For the record: This was not my idea. But once I heard the idea, I did very much encourage it. And I had a lot of participating in it. You are an EXCELLENT sewing buddy! And very forgiving of my inability to mix a color other than orange!
You did a good Ms Clayton!
Thank you for bringing her fully to colored hair gang (୨୧ ❛ᴗ❛)✧
Way to go with all the support and creativity! We love to see sewing and hair friends!!
Ma'am you did a lovely job on Morgan's hair.
You both look absolutely wonderful! Going to watch your matching video now. Much love to you and the dogs!
YOU TWO. This was such a great project! I am grinning like a fool through this whole video 😍🙌
Maybe you could do something like this with your sewing buddy????🤩
I guess many were smiling like loons watching this, myself included
Morgan’s willingness to just take wild leaps with her hair and, well, basically everything is incredibly inspiring to me
I just like to live vicariously through her with those wild leaps 😆🙌
I know, and whatever she does ends up heckin' cute. It's not fair! : )
Yeah, to me too. I really admire her for being so open to change and trying out new things. A couple of times, I also experimented with new styles, like short hair and coloring my hair. I just didn't like the outcome so much. Actually I could hardly wait for my hair to grow again. But perhaps her positivity and confidence in the good outcome work magic : because she is beautiful in every style. Also, perhaps her inner beauty shines through. I can see she actually feels good in her skin and feels good and beautiful and this helps to look good in every style.
you know what they say-YOLO! gotta do everything you want to when you can :)
Just a week ago I met my best friend of 10 years in person for the first time, and part of our week together included bleaching and dying each other's hair, like some kind of sacred friendship ritual. I am now even more convinced that this is just a Thing Internet Friends Do when they visit each other. It was so delightful to see someone else doing the Friendship Bleaching Ritual!
Adult sleepover weekends are something I need to plan more, especially with my creative friends. 😭✨
Morgan, it's no secret that one of your many 'things' over the years has been your hair. The hairstyle video is epic, but .... further hair shenanigans is even better. I've.... been where you are. I've had long hair and cut it super short. And then played with coloring it.
IT'S HAIR... IT GROWS... YOU CAN CUT IT...
My hair is now waist length again. I'll probably cut and donate soon. At which point it might go back to being easter egg purple again 😀
Anyway.... new dress, new hair, they're both great ;-)
Also... I know those sounds. World of Warcraft, yo.
I’ve had my long hair cut super short several times over the years. I mostly grow it out because I’m too cheap to keep my hair cut short all the time. I actually really like the process of growing my hair out to waist length, and I find it really fun to play with dressing my long hair in lots of different styles. In particular, I’ve really enjoyed playing with regency, Victorian, and Edwardian hair styles. Some of the more creative styles translate really well to modern situations, and definitely don’t look like “grandma hair”. Mostly just avoid the styles that were commonly worn by old women of the time period, and it turns out that the other styles don’t necessarily look as old-fashioned. As much fun as I have with my hair when it’s long, I always seem to hit a point where I just can’t take it anymore, and I just have to cut it short again. It’s a lot of work keeping long hair, and after several years of growing my hair out, I just want a break from having waist-length hair for a few years. So I’ll have it cut short again. And then I get to have fun with shorter hairstyles for a few years. It’s a whole cycle for me at this point.
@@marthahawkinson-michau9611 Yup. My hair is currently the longest it's ever been. No joke. Usually by this time I get annoyed with it and hack it all off. I'm seeing how long I can go before I ... well ... need to chop it, hah.
@@Terahnee I had waist length hair 8 months ago. I had it chopped off into an ear-length bob that’s since grown to shoulder length. It’s going to be a few years before my next haircut.
@@marthahawkinson-michau9611 I did the butt length to bob cut when I was 9 and I don't think I ever recovered. Might need to cut it short soon and watching Morgan play around so much with the results from her big hair change is giving me confidence again.
@@Greenteabook I usually take about five years in between haircuts. Six if I get a pixie cut. I mostly just don’t like getting haircuts very often.
