Hey Ray! Love your videos! I have a question for you or anyone who’s doing this specific install. First some basics info: 2015 c300 4matic. (I think thats w205..) Kicker mono sub amp rated at 400 RMS. LC2i line out converter 10” JLw03 as recommended in wedge enclosure Question 1: Reading up on the wiring gauges I found you could wire this single amp with 8 AWG for about 7-10 feet. While I think its always safe/wise to run 4 AWG I’m curious to know if it’s would be ok to use the 8 AWG amp kit I already own? Also, do you have to add in the the line out 12v as a draw on that wiring? AudioControl recommends 16 AWG for their products. Question 2: did you need to take audio feed from both sides of the car? I’m hoping one side of the rear stage will do the trick. Thanks! Love the videos! I’ll share photos/video when I’m done!
LOL I pause the video at the end thinking it was over then read the comments so I had to finish the video. What a great surprise! My favorite is oatmeal raisin, don't let your rabbit pick the winner this time. He doesn't like me. lol
You can use the mercedes fuse block. #72 is an unused and switched 12v supply, so when the car is off, the line is dead. So just use a fuse tap from amazon.

I went with a JD amp which is able to take speakers wires but problem with that is my factory speaker voltage is almost 12volts at higher volumes and the amp can take upto 8volts safely so to combat this I’ve bought me an LC2i. The factory stereo EQ controls the bass level coming out from the sub and so hopefully accubass should overcome this issue for me. Did you select the hi or low on the amp for input?
Low. Higher voltage coming in is because the E class has amplified speakers. Make sure you pulled the source pre amp. If you pulled from the amp your gain setting are going to be wack

Would that make a difference in sound I was honestly disappointed on the outcome. (I have a Rockford p3 15’ and a Hifonics Gemini elite 2500 and I know there’s way more potential!!
They can grab the signal from there. if that's what they were doing then I don't understand why they bothered using an lc2i they should have just gone straight to the high level inputs for your subwoofers amplifier. That particular subwoofer should hit very hard! if it's not then there is probably a tuning issue and the gain needs to be adjusted.
I need to find out what color cables to tap into in a 2015 c250 and the link on the vid isn’t working. I found a schematic but they say rear sorround sound speakers. They look like urs but I see that ur schematic actually has the words “rear speakers”
Nice set of videos for this type of install. I have a '10 E550 coupe and I did go through Visual Ice for my enclosure. I was impressed with the quality and turn around time from ordering. I plan to do my install this spring. The one question I have that was not covered is. Did you leave your factory Sub hooked up or did you "dq" it and just run the JL? I also heard that the newer HK sys7 sub is DVC. do you know if this true? Thanks in advance.
My car did not come with a factory sub but if it did I would leave it. This sub was a game changer for sound it filled the car perfectly. The new benz are DVC confirmed! Did one not to long ago.
Anything chocolate cookie wise. Ok My car has the Harman Kardon system, can I/ should I update this.. Can I do the same thing you did... Thanks Ray, love your channel!
+Christine Webber Harman system complicates things just a little. The speakers are amplified so there are 4 wires going to each speaker. The wire colors should still be the same. If you find out that's not the case then you can pull the signal from behind the radio quadlock

Also my Amplifier is 9 1/16" wide and that amp rack is only 7.5" my dreams of using that location might be crushed :( or can i make it work still?
LC2i is up to you. It fills in the lack of bass in the low volume range and takes stress off the amplifer. What amp are you using, mine is out dated they have gotten much smaller since this video. How many watts and what is the RMS rating on the Sub? If you are resting an old amp then I understand. There should still be room there or you can mount it to the back seat.

For a sub amp installation on a C300 with a Harman Kardon sound system, should the phase on the amp be left at 0 or 180? what is the correct way to set this?

