an amazing job).
But others like Bled Dry or Containment Breach are absolute bangers.
Only criticism I have of the game is the grind of the perks....it takes...a lot of kills to level up and it matters, since leveling up makes a perk stronger.
Anyway, I might want to reinstall KF1 rn and mangle a hoard of zeds.
As a kid I played the roblox knock off version called bloodfest a bunch since I didn't even know about killing floor then. I love both of these games very nostalgic

Killing floor, along with tf2, were the first games I ever played on PC. It will always have a special place in my heart, and its aesthetic has a prominent impact on my personal tastes. To this day I still sometimes refer to money as "dosh" and I don't care if nobody understands.
please whoever can, make more mods for killing floor, i'd love to see more weapons, zeds and maps as it is a great game and nobody dislikes extra optional content

2000hrs in kf1 and 2500 in kf2.. I love this game and am always down to be a medic. Thank you for bringing some new blood into this old but gold game

Yeah, first KF was really good, but lvling up medic is pain in the arse. I remember how more expirienced players jumped from high places and ran past me or another medic for heals to do it again.
Yeah, exp only for the healing is harsh but resistance buffs you get from lvlup is pretty good, to the point you become a wall between fp/scrake and your more squishy teammates.
Killing floor 2 running around with 2 revolvers listnimg to metal with gore that was out of the world ....
And i remember my mates calling me psychotic because of how satisfying dying light was cutting a zombies head off clean ....
They started doing it and even said its insanely satisfying
i once tried it by my own at cybercafe and i just shat my pants and never want to play it again. soon as i turned out 16, i noticed they made a second version and yeah im back and shat my pants again.
killing floor 2 still gets updated even tho it's been awhile and the community is awesome too. No cayp the dlc weapon is great too

I think the only thing that really pissed me off about Killing Floor 1 is the lack of a sprint option
I got all level 6. It took forever, grinding for that shit legitly takes years. Just dl a map for that shit.
I also wish I had more friends to play this with, because I'd totally do a HoE playthrough
I just got KF1 and 2 for next to nothing on steam sales, I've just started KF2 straight away and it's very healthy online, I hope i can find a game on this as well.
8:20 While I love KF1, KF2 turns the Zed Time up to 11, especially when it comes to anything that fires in full auto.The detail they put into the weapons during slow motion is just beyond satisfying and how you can see whatever Zed is infront of you get shredded to pieces in even more brutal detail than KF1. 10/10 gun play.
Gunplay was one of the many things #2 absolutely RUINED.

one of my favourite things about killing floor 1 is how everyone and everything hits like a freight train. sure you can die in 5 seconds to a fleshpound but you can wipe him out just as quickly.
also i'm 1 of the 5 field medic mains (we are mentally unstable)
sadly with how they fucked up killing floor 2 over the years, i don't have high hopes for the 3rd game (though i really do want to see it succeed)
Killing Floor 1 was my jam for the summer of 2010. But trying to play it now regardless of any computer results in some bad rubber banding or jerky movement, regardless if I play it online or offline. Hope there's a solution to it since it's apparently a common problem for a few folks here and there...

All I can say is I agree with you and I played the crap out of that my favorite map is moon base because you can just stop the enemies and keep bouncing and juggling around them when they miss you I just wish one day that you finally get on consoles because Killing Floor 2 did moon base dirty

A friend gave me the first game and I love it so much, my favorite perk is field medic, so much is the only class I have higher than level 3, being level 5, almost 6

I love seeing recent videos like this talking about how great this game is and trying to get people to play it more... To this day ill never understand why L4D2 is the quintissential zombie game when Killing Floor exists. Killing Floor is SOO much more fun than L4D2, yet here we are to this day L4D2 still has a consistent 15-30k player count. I run a server for this game and although i don't play the game as much as i used to and end up playing KF2 more with my friends. We still go back to KF1 occasionally because it's just a different kind of fun... I'm going to actually watch the video now 😂 Only 2 minutes in

I love Killing Floor, i played a lot when i was younger and then i played Killing Floor 2 a lot too (i actually played a few matches the other day because Helldivers 2 had some problems, haha) and now i'm really excited for Killing Floor 3, it looks like they want to make the game the same or even more gore than the first one and the high quality grafics looks soo good, i hope the gameplay stand up to the hype becouse, if they manage to do it, i can see Killing Floor coming back to be one of the best shoters right now, having Helldivers and Killing Floor would be such a good time to be a gamer, espeacialy now after so many disappointing shoter games that have been coming the last years (coff..!, coff..!, call of duty MW3!, coff..!, coff..!)

Interesting and informative vid, man! Are you not a fan of KF2? I've never played the 1st KF, only the sequel on PS4. I don't have a ton of hours in it but I've enjoyed it here and there both with rando's and Solo. I was excited 'bout the news of KF3 but then saw it isn't coming to PS5 for whatever reason, so that sucks a**.

Do you have plans to talk about the second? It's a great product but it lacks the serious atmosphere that the first one had (only launch maps have that kf1 feel most of the time)

The Medic has a movement speed bonus and is the best class for solo play because you can outrun Fleshpounds
Medic and Sharpshooter were speed demons, Sharp being a "press LMB to delete" class and Medic being virtually unkillable.
They need to bring the first game to consoles. Loved kf2 and kf3 looks amazing

Killing floor 2 was built on an older version of the unreal engine for the sole purpose of being able to run on older specs.
Oh but i played this game a whole bunch. It was so good!