One of the most weirdly liberating things that has ever happened to me was that I got my hair caught in a zipline pulley. I had very long hair in a very high ponytail, and I worked at the zipline place so I was on a special instructor-only connection that kept my head very close to the zipline. I had to be cut free! So I obviously went home crying, and had my hair, which had been long forever, cut to chin length. From there, I had months of growing my hair back where I missed my long hair so much that it didn’t matter if I dyed it, got bangs, got layers, and did whatever else. I realized that it truly is just hair. Whatever you do to it, no matter how tragic or how lovely it ends up for you, it just grows out and you get to try again. I have long hair again now but I kept the bangs. I love them. And I probably never would have tried them if I had been so stuck to my old long hair all this time.
(Instructor disclaimer!!! If you’re reading this, your odds of getting your hair caught in a zipline pulley are significantly lower than mine were! Near zero, in fact! However, if you’re going ziplining soon and my comment has scared you, note that a reputable place will tell you to pull your hair back if it’s long enough to go into a ponytail. This should be sufficient protection, but in some places you’ll be wearing a helmet too, which will make the risk pretty much nonexistent. The company may provide hair ties for free if you ask! Additionally, if you braid your ponytail, it will be nearly impossible for your hair to get caught as it will be too heavy, probably too short relative to your harness connections, and too thick/held-together to get caught between the wheels of the pulley. Also, if you’re a manager at the company where I worked, you heard about me during the managerial summit in anticipation of the 2021 season, and I’m happy to accept constructive criticism on this comment, autograph requests, or fan mail.)
Love this so much! The disclaimer!
Where I live, they definitely make you wear helmets. And now I know why 😆.
Glad, you didn't get hurt. I had some near accidents doing woodworking and renovations and stuff, so yeah...that stuff they always preach to you about (like disconnecting tools from electricity before switching parts)...just do it. It's a stupid waste of time, 99% of the time ...but that one time it isn't... it'll safe your finger or skin or eyesight.
@@raraavis7782 They actually started requiring us to wear helmets when we were doing instructor-only job things the following year. I don’t think my incident was the only contributing factor, but I’m sure it swayed their decision. I totally agree, always(!!!) follow safe practices and use the right ppe!
oh my god! I'm so glad that you didn't end up with a much more severe result. I encourage everyone to experiment with their hair because it's just hair! It's not like a tattoo which is permanent (not trying to dissuade people from tattoos if they want them, but they do have a bit more longevity than a hairstyle or hair colour) - your hair will grow back. If you get an embarrassing haircut 10 years ago it's not like someone's going to look at you now and go "oh haha look at that person's weird mullet or fringe that doesn't suit them." Goes along with my view that everyone (if they have hair and have the ability) should try long hair AND short hair at least once in their life to see what they prefer - regardless of gender or presentation. I had a bob, then grew it out to long hair cause I was jealous of other girls with pretty long hair when I was a kid, realised that my hair isn't so great for long hair (it's fine and I'm bad at styling it), went back to shoulder length, and then cut it to be actually short when I was 17 and I've had it short since then!
I am sorry for your hair misfortunes but the comment is just brilliant.
When you said being covered in glitter is the natural state of being near Angela. My mind immediately went to her dad. I don't know what he does for a living but I can only imagine the comments he as probably gotten over the years. With his only reply being "I have a daughter." 😂🥰😍
What a cute video and big props to Angela for a lovely dye job!
I agree, she did a fantastic job!
New hair who dis?
Edit/ Afterwards: This made me miss sleep overs with friends! Chaotic creative randomness with friends is so good for the soul. It was beautiful to see in these times.
This vibe is Heat Miser/ Snow Miser, but make it cute 🥰 New cute hair, new cute dress, new cute DOGGOS!! This makes me happy 😊
Yes!
This is the crossover we've all been waiting for!!
Super fun hairstyle! I always love your lack of fear when experimenting with stuff like this. Latex medieval dresses? Circular patterns? Cutting your very long hair for a historical hairstyles video? Check, check and check! Gotta love that confidence.
I love the hair! This was a fun video. I never would have thought about leaving much extra of the lace when cutting out the pattern peices, but it makes a lot of sense. Hope you have a great day!
It really did come in handy, we had to do a bit of fiddling with the basting and I was grateful for that extra room.
OH man that gold sparkle overlay fabric...I hope you got some for a future project cause that stuff is incredible!!
I feel the same about the colour-shifting one! haha
@@Cationna Right?? Maybe not together but like a pre-Raphaelite-esque creation
@@juniper2346 ooooooo, NOW you've done it, I can't stop imagining it! Would be perfect!
