    You always want to connect your amplifiers power cable directly to the battery. The battery acts as a buffer between the alternator and the electronics. It helps stabilize the the electricity. So every time the bass hits the amplifier is going to rob that junction box of the power it needs. It takes about 50-60 amps at 12 volts to power a 500 watt amplifier. The power cable for the amp is just as big if not bigger than the cable connecting the battery to the junction box. Which is why the amp always connects directly to the battery. The reason for the power cable is because the cars factory wiring can't handle the extra electrical load. So it needs to connect directly to the battery.

    I really appreciate the fact that you slow down and actually fully explain what you entire process is this is not an easy job compared to most vehicles especially if you have fiber optic Harman kardon system I have a couple questions though where did you get your wiring diagrams for the car I have a 2006 E350 w211 that I am attempting to install aftermarket direct replacement Android head unit I would love to get some advice for you this is my first ever install and I don't want to give up but this is a very challenging job I am also attempting to either bypass the factory amplifier and add an additional amplifier and two SVC Alpine type R 12s that are 4 ohm to match the factory speakers i have a full list of equipment I can share with you but I would love if you could give me some advice most videos I find online are in a foreign language and I don't really understand most of what I'm looking at if you are willing to help me out I can give you any contact info you need

      I believe they sell an adapter for the fiber-optic models that provides an RCA to the new amp. avinusa.com/most-fiber-optic-amp-interface-for-mercedes-benz-e-class-cls-slk-s-cl.html

    Great video!! Any chance you could let us know if this works for a CLS 550 ? Those. 2 ohm DVC speakers tend to burn up on the Harmon Kardon systems w like 14 speakers. Usually the amp goes bad and begins to fry and smoke speakers before they start cracking. 4 of my close to 20 MBs have done it. All at around 100k. Thanks again for the great content

    Hey Raymond last year I went a little crazy and bought a 12W7AE with a HD 750/1 amp and had it installed in my girlfriends audi which was optical. First day it ended up cracking the front windshield and she was so scared she just left it the bass at 1. I bought a 13W7AE for my maxima with a HD1200/1 amp. That car was not optical. Sold the 12 and maxima. I now have a 2014 S550 with the burmester sound and want to do my own install with the LC2i. Any suggestions on where I can find a wiring diagram for it?

I’ll be tapping into the wires for the speakers but later on when I want to add an amp to all 4 speakers will this be an issue? Since I have to tap into the speakers. Or would I have to tap into the speakers closer to the speaker connection itself? Any input helps

    Hi Raymond, Adeel from London here, I did a non invasive subwoofer install on my C180K, AUX wire to back and additional battery for an AMP, 3.5mm split into two, there is a place to feed through a wire through the side of the seats into the boot/trunk. Without removing seats.

    • @RaymondUrias
      @RaymondUrias  7 років тому

      +Adstronix That's awesome! I thought of doing that but my fat ass needs space and I needed to pass the wires from right to left easily. It only takes 5mins to pop the seats out

    • @RaymondUrias
      @RaymondUrias  7 років тому

      +Adstronix Side question: Splitting the Aux cable were you able to get the Deep Bass? I have never heard of pulling bass from a aux since it's only +/- not the traditional 2 speaker balance.

    • @Adstronix
      @Adstronix 7 років тому

      Raymond Urias Deep Bass is definitely there, only downside it serves only person music so no CD/Radio but it works a treat, 3.5mm to Left and Right RCA splitter then RCAs into mono block AMP. Setting levels works a treat too as tweeters and Mids on stock speakers are amazing, purpose was I was missing that deep low end and it just fills the missing gap, I do have issues with rattle but that's my rear view mirror issue.

    • @RaymondUrias
      @RaymondUrias  7 років тому +1

      +Adstronix That's awesome, Thanks for experimenting and answering the questions. I was always curious about Aux to bass.

    Can you use factory amp wire connection instead of speaker wires connection to run to the amp.
    Do we really need lc2i connector?
    What are the wiring specifications for a 1300 watts (rms 350 watts) and a built in amp of 300 watts? Like 8 gauge or 16 gauge, fuse of 30 amp or 50?
    Thanks a lot

      +Herve Delorme I dunno why they would say that. You can use an LC7i and Amplifier to power up new door speakers and sub any good reputable shop can do it. I have to warn you. Mercedes Benz will void your warranty completely ...100%. Since it involves connecting to the factory wires they will blame any and all issues on interference.

    • @RaymondUrias
      @RaymondUrias  6 років тому

      +Herve Delorme Interesting... They probably think there is fiber-optic audio in the car. From what I know there is but it's not for the speakers. You would have to verify this by actually looking at the speaker. In regards to the brand question.... That is a very personal question. Each person will have his or hers favorite depending on many factors. Money being the main one. I am a JL audio fan so I'm biased. But there are several other good brands like Rockford fosgate, Focal, Mcintosh. I would recommend going to an audio store and listening to each with your eyes closed.

      When I was in highschool I got involved in the great Honda Civic Uprising. Wayyyy before fast and the furious and I naturally fell in love with making a car unique. And since then I can't own a stock car... Everyone can buy a car off a lot, but not everyone is willing to make it theirs. After highschool I applied to a few collages to be an Automotive designer and was accepted to a school. BUT my dumb self was in love with a girl (Not my wife... different girl) and I didn't want to leave her behind so I slammed a door that could have changed my life. We ultimately split and I met my now wife in college. I finished with a degree in Civil Engineering and never lost the passion of working on cars. My wife pushed me to start this channel insisting I would help someone. She was right and in the process I have met some amazing people like yourself and this great community that I'm trying to build.

    For everyone who is looking for a remote connection simply unplug the radio 15A fuse and tie the remote connection wire around one of the teeth on the fuse, then plug it back in. On the mercedes ignition the second position will turn on the amp. I did my own install in a 2007 mercedes c230 sport and next is the 2010 mercedes c300. He could have have simply used a Rca converter and tapped into the speaker wiring and ran the audio cables to the amp. Most audio cable is 5 or 10ft so he would have been done a long time ago. No need to run the negative cable all through the fuse box area or any other wiring. I mount my amp on my back seat or under the seat, so the ac can keep it cold, mounting where the tire is, is asking for trouble. Dust sand dirt water and everything you store in the trunk falls down there especially liquid from groceries or rain, quick way to short out an amp. It only takes onetime for rain or snow to get in there when you need your spare.
