@@Zairn12345 I’m guessing that, nobody saw the “racing” on the engine? They were not too close to others/water was flat. Just a broken part screwed up their day. You nay-sayers, need to lighten up.
@@mikestone234 I saw some other posts... pointing out how the battery was flat, there was low oil, and that they needed fuel or something. Listen. A lot of the normies have cars they drive and battery tenders with batteries which are always full which they leave on their garage queens. A lot of us country boys don't. When we want to play with a toy, like this boat, we often have to jump the battery or get a different battery to make it run because we just don't care enough about the item we have, because there are generally 20 cars or boats in the lot. We don't have time to manage all of them. Regarding the oil, it's a non issue. It was low; a little bit. Who cares. They topped it off and went on down the road. Then fuel? They had to get gas? I dunno man. The boat went from what... 50-60 to stopped, and that engine yanked hard and STILL didn't fall off. The guy in the video said something about the nut and shaft backing off and that's likely why the mounting plate broke because of the engine snapping back after the nut let loose. That's just poor engineering. Someone didn't either use the proper nut or something else was working itself off of there with some other forces. Anyway, tldr, I still don't think they were playing stupid games. They weren't that close to people, they were plenty fine. If they were close to people, generally after stuff like this happens, those "angry" boaters would have cruised by and gave them a piece of their minds, instead of offering help.
Even with proper maintenance and inspection, I doubt you could have prevented that. There would have been no indication that the rod would fail like that. Glad you guys are ok!
Great to see both of you ok , there was that bullet years ago that smacked the hull in near tipplers and they weren’t so lucky . The 300 hp life sure doesn’t play wow 😮
ALWAYS WEAR YOUR LIFE JACKET. Hard stop. You can't swim if unconscious or be rescued in time if submerged. In boat collisions on rivers, lakes, bays and oceans, it is very common for people to take a "water-nap" due to not wearing a life jacket. You may be the safest pilot in the world but there are still reckless pilots on the water who pose an existential threat.
10 years in the US Coast Guard on the Colorado river and I've seen some real bad ones and these guys were very lucky. The driver is alive only because he had on his PFD personal flotation device. Always were it!!!!!!! It WILL save your life!!!!!!!
Where did the motor break off, was it on a jack plate? Do you know for sure it was the rod throught the tilt pivot tube that sheared first,or was that just a result, could it have been caused by a hose failure near the union on the ram? Just thinking those rods are pretty stout. Another possibility is the bolt fixing the ram to the steering arm on the motor. Was it Seastar system?
My 15' tunnel is under restoration... my hull looks like it was designed by the same person who designed the mold for the Talon... just 5' shorter. Good that both of you were relatively unscathed... could have been far worse. I hope to see vids in the future of the Talon... looks like a fun ride!
I have had a lot of oh crap moments in my life. That one you had was bad ,But could have been A LOT WORSE. This boater was flying past other boaters . Way to fast and to close to other boaters. That motor was cranking out some horsepower above water, now it’s a anchor under water.
😂 You didn’t get it! Your buddy worked an angle to get you a ride with two fine gals on a Sea-Doo! You already had their sympathy and concern, the rest was in the bag!😂 (glad you two are ok though 👍)
So you had no broken bones and your body was floating in the water. And had to rescue himself while you sat and held your wrist. Good thing all my friends are real men
Did this boat need "external" hydraulic steering? On bravo outdrives you need aftermarket external hydraulic rams for speeds above 65mph, the factory power assist isn't strong enough. And then the gimbals can break at even higher speeds, with deadly consequences. Thankyou for posting this.
It was amazing to be captured on film, and to think I wasn't going to turn the cameras on for the short trip home after stopping briefly. Motor is still MIA
I don't see any way you could tell that part was bad. I would never think that could fail. Unless it was visually cracked, but I suspect that was not the case. And even so, if it broke inside the tube, there would be no way to see a defect without taking it apart. Glad to see you both are ok. It's no joke to have this happen at speed. I had a hull delamination, but it was only like 30 mph, still almost went over.

@HorrifyScares. Thanks man appreciate your kind words, I just subbed your channel
Glad his legs cleared the dash and didnt get chopped up. Dammit glad your well
You guys were flying. Really brave for a shake down run. Look Ma no hands.
Wow. I know you Aussie guys are tough, but that was quite something. Glad you are ok bar the aches n pains. Take care out there. And beef up the steering
you guys are having some tough luck down there, glad you guys are "okay".
Holy smokes brother. That’s one for the book of life.
Wow! My hands are shaking😅. I just read the first sentence of the title and enjoyed the awesome 360cam footage and then this happened. I thought it was just fast boating video without crash. Luckily you are both fine!
Tried to save a dime on hoses or what 😂😂😂 next time do your homework, you have to upgrade the hoses. I wouldn’t have even posted this but here’s your click 😂😂😂
You got what was coming yo you both. Play stupid games, get stupid prizes
Why? Because they were boating and a part failed? I don’t understand the logic. What games were they playing?
@@Zairn12345 I’m with you, dude. Looked like fun. Until the steering pivot pin broke.
Ejecto seato cuz!
Glad you’re both okay! 👍
Guy gets out of the water and is only worries about his mate…. 👊
Even with proper maintenance and inspection, I doubt you could have prevented that. There would have been no indication that the rod would fail like that.
Glad you guys are ok!
Thankful you guy's are okay man!
Thanks dude
That's why you wear the Proper safety equipment... 'Nuff said!!!...🫣🫣🫣🫣🫣
Good shots. Glad ur ok
Since everyone is alright it’s awesome you had that go pro going, that clip is show the grandkids worthy. Did you guys go diving for the 300?