@@Cationna Or like that medieval-alchemy-astronomer look, you know, with the moon-and-sun faces and the ink lines...somebody make this!!
I just love how Morgan is super chill with experiments being conducted on her hair, whether it be a weird victorian dye or Angela’s many orange hues :D
Your hair is fantastic! And I love that lace in your dress. It's gorgeous!
Thank you so much!
I LOVE coordinating my hair with a particular outfit, especially when I’m making it. I’m doing florescent pink that glows under blue light for a glow in the dark matching set :D
Is being at work going to stop me from watching Morgan's new video immediately? Certainly not!
I won't tell anyone ;)
who doesn't love a spontaneous hair transformation, i mean truly
also yass ion creme bleach! the best!
Loved showing how two different body shapes in the same silhouette can work when the clothes are properly fitted!
I have a question. Did you consider adding the overlay's embroidered border along the skirt hem?
Nah, the brown scallop look of the overlay's border wasn't doing it for me
"I think we're both mothers-of-the-bride" Priceless!
This is so fun!!! I love the fabrics, the hair, the finished dress, and that you had a fun time with Angela!!!
You revealed your hair and brushed it out and I was STRONGLY reminded of my grandma-she wore her hair in a similar style most of her life. Then the DRESS is totally something she would have worn. She was a BEAUTIFUL lady. I have pictures of her from the 40’s and 50’s. Thank you for bringing her to my memory.
Also, I would have picked those fabrics, too, and would TOTALLY WEAR THEM. And the hair colors, too b
Allll the feels from a long retired vanilla WoW player with that sound clip. Thank you ☺️
"we are both mother of the bride" LOL
When I found out I have a life changing disability, I decided to go crazy and I've died my hair bright pink. I LOVE IT.
You GO GIRL!!! Be positive!!! I’ll keep you in my prayers!!!
Attitude is 90%of the battle!!!
What a fantastic way to boost your mood! I've been meaning to do something to mine, and had been using my disability as an excuse... I shouldn't do that!
Keep looking after yourself, and remember to let other people look after you too!!!!!! xoxo
@@housemousell man people say their disabled and the reaction is immediately “ill keep you in my prayers”
like i get it but they didnt say life threatening, they said life changing
and what do you think the prayers will do? if its chronic it wont magically cure it, they didnt mention needing surgery or anything
it kind of feels like the second someone mentions their disabled its an immediate jump to “nooo your broken!! omg ill pray for you!!!”
sorry im being such an asshole today but this type of response really really annoys me
Lol, a costuber’s natural habitat! The local fabric store or Joann Fabrics 😂
this was absolutely delightful to watch. the end result of both the dress and the hair was just phenomenal!! a++ on both :)
I absolutely love how the fabric combination turned out! The dress and hair look great!
I haven't played WoW in years, but I still recognized that "quest accepted" sound effect at 0:24 and "quest completed" sound effect at 18:33.
This highlights your steely-blue eyes so beautifully!
This is absolutley the collab I've always wanted!!! Admittedly, I've been a subscriber of Angela for years now and just a recent follower to Morgan, but i absolutly adored this dynamic!!! Angela is so much more goofy than she let's herself be in her own videos I love it haha. Also being a subscriber and trying to peak at upcoming projects for Angela was quite fun lol. Hope you guys collab again!
"I think we're both mother of the bride." 😂 😂😂
I slept wearing a tuque for months while my hair was TARDIS blue.
Kept my pillowcase clean, and my ears warm at night!
Love the addition of that little contrast band at the seam line under the bust. It makes it look like you have the most adorable little matching crop cardigan on over the dress 😊
This, and the companion on Angela's channel, is a delight! I laughed and laughed. I LOVE how your hair turned out. Cute.
Yay for new dress and fun hair!! They came out so pretty! (For both sets of hair and dresses!)
Also seconding Brooklinen! I just got some sets from them and recently started using them and they’re nice! And I had a small issue with an order and their customer was awesome at getting that fixed right away! (After all, who wants to deal with a company whose CS is a PITA?)
That's awesome to hear!
Morgan you have such an inner spritely-ness and the hair just reflects it so well. Beautiful dress - both of them. Love you both!