Does the lc2i add to the watts used from the sub? I’m trying to figure out what amp I need for my setup or does the lc2i have nothing to do with what amp I pick? Besides it being a monoblock
the lc2i adds about 10w which reduces the incoming stress on the amp. when you buy an amp just make sure its greater then the sum of all your speakers RMS. In my case this sub has an RMS rated of 300w at 4 OHM. SO my AMP needs to be rated at 400+ when wired in the 4 OHM config. I show you how to do the math @16:47
So... my glk350 has components on the front and mid woofers on the rear doors. However, in the trunk (trunk panel) it has space for small speakers. I was thinking of a 5channel nvx amp to power everything with a sub too. What do you suggest??
It's the 2013 "facelift" model. M276 engine (X204). However, my truck does not have the HK sound system, though it would been easier to add/install everything else. I do too, I like NVX and RF. I was actually thinking of combining NVX with JL's. The sub has to be really small in depth, so the tw3 would be sick (JL sub) and NVX JAD900.5 (amp).
ua-cam.com/video/bS-SDCtH5JA/v-deo.html this is THE ONLY VIDEO lol So a setup like that in the link posted, would be dope, however, I wanna be able to carry my spare tire. This guy didn't care if he gets a flat tire... I do. Hence the reason why I want the TW3 from JLaudio.
+1ELiMusic if you have the H/K there is a factory Amp. You could have that swapped out for a new unit that runs more efficient. You will have to run a new power to that location. From there you have a choice if you want to change the wires going to the door or keep the factory ones. In my opinion the factory wires are very good and can handle up to 60ish watts. It's definitely something you can do and you DONT have to give up your spare tire. You can make a amp rack under the passenger or drivers seat and put the amp there. Same for the Sub you can put the amp in another location and run the wires to the sub.
+bart hill you actually have a few options Cheapest- Go into your sound settings in the radio and increase the aux level Cheaper- Make sure your aux device volume is all the way up when plugged in Cheap- Download an AP on your phone called "Boost volume" and readjust your phone settings Fair- Buy an auxiliary input amplifier they are anywhere from $25-60 Expensive- Upgrade all your door speakers and amplify the entire car audio
Thanks for your time, I am going to try the aux input amp but if it doesn't do the job then I will get a amp I seen at a stereo shop, it's $150 and If it needs a audio controller gona go with the LC2i. On a side note I have a 2004 Ford Ranger that has a Sony stereo w/built in amp that was purchased at Wal-Mart for around $100 I think and it sounds amazing, base, super high volume, crisp sound it's unbelievable, well anyway thanks again for your help your video was the most informative that I've seen for this kind of car.
O yes except I lost about four radio stations that the seek button stops on, it still stops on those stations but there is no sound, maybe because no convertor was used, and the reception on the others stations isn't as good as before.
excellent video. how do i hook up an Lc7i to a 2012 dodge ram 1500 larimer. going to use a kiker 1200.1 amp for 2 subs annd a kenwood xr400.4 for the highs and mids thnk u
LC7i is a beautiful and the signal summing really cleans up the sound.Go behind your radio and use stinger speed wire to connect to your factory colors and hook them into the 7i then from the 7i to your amps. Then run new wires to your doors. It's a bit of work but totally worth it to have the best sounding ram!
Please tell me how to work on this with 2 channels? So without using the bridge. I have 2 pieces 100 watt RMS subwoofer 4 OHM. Do I Need to have 26 per channel or like 13 per channel then?
@@RaymondUrias It's the X-Fire EFX1000.1 and if I may believe the advertisement. It should be 500 watts RMS and 1500 watts peak. The subs are JBL Fuse 2x 100 watt RMS and 300 watt peak at 4 OHM
@@MrArjanOskam ok so I would wire them to have a 4ohm final at the amp. Sqrt(200x4) = 28.28 set at the amp Your only variable is the final ohm, I would recommend 4
You need some sort of line output converter. If you're going to buy one why not buy the best one. This one can take the load off your main amplifier so you don't have to set the gain so high increase the lifespan of your sound system and make it sound better
@@RaymondUrias Hey Raymond so i got a 2011 GL450 not sure how similar the wiring is but here is my thing...i have experience ive been installing audio for a few years and truth is never worked with BENZ b4 ok long story short...i have the X164 model and not sure where to tap in my JL LOC-22 idk but i dont think my model has a factory sub so on the LOC there is left and right + and - so just wanna know simply if you know of where i can get the wiring diagram schematics for it and if no sub factory then which wires can i tap into from the rear fuse box panel on the passenger side trunk..EE thanx brotha great post
Oh and more importantly did you run the LC2i of the amp connects ...power---remote---ground?..Just directly into the Amp connections or did you go off the factory wiring..Thx
Artiom Aghajanyan I would if I ever worked on one lol. You have to be careful with that car it could have fiber-optic audio....if it does it's a whole mess, doable but a mess
Maybe a dead battery check using a voltage meter. I don't know what you did to your car, recheck all your connections and make sure you didn't unplug something. Depending on the age of your car you ESL could have gone bad.
Please don't use a multimeter to tune with. Too much risk for clipping and blowing a sub. Use a distortion detector or an oscilloscope for precise, quality/SAFE tuning. Check out Steve Meade Designs for top quality tools. You won't be disappointed.

