Most people I know that have criticized BotW haven't tried actually playing with the physics engine itself. I thought it was a decent game just exploring, doing combat, and doing shrines... But my current playthrough, I'm actually learning the physics engine and implementing the mechanics/tricks available and it has become 10x more fun. Boomie zoomies are my personal favorite, I use them literally every chance I get. But the other tricks like BTBs, stasis launches, or heck even using octo balloons or korok leaves in combat-it is truly a versatile sandbox.

This might be irrelevant here but I felt pretty stupid after watching him take a boat to Eventide island when I used cryonis to slooooowly get all the way over there.
I also did this the first time, you aren’t alone in that!

Imagine those guys, guarding the top of a mountain, and all of a sudden a WHOLE RAFT just drops in front of you randomly
And then some dude shoots up into the sky from nowhere and lands on the raft
And then kills you all without leaving that said raft
And said guy just kills you and the boys, right after you get resurrected, still on the raft.

If you haven’t done eventide island yet, DO NOT try to keep your weapons by dropping them and picking them up after the quest triggers! Yes, you’ll be able to use them and it’ll make the quest easier, but when you finish it they will be taken away!
Don't be dumb like me and accidently throw the ball in the mud(Did this on my first playthrough). It will be like trying to roll out of a deep ditch. It's possible and time consuming, as you have to constantly stop time, and blast it out
You can just drop then again before completing the quest.
In general though if you do bring weapons, only being easily replaceable ones.

I prefer to do the quest in the late game to make it painless, by then I consider royal guard weapons to be disposable

Imagine being a Deveoloper spending hours on such a cool dungeon only for some guy to be so dedicated to not doing the challenge but winning it
I'm sure theyd think it's pretty cool and innovative how they'd do it, it would only suck if it was just like an easy glitch that everyone ended up doing, but this is just a fun way to do it
Only players who have mastered this game can do such a thing, and the overwhelming majority of those players completed the dungeon normally many times before

BOTW Logic:
Link: freezes something in time, hits it with bomb tipped arrows, and it goes 2 feet
Also Link: Jumps on an enemy with a shield tied to his feet, goes halfway across the kingdom
Also Link: Can't move a stone slab with bombs. Proceeds to move it with a boomerang instead
And that is why BotW is my favorite speed game. It’s so broken.

When the blood moon hit, I had a panic thought, "what if it resets the raft??" Nice little jolt to the blood pressure for a moment.
I was really hoping that, after he got the "I've returned your items" message he would step on the ground and the first "I've taken your items" message would play
Yeah me too, unfortunately it’s much easier in this context to just set a flag (1 or 0) for whether the shrine is complete or not, which is how they choose to show you the first message or not. Once that flag is set by unlocking the shrine, it won’t let you trigger the initial cutscene again
Actually, when he got the final orb in, the game triggered the "I've taken your items" message and gave him the quest right before giving them back and marking the quest complete. That was just edited out.

what if you take the chest to the main island?
It may be something more like if you stand on something (not a boat or cryo because those don't exist as ground or smth) while in some unseen perimeter as opposed to if you stand on these items.
I would love to test this out though, and I will be doing so soon to further this research.
I really doubt the chest has a hidden parameter that triggers the cutscene. It's probably more like "if you stand on something near the island"