The obligatory pupper petting scene makes me happy. Also the warm and cool color contrast between the 2 of you is gorgeous ans adorable
I absolutely love your transformation videos. I really love the vintage with a touch of modern whimsy. You have made my day delightful and I am now digging through my patterns to see if I can do a little transforming myself! Thanks so much!!! Beautiful
This video has just pointed out that I thought Morgan was taller lol
I had the thought that Morgan was as tall as I am (also a Morgan) and then she stood next to Angela and I'm like Angela is not a giant???
Angela is not a giant, but she is tall, to the point of always adding some length to her skirts when she cuts out patterns
@@terezar880 yeah lol, she's about my height and for some reason I was thinking that Morgan was as well. Maybe because she looks tall with how she frames her shots
The ladies crafting together is my favorite thing!!
Pro tip for Hair dying! Use the hair in your hair brush for test strips! (best if you already know you aren't allergic)
This was a TON of fun to watch and both dresses came out so cute! Collabs like this can be so much fun and enjoyable and I am 100% on board. And I am madly in love with the colors chosen for your hair! Having an entire sunrise in your hair is the best mood ever! I love it!
I love how adventurous and free spirited you both are without being vulgar. This was such a warm and welcoming video.
A creator that I like collaborating with another creator that I like? It's like entertainment squared! More fun per fun! Love it!
Also, the matching dresses with the matching hairs is *chef's kiss*
Love how the skirt turned out... those embroidered flowers reminded me of those medieval tapestries.
I love watching you both having fun. That’s what life should be about. Exploring and trying new things. We, humans, are creative and curious by nature. Love the hair! I decided last year I’m going natural. I’m 58 years old and yeah done with hair dye. My natural look is absolutely beautiful. Love the streaks of blonde, white and light browns. The dresses where amazing. I had fun watching you guys. It made me smile 😊. Your friend Diane ❤️
After you took your hair out of the pincurls, I am now getting Nicole Rudolph vibes!
The WoW sound effects are just cherry on the top! Lovely dress and hair! 🧡
YESSSSSS, I was really hoping someone would recognize that. It's been years since I've played WoW, but I have very fond memories.
I was about to write the same thing! Glad I'm not the only one who heard that
I was also about to write the same thing lol. Now if we could just get the WoW devs to learn how to create better gear designs from you, Angela and all of the wonderful youtubers who make beautiful things, we could have beautiful transmogs in WoW.
Was going to mention this, but thought I'd check the comments first :)
Love your hair. And you're not afraid to experiment. Your 500 years of hair styles video - epic. Dresses turned out beautiful.
Ahhh Morgan, your hair looks amazing! I’m getting all the autumnal vibes and now I kind of want to do my hair like this as well! Angela did a fantastic dye job and both of your dresses came out great!
WELL, that all looks just DANDY.
I also need a Sewing Buddy. Excellent work Morgan
Brad Mondo would be proud of you, Angela! Not only did you do a test strand, you sectioned! 🙏
Hello! I hope you had a happy day! I went plant shopping with my youngest daughter and we had fun, Now, I get to watch your video. I hope you have a wonderful week ahead. Thank you for this video and your talent.
A wonderful colab full of friendly positive energy that I needed today. Thank you both and you both look stunning in the finished dresses! Plus I'm always hyped when you do anything to your hair. I think the dye looks very cute, good work Angela 👍
Can't wait for part 2 where Angela visits your place and goes medieval
i don't know why but this collaboration feels EXCEEDINGLY WHOLESOME
It's nice to see Morgan starting to break out of her shell and do what she wants to do lately. As long as it's truly what she wants I'm all for it! If it's not then I hope she is okay! 💙
both dresses came out GORGEOUS !!!!! What's interesting is that they both look like completely different dresses, because of the different colors/fabrics and choice of trim. Am loving how Morgan's new hair color complements the dress. 💋
Looooooove the pretty Spring dress and matching hair! I did a similar thing two years ago, but with lilac purple. It was so fun! I’m having a major facepalm moment though: my husband and I JUST bought Brooklinen sheets! And we did not get 20% off! 😢
Your IG subscribers really made a good fabric choice for you! I enjoyed this immensely, thank you both!
