What was nice about Mafia 1 and 2 was that you were the grunt working his way into the mob while most other games are the typical "Your the boss but need to do all of the grunt work even though you have a whole family under your belt" the exception is the Godfather 2 game were you were made boss and could take over rackets yourself or order your underbosses, capos, or soldiers to do it for you and protect your business from attacks from rival families
Despite Vito's respect for Leo Galante in Mafia 2, Vito's views about him have changed in the 17 years since his exile to New Bordeaux. During interactions with Lincoln Clay in Mafia 3, Vito will insults Leo and appears to hold him in the same regard as former foes like Alberto Clemente and Derek Pappalardo.
Vito should always be indebted to Leo because without Leo Vito would have died long long back. Leo separated Vito and Joe, but that had some positives overall. In one of the endings in Mafia 3, Vito is shown to be the Mob boss of the whole city New Bordeaux- he became highly matured and skilled mob, which he would never be with Joe.
no joey actually died, after the events of the mafia 2 dlc, they kidnapped him and chopped both of his hands by a rival gang, you want to confirm? play the dlc or read on the wiki for a shortcut
Fate After Vito kills Falcone, the two leave the observatory. Joe is uneasy when he notices a large group of Vinci's men outside, but Vito assures him everything is alright. While Vito joins Leo Galante in his limo, Joe is led to another vehicle with some of Vinci's men for what he thinks is going to be a night of celebration at the cathouse. A short while into the drive, the car he's riding in turns a different direction from Vito's. He was being taken to answer for his role in starting a war with the Triads, but along the way he managed to overpower the men he was with, knocking out the front teeth and cracking an eye socket of one of them. He got loose and left Empire Bay, eventually ending up in Chicago where he turned to a couple of guys he knew for help, but they turned on him. In the end Joe was severely beaten and had his hands cut off and face smashed to hell. When it was over there wasn't anything left for anyone to find. His friend Vito spent a decade tracking down those responsible for killing Joe, finally turning to Lincoln Clay to seek his revenge.
@22:06,that is DEFINITELY Joe Barbaro!!!People assumed it was Pepe but forget that Pepe is significantly taller than Leo (like a whole head and shoulders taller). Why would Pepe look at the camera if he wasn't that integral to the previous entry???I believe the canon ending to Mafia 3 is Lincoln leaves New Bordeaux in its entirety to Vito.....leaving a 4th game open to unfinished business between Joe and Vito.Makes the most sense to me
Mafia 1 will still has the best story and gameplay according to me, I've played it so many times and never got bored, most players out there haven't even played Mafia 1, they started with 2 instead and missed the best part and foundation of the series.
FreedomFighter08 most of the kids preferred good graphics over good story anyway. I bet if they made a remastered version of Tommy's, those might play it and have themselves a taste of a masterpiece
I started with the first one, too. I like the second one the most, by far. I like the characters far more in the 2nd one, I prefer the musical era more, the cars, the history as a whole. Tommy was a weak character that I never liked, I always liked Don Salieri, Frank and Paulie. Many people today commit the same mistake - they hung onto the first game they ever play in a series and consider it the best with anything that comes after it as bad. I've seen it with Elder Scrolls fans who are diehards for Morrowind and hate everything after it (Oblivion and Skyrim) and I've seen it with the Mafia games too. I think each game has it's beauty, heck even Mafia 3. So, don't assume that most people skipped the first game, just because it's not the most popular one.
Valentine Radushev some people, including me, prefer games with good stories anyway. I like the characters and the gameplay of Mafia 2 more than in the first one, but the story of Tommy will always be the best for me and for some who have played it as well.
"Pepe.... come 'ere.... have a taste!" 😁🍅🍝 Coincidentally, it was at that moment, when I first reached that point in the game, which was also right around the time I was learning how to cook. Fallout from the 2008 recession -- 2012, I was out of a job, and couldn't afford to eat out (as I used to, prior).
That's because he isn't a nationalist. He had a problem with the individuals who destroyed his house and tried to kill him. He didn't blame every Irishman for what some Irishman did and so he had no problem working with them.
I can remember those good old days, when played Mafia II for the first time. One of my favourite video games. Storyline, graphics and the music tracks, a rare consummate❤
Well to think about it Leo was still a decent guy. To Vito if he made Joe his worker instead of killing him. Vito and Joe killed alot of people and caused alot of issues. But he found a way to keep them both alive.
Even though some of the skin textures aren't the best; I have to say this game had the best facial designs of all time: every NPC looks like a unique individual, so much character in each face, got a natural mix of good-looking and not-so-good-looking people, did a great job with the character design and models, not all of them look great; but the effort they made to have so many variations in how the characters looked is clear. And I love how obviously they tried to make Falcone look like Robert De Niro.
Interesting detail at 10:44. When Frank Vinci’s talking about dope. He says dealing the stuff “poses too many risks.” At the same time, Vito says he’s “willing to risk anything to finally be somebody”. I don’t know if it’s on purpose, but if it is, that’s some really clever foreshadowing.
If or when they make the next mafia game, it oughta be how Leo made it to where he was by Mafia 2, with the story going from around 1900, to prohibition, the depression, and maybe to the end of Mafia 3. Not sure how they’d make the vehicles and activities work in the game, but I’d add in Casinos, saloons, Bonnie and Clyde style bank robberies, real named figures from history, old characters from all the other mafia games, and maybe close out with Leo quietly passing away while dreaming of happier times.
I don’t man, I’m kinda for a mafia that takes place in the mordern day, I wanna see how the mob uses the politicians as tools and how they stay in the shadows y’know? But that’s just me anway

