You guys are good eggs, thank you for doing that! It will be exciting to see who's going to win. I wish they both could win though, they did a terrific job😁😁😁
People find their art in so many different places. Prom outfits made out of duct tape? Two incredibly talented and creative people. Good luck to both of you.
It's not a trend, it's a contest. This is another absurd contest that kids bet their lives on for a chance to get a scholarship. And, because it from the Duck Brand already, it's all kind of terrible in the long run. I mean, considering how many people enter each year and how much you need to spend to make a dress or tux out of duct tape, they probably make much more than what they award.
@@YYC403NOYP Not really. The top prize is $15,000. Which barely covers a single year in an average college(and that's for in-state costs in the US). You would still need to apply for grants and other scholarships; while spending weeks, to a few months, making those duct tape outfits. It would be cheaper and easier to apply for other scholarships that only need your report card and maybe an essay. There's over a million offered in the US alone and most of them don't require purchasing from a brand.
I didn't know it was an actual thing ever 😮 everyone i knew bought a dress within their price range and style 😮 only one girl (not poor) showed up with jeans and a rock t-shirt
wow both are amazing! I personally LOVE the tux! and to find out they knitted the vest with duck tape as well?! mind blown. The flowers on the dress are pretty great though. Thats a tough decision.
I love crafting with duct tape. I can’t imagine creating something so intricate. I would have loved to know if they ever make any clothing using other materials.
Wow. That dress. Duct tape?? Not exactly the easiest medium to make a dress out of. The tux is super cool and so New Millennium. Even if you don't win, that's superb creativity and artistry.
You got my vote!!!! We had a class at my fashion design school on making garments out of non-traditional materials and that class, which I couldn't take, was impressive! One kid made a bikini out of shredded money she said she got from the Treasury Department. Very impressive garments and I hope you both win (but I'm hiding my duct tape...)
The other finalist KNIT THAT SWEATER FROM DUCT TAPE wtf 😮 Both are super talented. Future fashion designers in the making! Both are winners in my book. 🏆 🏆
I can't imagine it's comfortable at all to wear...stiff and plasticy, and doesn't breath at all. Like wearing scratchy vinyl. Designs are great, though!
At least there waterproof. And they are 1 of a kind. Anyone say Macgyver, he would definitely get a kick out of it, considering the character used duct tape for everything.
@@cindyheazlit938 Ikr? Literally the only thing they have in common is “butterfly theme”. I don’t think this person knows what the word “knockoff” means.
This is amazing, wish they were getting more money for their hard work. May her late grandmother rest in peace.
This is the kind of news we need to see. That dress was amazing.
I went online and voted for them both to WIN!
Ty for the suggestion. I did too!

Wow.., win or lose, that girl has a bright future ahead!!
I’m very proud of all of them
The butterfly dress the best here!
Wow! Beautiful! Hope her butterfly dress wins, its beautiful!! Christopher Lowe would be proud!!!
I didn’t even know they did these still! So glad to see the tradition lasts.
That knit sweater was insane!
Great contest all around.
Both are inventive and brilliant. They both need to win!

This is honestly incredible
I wish they ALL could win a complete scholarship ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I didn’t know this was STILL a thing. I had a duct tape corsage for prom 2007.

@@labj143For the winner it's worth it. Simple ARITHMETIC.

@@labj143 15K minus duct tape cost is better than nothing.

Loved that show!
I love both designs. You can tell how creative both contestants are. Good luck!

She is amazing and stunning

Wow, I am thinking this could really take off. Like we might see something of this nature at the MET Gala in the future.
NEW YORK IS JUST DIFFERENT.... ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ #ILoveNYC
I’m so glad this is a thing!
The dress she made is MET GALA level I hope she wins
Project runway… the unconventional challenge
That suit is amazing!
I vote for both for their creativity 😍
the dress hands down!
Omg stunning! I wish I could show you outfits I use to make as club kid back in the 2000s . Omg did I just say 2000s. Me cry now!
Micarah Tewers won this once…It’s still going strong girl…These kids did really awesome jobs…🎉🎉🎉
Wow. That is pretty awesome ❤

I love our youth❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
WOW! That’s impressive girlie!

....and we thought duct tape was only to hold up car bumpers.......incredible work
Amazing minds
Wow. Unbelievable. Good for them!
🥰 bravo!!
I also like the toilet paper 🧻 wedding dress challenge 😊
I love them both! They should get an invite to the MET BALL!😊❤
I’d love to see Taylor Swift in that prom dress…it’s exquisite, delightful, fun and clever, and perfect for Taytay!
Beautiful
I love you, Jessica Ahn!
WOW!!!
Amazing
0:07 what do they put on inside so it doesn't stick to them? Beautiful.
Awesome!!!😊❤
so great
Love it!! ❤❤❤
Wonderful!😊
Inspired by … “Dysfunctional Flying Incidents “ 😂

both very impressive!! my vote is for the tux
Funny, Luly Yang designed monarch butterfly dresses 20 years ago.
❤❤❤
Omg, she should go to school for fashion designing lol.
I want to know how she knitted a sweater from duct tape. But anyway, these are some really talented teens. WOW
Preferred the dress over unwanted suit.
Probably cheaper to buy a dress, duct tape ain’t cheap
Looks like an item from mugatu’s derelict collection
17? She looks 29
15 Thousand dollars is definitely not enough at all.
Fifty thousand is more like it👍 👌
Has Josie heard of Mister Tumble?
I hope its reusable. How do you clean something like this, if it is.
They are both winners. I would declare a tie and double the prize so they both win.
In wish they would recycled material.
All girls are not the same
Hold on I gotta pee (takes out scissors)
That butterfly dress is a knockoff of the Monarch Butterfly dress by Luly Yang 2006.
They are very different from each other!
@@cindyheazlit938 Ikr? Literally the only thing they have in common is “butterfly theme”. I don’t think this person knows what the word “knockoff” means.
It's just a butterfly dress... only thing in common is the girl being Asian stop.
Poor people are crafty like prisoners are
I’m sorry but no ☹️
Duct tape bum suit for a girl. Sorry, no.
I don’t like her
And? Lol
??
What are you 5
