    Nice. Now this is anime.
With the color palette, tension of what the plot gives to the characters, the song in the scene, and the overall message of what transpired.
It really shows how anime is a difference in art and portrayal of a person’s outlook into their own work.
Truly a magnificent work of art to marvel over

This IS Japanese animation at it's finest!!! This was the Golden Era, the Japanese were decades ahead of their time with this free-style art form!!!
Even to this day the animation still looks incredible!!! I still have the original OVA Laserdiscs imported from Japan on this show!!!

@@fmartin59 A Japanese Pen-pal, this was waaay before the internet!!! We would communicate by writing and mail our letters to each other overseas. I told him about Japanimation, and he sent me magazines on anime shows, I started this hobby in the late 70s into the 1980s.
Also, my college buddies, we were all hardcore nerds and geeks dedicated to this hobby culture. Mobilesuit Gundam came out in 1979, I got my first taste of Gundam in 1981!!! I found out about Mobilesuit Gundam from a relative who was stationed at a U.S. Air Force Base in Japan, he used to send me all kinds of cool stuff from Japan!!
1987 is when my college buddies and I first saw Bubblegum Crisis. In 1988 we were the first to see AKIRA before ANYBODY even knew about it!!! My Pen-pal from Japan sent us a S-VHS copy of AKIRA in Japanese language, so many shows we viewed that were absolutely unheard of here in the U.S. during that time period!!!
Gundam, Bubblegum Crisis, AKIRA, GunBuster, Crusher Joe, Dirty Pair, Robot Carnival, Kamui no Ken, MACROSS, and hundreds of other anime titles!!
I also attend the very first anime convention in the U.S., I believe it was either 1990 or 1991. I think it was called Anime -Con 1991, and it was in San Jose California.
That was more than 30 years ago!!!! My God, has it been that long?😳

What was great about the early anime cons was how the Japanese guests would "let their hair down", so to speak, because they knew the Japanese media wouldn't be keeping track of them.

This was one of the calmer episodes, with nice scenes of Priss not moping around being very vaguely suicidal, and a minimal AD Police body count.
By the way, Leon did not use "an RPG." It was a pistol, not a rocket launcher. The actual projectile appears to have been a bullet-trap type grenade, probably with a plain HE warhead (a shaped charge would not impart enough force to divert the car). Such a grenade is usually fired from a rifle barrel, but Leon's macho powers let him use a revolver chambered in Stupidly Magnum.

By the same token, Mospeada Ride Armor [ie Robotech Third Arc of Cyclones] concepts were also refined for the Motoslaves that could transform into independent robot humanoid drones OR extra armor with weapons for the Hardsuits

Holy (expletive), TWO anime allusions?! Oh...considering both are in the CP genre, the people creating "Cyberpunk 2077" probably thought, "We gotta use SOME motifs rooted in cyberpunk anime. That'll help 'sell' the setting and story."

    Hey
    You.
    Psst.
Ya, the one scrolling by this comment.
Look, the video is mistitled. What they meant to say is the greatest anime of all time.
    No, seriously.
    Completely objective and unbiased take.
I just own all the rpg books, comics, soundtrack, plenty of models, dvd, blu ray and even tabletop miniatures...
    But seriously, hugely recommend.
I won't say it's the greatest writing but it just oozes...style ya dig?
It's a short, fun show at a time when things didn't have to go for a billion seasons or have some deeper meaning.
    What...
    You're still here?
    What are you doing get.
    Shoo.
    Skedattle.
    Go watch the anime.

I was around 16 years old when I saw my first bootleg tape of BGC in 1990-1991. Whoever made those bootlegs back then always cut the endings off which fueled my future purchases. lol since then, I've pretty much bought just about every US release including the Laserdisc's as they became available from Animeigo in the 90's. I still have them today! I haven't bought the most latest blu-ray release only because I have the KickStarter Ultimate Edition.

It's so stupid to think a live remake would be better than the original animation. Just look at Gunnm remake; despite its massive budget didn't give any extra quality to the story. Same with the live version of Ghost in the Shell, and I don't even speak about Disney's live remakes which are total junks. Do you think Akira would be better in live action film than in anime ?

In the 80's, when you put this much effort into Animation, you made damn well sure you had a good characters, good story and good direction.
Modern entertainment is a lot easier to mass produce, and they just make a few concepts and stick it together like a video game.