When Leo said he would have loved to have Vito in the Vinci family got me thinking how the game would have turned out if Vito became made in the Vinci family and Joe in Falcone Famaily
But Leo reminded Vito and Joe are best friends, so does Leo and Vinci are best friends so they’re decided team-up with Falcone Crime Family ‘till ‘51. Leo keep Vito and Joe alive in secret, to avoid the wrath of the Triads, the Commision and the Feds.
Anyone who loves mafia 2 or galante should watch the turkish mafia drama ezel. One of the main characters (Ramiz Karaeski who was portrayed by Tuncel Kurtiz) is very similar to Leo Galante and the show is amazing and you can watch it with english subtitles as well. Tuncel Kurtiz portrayal of Ramiz Dayı is so amazing, I'd compare it to Marlon Brandos portrayal of Don Vito Corleone

They'll make that mafia 4, after a ton of backlash on mafia 3, if they plan to keep this series they should go back on what made the game connect with its fans . Vito is the franchise and they didnt do joe justice in the 3rd game
@@theclassicmanila-style8435 no the Franchise started with Tommy Angelo

be cool if there ever is a mafia 4 they should go back to the 30s or somewere around that era
Rs, like if we learn about leos story that'd be cool .
yeah i know but i meant (go back) to the late 20s or so it would be highly detailed n stuff i still have n play mafia 1 plus the cars would be to slow i like them 30s n 40s era with some good speed doing drive bys with them tommy guns n run from cops n stuff simular to the first one that would be wicked then again maybe play as leo in his beginning days or even like what you said when they first came to america either would be good long as they would go back in time
Demolition Car 67 they needed to hit the 60’s and 70’s in a good way not fucking Louisiana, it should have been Chicago or New Vegas.
Demolition Car 67 the prohibition Era is the best like what we seen with boardwalk empire show
John Knoneborg you've been playing too much fallout.
Yeah, get him a step ladder and send him over!
Been a while since I played this
The real reason Leo had Joe killed was because he heard that crack about "Leo dropping the soap".
This is head canon for me now. Thanks Snazzy
@@fanofgenericwtlalt ayyyy
So it was like the incident that happen between Billy Bats and tommy all because of an insult. So leo had joe killed because of that same nature.
"Like that time old Leo dropped the soap."
Lmao Joe Barbaro is a ball breaker until the very end.
Leo's driver? wasnt that a Joe?
It's been discussed, yes, it's him.
no joey actually died, after the events of the mafia 2 dlc, they kidnapped him and chopped both of his hands by a rival gang, you want to confirm? play the dlc or read on the wiki for a shortcut
Wernher Salem who dlc?
Mafia 2 DLC called " Joe's Adventures "
Fate
After Vito kills Falcone, the two leave the observatory.
I hope there is a MAFIA 4 on the horizon, and it improves on the beauty of MAFIA 2
The ending always cracks me up.
MAFIA III WILL NEVER BE LIKE MAFIA 2!!!!
VIKK I love mafia 3
VIKK Mafia 2 never be like mafia 1
Stfu dude
VIKK there both good games so shut up
I like mafia 2 but I like the new cars and guns in mafia 3
@22:06,that is DEFINITELY Joe Barbaro!!!People assumed it was Pepe but forget that Pepe is significantly taller than Leo (like a whole head and shoulders taller). Why would Pepe look at the camera if he wasn't that integral to the previous entry???I believe the canon ending to Mafia 3 is Lincoln leaves New Bordeaux in its entirety to Vito.....leaving a 4th game open to unfinished business between Joe and Vito.Makes the most sense to me
And just look at the nose. That characteristic nose has the shape of Joe's, Pepe's tip of the nose was more round.

Yep; it originated from pre-war New York.