Raymond Urias alright I think I got it, I’ve watched this video about 5x trying to figure everything out 😂 thanks for the help 👍
So... my glk350 has components on the front and mid woofers on the rear doors. However, in the trunk (trunk panel) it has space for small speakers. I was thinking of a 5channel nvx amp to power everything with a sub too. What do you suggest??
+1ELiMusic what year is the GLK? Thoes nvx amps are nice and small like the new Rockford fosgate I like them
It's the 2013 "facelift" model.
There's like 1-3 articles and videos of the facelift GLK with the aftermarket sound system
ua-cam.com/video/bS-SDCtH5JA/v-deo.html this is THE ONLY VIDEO lol
So a setup like that in the link posted, would be dope, however, I wanna be able to carry my spare tire.
Did you end up having to run a remote wire to the amp?????
What if u wanna put in another amo..like a interior amp . Do u still have to adjust the knobs on the lc2i
Shawn G yes you do. Audio Controls makes an amp with a built in line level converter
yay part 2 ^_^
Where do you hook up the lc2i to your speakers? In a glc 300?
mbworld.org/forums/glc-class-x253/666457-speaker.html
Tap rear speakers or the behind the radio rear speaker signal wires
Macadamia is my favorite cookie
I have a 2006 e350 and want to make the radio louder than it is especially through the aux input, what do you suggest.
+bart hill you actually have a few options
Cheapest- Go into your sound settings in the radio and increase the aux level
Cheaper- Make sure your aux device volume is all the way up when plugged in
Cheap- Download an AP on your phone called "Boost volume" and readjust your phone settings
Fair- Buy an auxiliary input amplifier they are anywhere from $25-60
Expensive- Upgrade all your door speakers and amplify the entire car audio
Thanks for your time, I am going to try the aux input amp but if it doesn't do the job then I will get a amp I seen at a stereo shop, it's $150 and If it needs a audio controller gona go with the LC2i. On a side note I have a 2004 Ford Ranger that has a Sony stereo w/built in amp that was purchased at Wal-Mart for around $100 I think and it sounds amazing, base, super high volume, crisp sound it's unbelievable, well anyway thanks again for your help your video was the most informative that I've seen for this kind of car.
2006 e350 update, shop installed a jl 1200 watt amp, no convertor was necessary, amp and install $290.
bart hill I bet it sounds a million times better!
O yes except I lost about four radio stations that the seek button stops on, it still stops on those stations but there is no sound, maybe because no convertor was used, and the reception on the others stations isn't as good as before.
Why not the small battery in the boot ? , thanks
excellent video. how do i hook up an Lc7i to a 2012 dodge ram 1500 larimer. going to use a kiker 1200.1 amp for 2 subs annd a kenwood xr400.4 for the highs and mids thnk u
LC7i is a beautiful and the signal summing really cleans up the sound.Go behind your radio and use stinger speed wire to connect to your factory colors and hook them into the 7i then from the 7i to your amps. Then run new wires to your doors. It's a bit of work but totally worth it to have the best sounding ram!
thnk u. i appreciate the feedback. what stinguer u recomend. i have 9 speakers and a built in amp. its a pioneer built in system
also ive heard to connect after the built in amp
fernando gonzalo why, you won't need that amp if you are amplifing them from another amp
Raymond Urias. ya i was only going by there installation drawing on there website. shows two ways. one with and the other without the built in amp
I have a have 2015 Mercedes c class 300 4matic can this be done on mine i want to put a box of 5 speakers and 2 big tweeters.
2015 has fiber going to the doors of some models. It would be best to pull the signal from behind the radio.
Great 👍🏽 video!!

