@@futurei0oo Yeah I heard that in the Original script Carlo Falcone had framed Henry as being a rat, but there's plenty of evidence to suggest that He actually WAS one, for example when He's telling Vito and Joe that's He's been doing some research into Carlo's business and Vito asks Him where He got His info, Henry replies with "I talked to a few people I trust" it's not all that hard to believe that He could've gotten this info from the Feds and then went and made the drug deal with the Chinese Gang to implicate the Falcone Family as being involved in the drugs trade, also in Chapter 11 when Vito is driving Henry to the Maltese Falcon to talk to Eddie Scarpa, Henry keeps questioning Vito about His involvement with Clemente's assassination as though He was trying to get Vito to say something incriminating

And also in the same segment he told Vito that he doesn't care that much about Clemente, even tho his "backstory" suggest that Clemente was supposed to be a father mentor to him, just like how Leo is to Vito (well prior to Mafia 3). And during the drug deal he could tell who's a fake cop based on their shooes. So yes there's plenty of point that suggest he really WAS a rat, but unfortunately we never got a proper closure.

I remember playing this game as a teenager. When Henry got killed in the park by Chinese Triads, I have never before driven faster to any mission location as I did for this mission "Exit the Dragon" I went inside of The Red Dragon and obliterated every single Triad with what I believe a headshot only frenzy and I must have cleared out the whole building in like 2-3 mins because I was so angry that they killed Henry. I didn't know much English back then so I didn't really fully understand what that mission's boss Yun Wong meant when he said that Henry was a rat, I finished the whole game thinking that Henry was just a casualty of drug deal gone wrong/dealers got too greedy. Years passed, my English got better and I replayed this game and finished it for couple of more times. Not too much info is available on whether or not Henry was truly a rat but I believe I stumbled upon something that convinced me that he was. In Chapter 11 - Friend of Ours. Vito opens the door and sees Henry standing there. Henry tells Vito that he wants a drink and insists on taking his car. During the ride I realized that Henry was definitely wearing a wire, constantly asking Vito about the Empire Bay Hotel job in which Clemente got clipped and asking if Vito and Joe had something to do with it, mentioning the kid Marty who died in the parking lot, and just generally bugging Vito to get him to confess that it was in fact Vito and Joe who clipped the boss of another family. He didn't need to speculate whether they killed Clemente or not, because he knew for a fact that they did...when Henry was walking outside of that hotel Vito and Joe were sporting those ridiculous moustaches that were supposed to protect their identity from Clemente guys but Henry himself said it that "He saw them a mile away". So why would he need to press Vito like that...just to mess with him? Henry's far too intelligent of a mafioso to do something like that...in that moment I was like "Motherfucker...he really is a rat ain't he?" No made guy, literally no made guy of Henry's stature who's been in the game for that long is gonna ask questions like that because they know better...Henry wasn't introduced as some two-bit degenerate lowlife con artist, he was introduced as a guy who knows the game in it's entirety, inside and out and the ropes of it, a very calm, level-headed guy who thinks before he acts so when he started to ask those questions over and over again, formulating sentences that would lead and trap into confessing the hit I realized that "Oh yeah, this guy is definitely wearing a wire right now AS WE SPEAK". I don't think Vito ever realized how lucky he was that his intellect surpassed his need to "boast" about the hits that he did because if he had spilled the beans in that car with Henry, he and Joe wouldn't have seen the final chapter of Mafia II as they would both be incarcerated in a maximum security penitentiary. Here's another one of my conclusions. I believe Henry became a rat after Vito and Joe killed Clemente. The big boss himself gets offed in the street like it was nothing, Henry feared for his life, in his mind "If they can take out the boss, what stops them from wiping out the entire family" so he went to the feds seeking refuge...he provided them with a lot of info but most importantly, he told them that he knew for sure that Vito Scaletta and Joe Barbaro were the ones that killed Clemente but to prove that he'd need factual evidence...feds released him back on the streets and tasked him with infiltrating Falcone family since he knew two made guys there so his chances were higher in Falcone family than the Vinci family...and the fact is, Henry didn't just know Vito and Joe, he was actually friends with them so that would have given him more chances to be vouched for than anybody else could have provided for him which turns out to be true cuz' as soon as Henry said he'd be happy to work for Falcone, Vito said that him and Joe could easily vouch for him. The Feds also tasked him with getting a confession from at least one of Clemente's killers cuz' I think that would make big news to have those guys apprehended. If Henry would have been able to put Vito, Joe and most of Falcone family away, he'd definitely disappear into the witness protection program and I think that was the original plan, but he got very unlucky when Triad leader, Mr. Chu found out that he was a rat. As cunning and intelligent as Henry was, he met his demise like most informants do in that life, a dreadful and bloody end.

