Sorry to hear of your friends passing 😔 it's definitely a hard-core sport/hobbie when it comes to competitive racing 🏁 very thankful Max was ok in the end, his back is only just coming good now after 12months. May we all be blessed and watched over when it comes to racing 🙏

Crashing on water is a violent experience that tries to remove body parts, luckily you have a good outcome. I built & raced a 7 liter hydro in Sydney in the 80's & had a bad crash somewhere north of 150mph while testing at Bayview park in Concord. I've lived with limited neck movement ever since & I was "lucky". Get a head & neck support with a body harness like the Simpson Hybrid.

@@joshuaryan1673 I don't think there's a cure for speed addiction, you just need to prepare for crashing. I'm 72 now, still run a jet boat on the Snake River here in Idaho & have just finished building a new streamliner to take a shot at the 500mph barrier at Bonneville. Think ahead & be safe Mate!

Its been 5 months now and I hope he fully recovered from his injuries. Waters a bitch when you hit it going that fast.
He has recovered well, but due to the back injuries can no longer lift anything heavy without pain. But still lucky non the less
boats aren't made for flying, but that is what you are doing, flying a boat. and that is when things are going well. could be the dudes lucky break to get into something less faulty in concept. maybe WIGE where you are at least in something designed to fly.
Yes these bullet tunneldecks fly on water that's for sure! But setup correctly they definitely handle just as well. But experience prevails in the end, have to drive to suit the conditions that's for sure 🙌
I was hoping guy pulled out of the race. Driving distracted will get you wet at the very least