Your dress and hair turned out soooo beautiful! The colors in your hair suit you and will go with most colors so you don't have to worry about clashing lol What fun! Angela's dress was also beautiful, those blues!! Hope you are having a wonderful day being back home. Thanks for sharing!
love your creative process/engine/mind. making a dress, designing a building, creating a new dish. it's all the same. takes a free and playful mind ready to try something different every time.
Super cute and super fun (both the hair and the dress)! Thank you for taking us with you!
Constantly forget how tall Angela is until shes standing next to other people😂 she always says shes tall but I lose track of that and it's thrilling to be reminded like this.
(Also y'all did such beautiful things! But you knew that)
Some people sew because they’re interested in innovation and learning on the dress form - others enjoy the security of a pattern. You’re an innovator Morgan and thank God for us that you are!
I absolutely love the colour coordination you chose for this pattern.
I love the whole silly cheerful fun energy of this video, but I'm especially amused by Morgan using two straight pins to hold her lav mike to her dress 😂
This looks like it was such a fun weekend and both dresses and your hair turned out so pretty 🧡💙
This dress is gorgeous! You two did a lovely job on making the matching hair and dresses, it looks like such a fun weekend!
I loved this collab! You two looked like you had so much fun and both dresses are adorable.
I LOVE your colorful hair! It's gorgeous!! God job Angela!
Angela did such a lovely dye job on your hair! The oranges have spoken! And your dress is so pretty!
So excited to see new content from you! I found you while I was sewing costumes for a play at school and a cape for my son's Renaissance cos play. You have helped me to more than doubled my skills, watching you over and over. Thanks for introducing me to your community of costume makers. Your level of skill and confidence, along with your creativity and charm have been an amazing source of inspiration. I'm sure that if I was 30 years younger I'd be hanging out with more people like you.
Stunning dresses and the hair colour really suits Morgan and Morgan looks stunning as always.
I love seeing you move into new and interesting sewing projects! It's so fun!
I love that you're willing to just got for it! Your hair and the dress looks great!
Adorable!! Both of you ladies' looks were so lovely!
I love the way the hair & dress turned out! The fabrics work perfectly together.
Morgan, you and Angela had way too much fun on this project. I have been following Angela for at least 5 years and saw her video on this subject. Did not realize you too had made your version of project. Your dress turned out beautifully as does your new hair colors. And Angela never disappoints. Thanks.
I originally subscribed for your historical dress stuff, but I'm so happy to see the turn down chaotic spontaneous projects route. Including and not limited having Angela dye your hair
This was so much fun! Thank you for taking us along for the ride. The project was neat, the hair was awesome and I loved the finished dresses! And cute puppers!
I loved how beginner-friendly it turned out, your little tips are really helpful!
Love that overlay fabric so much. It would look beautiful on a wedding dress
Love the dress and the hair color! So fun! Angela has to be the best person to do fun color with ever!
So pretty, so adventurous! I love it. The hair colour is adorable.
it was love at first sight for me with that pattern! and the finished product looks magical! time to look for something similar to it~
I started drooling the instant I saw the gorgeous embroidered fabric. I love the two different sides of the orange fabric for contrast buttons, cuffs, and waist accent. Thanks for the idea of a waist tape as well. I love pincurled hair then when you found the fabulous hat that was the exclamation point for me. Now I want to make this pattern as I have the foundations already (long line bra, girdle, and petticoat for floof if needed).
I made a 1950s wiggle dress out of the blue/green version of that glitter fabric. My serger was coated and I was finding glitter in my sewing room months later. But it was so worth it.
This is so stinking cute!!! I love the different look. So much fun!!
Oh those dresses! Wow. They are both stunning! Great video!! Love the hair!
I love that you two ladies are friends!
I enjoyed so much watching both of your videos on this project.
Much love and peace to you
This dress is so you Morgan. Delicate, fun, cheerful and sweet!
So cute! A ✂️ above the rest! Thank You both for being inspiring awesome people.
All the colours and shapes looking really good together 👍👍 I'm so happy you had fun with Angela too, her channel is awesome! 💜👍
Gorgeous and I love the matching hair!!
As an idea: we use heat erasurable pens. You paint in the fabric, sew and when you iron the seams the marks disappear! It's faster than using water soluble pens.
CUTE! I love her overlay method - that skirt is GORGE. And yay puppies!