@@stoneharper7038 yeah I can imagine if henry never came back to empire bay, vito and joe would just keep doing what they're doing eventually make capo in 5-10 years. i doubt they would be able to start up their own families unless they moved out of town to other states but i think wrapping up their careers as a capo is not too bad that's like saying hey you finished your career at a fortune 500 company as a sales manager.

Loved his character but the whole time I was thinking is this guy gona stab us in the back soon? Still not 100% sure about if he was a government informant but it makes sense. Those gas stamps that put vito in Jail was his mission. Having you break into a federal building and what not
Yeah the likely of an outside criminal knowing soo much about the Feds right until proposing a job relating to it seems fishy as hell. So the hint was right in front of us since the beginning

I'm palying mafia 2 for the first time but im not buying that henry was a rat how he behaved isn't the behavior of someone who is a rat i believe his death was orchestrated by Falcone as he had the balls to go into the drug trade and not give him a cut of the money and henry knew Falcone had a monopoly on it so falcone set him up
There was a small hint early on in the game when they were ambushing the fat guy with the buzzaw Henry says he escaped Mussolini from Italy to USA and Vito asks how come his english is so good but he doesn't answer because the fat guy shows up. Also the hit is Henrys job but he as a police couldn't go and murder somebody so he got Joe and Vito to do the killing for him. Henry was after Clemente the whole time thay's where you met him but once Vito went to jail Joe started working with Falcone and said he hasn't seen Henry in YEARS. They saw him again at the hotel and once they killed Clemente Henry had no case but his cover was still good. He recognized Vito and Joe and thought it was his shot to go after Falcone but his cover was blown at some point.
If this was made into a movie, it looks like Henry could be played by the actor Josh Borlin. Seeing him play Sargent John O'Mara in the movie called (The Gangster Squad) with Ryan Gosling, makes it look like the role of Henry Tomasino is similar but a good one for him. They even talk and look alike. 😁

9:1711:4019:29 Honestly, it is obvious why Leo separated the two. Joe was known for being impulsive and focusing on the benefits rather than the risks. Joe would be a good enforcer, but as seen in Mafia 3, Vito's potential was being misused. Vito was also primarily following Joe's lead for most of Mafia 2. Joe and Vito were too naive for their good.
Why did you have to turn on me, Henry? We had been through so much bro. In one scene we were like the goodfellas and in the next scene the Asians are claiming you're an informant. Why would you do this to me and Joe?
I bought the Mafia definitive edition. I beat the 1st game but I never played the 2nd or 3rd game. Are they good like the 1st game. I never played the original games.
The 2nd one? Definitely. The 3rd one idk. I guess it wasn't a bad game, just bad Mafia game. But I'd still give it a try, maybe you'll enjoy it more than I did.
At first I didn’t really like Henry. In chapter 3 he gave off a negative vibe when he screwed Vito over about the gas stamp job. Then the same job got him in prison. Overtime he developed as a character but then proceeded to continue to do certain things risky
Also, most of us don’t buy he was a rat, more likely he was framed and the “rat” story was a good way to get rid of him, and allow the commission to try get rid of Joe and Vito. They didn’t think Joe and Vito would butcher half of Chinatown in response, Leo and the Commission then realised just how dangerous Joe and Vito could be.