Mafia 1 will still has the best story and gameplay according to me, I've played it so many times and never got bored, most players out there haven't even played Mafia 1, they started with 2 instead and missed the best part and foundation of the series.
FreedomFighter08 Agree
FreedomFighter08 most of the kids preferred good graphics over good story anyway. I bet if they made a remastered version of Tommy's, those might play it and have themselves a taste of a masterpiece
history fan boy over here
I started with the first one, too.
I like the characters and the gameplay of Mafia 2 more than in the first one, but the story of Tommy will always be the best for me and for some who have played it as well.
one of the best story telling games ever made
Lol i like when Leo said "You hired your friend to whack me?"
Nah we really reallllyyyyy need the game with young Leo being main char... Thatttt would beee badass !!!
Nostalgic af
I miss those days
"Pepe.... come 'ere.... have a taste!" 😁🍅🍝
Coincidentally, it was at that moment, when I first reached that point in the game, which was also right around the time I was learning how to cook. Fallout from the 2008 recession -- 2012, I was out of a job, and couldn't afford to eat out (as I used to, prior).
Old but golden
I find it interesting how in mafia 2 Vito kills an Irish gang and in mafia 3 he works with an Irish gang
Nicky Santello you can tell he really doesn’t want to and he wants all the territory, he doesn’t like Cassandra either
@@saulgoodman2892 Cassandra is awful.
That's because he isn't a nationalist. He had a problem with the individuals who destroyed his house and tried to kill him. He didn't blame every Irishman for what some Irishman did and so he had no problem working with them.
Vito, Tommy, Joe, Leo, and Henry are the best characters in the series.
Mafia 1:OK
Mafia 2:AWESOME
Mafia 3:GOOD
Mafia 2 is the best mafia series game i ever played
Mafia 3 was absolute dog shite compared to the first 2
Mafia 1: good
Mafia 2: masterpiece
Mafia 3: ok
I miss playing this game! It never got old.
"That better be your gun" always gets me
I can remember those good old days, when played Mafia II for the first time. One of my favourite video games. Storyline, graphics and the music tracks, a rare consummate❤
Mafia 4 should should be the prequel Leo story
leo's driver is joe
Well to think about it Leo was still a decent guy. To Vito if he made Joe his worker instead of killing him. Vito and Joe killed alot of people and caused alot of issues. But he found a way to keep them both alive.
Ikr
13:56 he lives until 68 that's hardly a few more years that's nearly 2 decades
It was great thank you so much
Even though some of the skin textures aren't the best; I have to say this game had the best facial designs of all time: every NPC looks like a unique individual, so much character in each face, got a natural mix of good-looking and not-so-good-looking people, did a great job with the character design and models, not all of them look great; but the effort they made to have so many variations in how the characters looked is clear.
And I love how obviously they tried to make Falcone look like Robert De Niro.
15:10 leo had every right to be absolutely pissed with Vito
Interesting detail at 10:44. When Frank Vinci’s talking about dope. He says dealing the stuff “poses too many risks.” At the same time, Vito says he’s “willing to risk anything to finally be somebody”. I don’t know if it’s on purpose, but if it is, that’s some really clever foreshadowing.
Best game story of all time. Love Mafia 2.
If or when they make the next mafia game, it oughta be how Leo made it to where he was by Mafia 2, with the story going from around 1900, to prohibition, the depression, and maybe to the end of Mafia 3. Not sure how they’d make the vehicles and activities work in the game, but I’d add in Casinos, saloons, Bonnie and Clyde style bank robberies, real named figures from history, old characters from all the other mafia games, and maybe close out with Leo quietly passing away while
dreaming of happier times.
I don’t man, I’m kinda for a mafia that takes place in the mordern day, I wanna see how the mob uses the politicians as tools and how they stay in the shadows y’know? But that’s just me anway
Damn what an ending
That look Vito gives at the ending 😳
So I’m gonna say this now this was the best game I ever played in my child hood mafia 1-2 were amazing

@@thatrandomperson6609 It's not Joe and cannot be Joe, stop hallucinating. Joe was executed after the end of Mafia 2 you can hear Leo saying "He's not coming with us" which means they will have to take care of him and then you hear a sad song. what does that mean? that means he was executed and dumped in the nearest river.
When Leo said he would have loved to have Vito in the Vinci family got me thinking how the game would have turned out if Vito became made in the Vinci family and Joe in Falcone Famaily
Awful.
They'd be rivals.
The humour in this game is the best.

Ramiz abey nerde selma ?
Only good thing out of mafia 3 is them confirming Joe being alive
To keep it real the problems started once Carlo found out clemente was into dope so he used vito and joe to whack clemente. Then Carlo started getting into dope which made henry vito and Joe confident about it. And the rest is history 💯.
And don't ask me why I got 2 comments just wanted to share my thoughts, opinions and theories on what I think of the plot of this wonderful game.
