Shivers is another good body snatcher movie. It’s basically the exact same plot as Invasion but with Cronenberg’s signature body horror and weird sense of eroticism.
I was waiting for you to mention one of my All-time favorite childhood movies, The Hidden with Kyle MacLachlan about an alien worm that takes over bodies and does mayhem. Oh, and you forgot Gabrielle Anwar from that Body Snatchers remake, and later Burn Notice series with Bruce Campbell - I think she's one of the most beautiful actresses ever!
I’ve honestly never even heard of a the Hidden 🤔 will definitely look that up! I definitely didn’t forget about Gabrielle Anwar!! lol I didn’t say her name but definitely talk about her, even bring up her being naked in the movie hahaha

Oh, I think you'll love The Hidden then, it's like if The Thing was in LA, and liked rock music and fast cars. 😁 There's also a DTV sequel, that for once continues right from where the previous film left off, even reusing most of the ending scenes, but sadly it's no good.

I’m a big fan of Body Snatcher movies and I absolutely love the 1978 remake starring Donald Sutherland. I was surprised to hear that you didn’t like it, but that’s cool, everyone has their preferences. That film along with The Thing (and The Fly & The Blob) are typically considered to be the best remakes of classic sci fi/horror films. But I have to say that The Invasion was a major disappointment (I’ve only seen that once, so I will definitely check it out in 4k as I’m a big fan of Nicole Kidman). But I remember it being a really disjointed and cut down movie that didn’t make any sense. Thanks for the video and sharing your thoughts!

100% agree about Disturbing Behavior - it's awesome, I grew up on it along with The Faculty, and both have great soundtracks too! That's another thing that's missing from 'modern' movies, is use of awesome songs. We used to have rap, rock, and electronica in horror, space films, and the rest. Now it's all same boring orchestral score... while good music often makes or breakes a scene, and consequently the whole film. I think people like Tarantino understand that, but most don't. You could make a video about that! Like best soundtracks, and how it all disappeared.
Yea I’m going to pick up the Disturbing Behavior soundtrack tonight, found it for $2.50 at a shop here. I 100% agree! We don’t get great soundtracks in movie anymore. It’s all modern radio hits that don’t age well.

My issues with Jordan peele is he got so much credit for being the next greatest thing in horror and so creative and innovative and literally all of his scripts are rip-offs of Twilight Zone episodes LOL

This is a favorite genre of mine and i have seen nearly every single one you mentioned. I was dissapointed that Arrow did 'The Invasion (2007)' over a superior film like 'Body Snatchers (1993)', as it is a pretty weak modern remake of the film with very little new to add unlike the other mentioned. I love 'The Thing (2011)' its great as a prequal but have to disagree on Stepford Wives, i much prefer the dark 1975 original over the comedy esk non-serious 2004 version.
Yea someone needs to do the 1993 film so bad! I really like 2007s Invasion, my only disappointment is that Arrow isn’t doing a 35mm restoration of it cause it was shot on film, but it’s all not 30yrs old so it’s probably not in bad condition. The 1975 Stepford wives was so boring to me hahaha but I’m not a fan of 70s movies, I’m trying haha I’m slowly getting there
@@thelastmoviestanding I was born in the 1980's but i always make it a rule of mine to watch films made from all decades as the best version of a film or story isnt always the newest. I know you already do this but a lot in the community dont. Everyone is entitled to their favorites as film rating is so subjective to the person. Cool video though, my other favorite genre is Zombie and non-cheesey SciFi films

Assimilation is a newer body snatchers movie it’s decent but nothing special. The 78 Body Snatchers is my favourite of the main line of films, and the 93 version is great too. I love The Faculty and Carpenters The Thing is my all time favourite movie.
I respectfully agree & disagree hahaha yes it’s definitely more mind control but I would consider it a form of body snatching even though it’s not aliens. Either way, high recommend for people who have never seen it

You say Body Snatcher I immediately think of Val Lewton's 1946 flick. Karloff's best performance IMO.