Please tell me how to work on this with 2 channels? So without using the bridge.
I have 2 pieces 100 watt RMS subwoofer 4 OHM.
Do I Need to have 26 per channel or like 13 per channel then?
www.crutchfield.ca/S-5AR14JaRSNg/learn/learningcenter/car/subwoofers_wiring.html
Maybe this will help you see it better
@@RaymondUrias It does not tell me anything about how much my Multimeter should be showing
@@MrArjanOskam you didn't say anything about tuning you're missing one important factor what is your RMS for your amplifier? Not peak
Sqrt(200x4) = 28.28 set at the amp
Your only variable is the final ohm, I would recommend 4
Do you need the LC2i?
You need some sort of line output converter. If you're going to buy one why not buy the best one. This one can take the load off your main amplifier so you don't have to set the gain so high increase the lifespan of your sound system and make it sound better
@@RaymondUrias even if my amp is only a 250?
@@KeithJenkinsJr even more reason, small amp needs it the most.
Oopops
What if the amp and lc2i are both on but no sub what could be the problem?
No signal
Woofer not plugged in
Use multimeter and check everything before hand
how to connect this to the bose optical system

+1ELiMusic Your God damn right lol
Any suggestions on my clk 209
Where did u Get power from to your output converter?
LC2i doesn't need a remote wire and I took it from feed coming from the battery and shared it with the amp
@@RaymondUrias thanks for the help.
@@RaymondUrias Another question. can i just Connect the remote cable from my lineout converter to the amp?
@@babbarsheer8519 what line converter are you using

Im going to do a video how i did mine. Same car but i ran my wires to the head unit :)
That would be awesome

IS THAT A CAPYBARRA?
I am confused how you come whit result from 34,64 volts!?
Ohms law. The calculation is @16:50
👍😎❗
where did you hook remote control to did not mention or see at all
LC2i creates a remote signal so no need to tap into fuses or radios
Oh and more importantly did you run the LC2i of the amp connects ...power---remote---ground?..Just directly into the Amp connections or did you go off the factory wiring..Thx
ok just saw that part so hook the LOC to the amp Power Amp Ground Amp Remote GOT IT!

Hi I have a 2015 GL350 , can you fix a video Pl...
Artiom Aghajanyan comment missing some words.
Hi please, can you record video on how to upgrade the speakers on MB GL 350 in 2015
Artiom Aghajanyan I would if I ever worked on one lol. You have to be careful with that car it could have fiber-optic audio....if it does it's a whole mess, doable but a mess
what this means fiber-optic audio?
If I"m just upgrade the speakers ?? should it work?
Where's the remote wire go???
I seen it never mind
I disconnected my battery to do the job now my car don’t start?
You need to reconnect it 😒 mak sure you have them on tight
Raymond Urias hey. Thanks. I did reconnect the battery, nice and tight. Still won’t turn on!!!
Maybe a dead battery check using a voltage meter. I don't know what you did to your car, recheck all your connections and make sure you didn't unplug something. Depending on the age of your car you ESL could have gone bad.

Raymond Urias I can't believe am watching u and watching u at the same time really a big fan of and ur work
ibrahim manssour Thanks man!!!! May the rabbits be in your favor 😀
Please don't use a multimeter to tune with. Too much risk for clipping and blowing a sub. Use a distortion detector or an oscilloscope for precise, quality/SAFE tuning. Check out Steve Meade Designs for top quality tools. You won't be disappointed.
hahaha doooope!
why didn't answer to question's people ?