Motor is still not found yet..
Gotta talk some bass boys into going out there with their side imagine sonar.😂
brother you and your mate are very lucky people! Wow!!!!! That's the risk we take for our passion..Glad you are ok1
Thanks brother 💙
BREAKING ALL THE RULES cowboys flying in 6 knot zone you guys should not be on the water.
Footage is edited for entertainment purpose, things may seem faster than they appear.
@@BoatzntheHoodshut the fuck up they both should be in jail
@@BoatzntheHood yeah it looks like its just around 6, 7 knots😂
Great to see both of you ok , there was that bullet years ago that smacked the hull in near tipplers and they weren’t so lucky . The 300 hp life sure doesn’t play wow 😮
“I have to go now, my planet needs me”
Glad everyone is ok! Wild times
Damn man stuff went south real quick. Glad you guys are ok.
That merc said “SEEYA”
Glad your ok
Ejecto seato... watching too much fast and furious 😅. I'm glad you're alright 👍
the joys of extreme sports!!
Sweet doggo
Fuarrrrrk insane mate, glad your ok
Bloody really glad you lads are okay. That was a MASSIVE hit. Really shit the steering let go ay.
Life jackets...well done!!
Posted even though u knew ud get lambasted. Good on u. Thx for the education
🙌
ALWAYS WEAR YOUR LIFE JACKET. Hard stop. You can't swim if unconscious or be rescued in time if submerged. In boat collisions on rivers, lakes, bays and oceans, it is very common for people to take a "water-nap" due to not wearing a life jacket. You may be the safest pilot in the world but there are still reckless pilots on the water who pose an existential threat.
Glad you guys weren't too seriously injured.
🙌
Glad yall are ok! Good tips at the end. Noted.
Thanks brother 🙏
@@BoatzntheHood i am curious, how fast were yall going when the steering went?
As fast as a 22ft talon can go with a 300xs brother
@@BoatzntheHood Dang bro! So glad yall are safe!
Keeps good hold of the camera and continues filming
10 years in the US Coast Guard on the Colorado river and I've seen some real bad ones and these guys were very lucky. The driver is alive only because he had on his PFD personal flotation device. Always were it!!!!!!! It WILL save your life!!!!!!!
Great clips glad your ok
Where did the motor break off, was it on a jack plate?
Do you know for sure it was the rod throught the tilt pivot tube that sheared first,or was that just a result, could it have been caused by a hose failure near the union on the ram? Just thinking those rods are pretty stout.
Another possibility is the bolt fixing the ram to the steering arm on the motor.
Was it Seastar system?
We are pretty sure was the rod from the tube, hopefully we can find the motor to clarify for certain so we can inspect the other parts..
holy shit! that was intense!
look like you were in some pain bro, good to see ya's are okay, for the most part anyways
My 15' tunnel is under restoration... my hull looks like it was designed by the same person who designed the mold for the Talon... just 5' shorter. Good that both of you were relatively unscathed... could have been far worse. I hope to see vids in the future of the Talon... looks like a fun ride!
🙌🙏
I have had a lot of oh crap moments in my life. That one you had was bad ,But could have been A LOT WORSE. This boater was flying past other boaters . Way to fast and to close to other boaters. That motor was cranking out some horsepower above water, now it’s a anchor under water.
😂 You didn’t get it! Your buddy worked an angle to get you a ride with two fine gals on a Sea-Doo! You already had their sympathy and concern, the rest was in the bag!😂
(glad you two are ok though 👍)
So you had no broken bones and your body was floating in the water. And had to rescue himself while you sat and held your wrist. Good thing all my friends are real men
My hero
Tore ligament in my knee
Did this boat need "external" hydraulic steering? On bravo outdrives you need aftermarket external hydraulic rams for speeds above 65mph, the factory power assist isn't strong enough. And then the gimbals can break at even higher speeds, with deadly consequences.
Thankyou for posting this.
Faulty part is the main concern here, manufactured parts need more testing..
It is awesome you are both ok!! Speed on water can always get ya. Scary shit. I am also an avid boater that likes to go fast. Thinks happen quick
Boys install a dual steering kit. It's a must for a bait like that .Just saying coming from a marine mechanic. Please install you will feel safer
💯 will be better option!
wow, glad you guys are ok, did the optimax 300 completely separate and go to the bottom ?
Yes it sure did! Once the steering ram broke it instantly turned and snapped the swivel clamp from the sheer force!
Sorry to see you hurt - obviously you were in some serious pain - but what terrific footage! Did you get the motor back?
It was amazing to be captured on film, and to think I wasn't going to turn the cameras on for the short trip home after stopping briefly. Motor is still MIA
I'm glad you guys are alright !!!!!
😮 got a subscription for that crazy footage glad everyone was ok
🙌👊
Damn it man I am glad you are ok, wow, thank god.
🙏
anytime you are running like that you are seconds away from disaster. lucky fellows
What could go wrong in 1 second!
I got to admit your a boss..
🙏👊💙
Testament to how well the talon hulls are. Didn’t spin, or flip.
You are blessed.... to be alive 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Crazy
I don't see any way you could tell that part was bad. I would never think that could fail. Unless it was visually cracked, but I suspect that was not the case. And even so, if it broke inside the tube, there would be no way to see a defect without taking it apart. Glad to see you both are ok. It's no joke to have this happen at speed. I had a hull delamination, but it was only like 30 mph, still almost went over.
