Listen to the girls screaming! Went to see them in BELFAST and there were girls screaming and fainting all over the place!😂😂We were MAD about them! Still love them and I’m 59 now!
@@rosemarymurray8256 I think I went through faves of them all at one stage? 🤪🤪🤪I remember going to see them in BELFAST and there were girls fainting everywhere and we were just enjoying it - we were just mesmerised by it!! They were GREAT though . Still on my UA-cam Playlist and I’m now 62.🤪. Go The Rollers!🤪🤪😂😂💕💕
One Of The Bay City Rollers Lived Near My Mum's School In Edinburgh. My Mum Used To Listen To Them And Dance To Their Music At The Disco When She Was A Teenager In Late 1974.
Fun days. The lads could sing/play & could also write good songs themselves given the opportunity. They were "huge" in the mid 70s. We were spoilt: BCR, T-Rex, Slade, Sweet, Osmonds, Bowie, Queen, Status Quo, Cat Stevens, Bee Gees, & many more. So many artists of this era do not get the respect they deserve. The media heads seem to bypass much of the 70s and prefer to incessantly sing the praises of The Beatles, it's a good earner. I'm a Beatles fan, but not to the exclusion of so many others.
How old am I? I saw them back in 1976. Fantastic show, and watching these vids brings it all back. I still have my Eric Faulkner scrapbook I made...lol. This is a great song.
i grew up listening to 70s and 80s and i'm in my 20s. i remember the first time my mom showed me this video and i'm like heyy this ain't bad!!! loved them ever since (:
It is so refreshing to reminisce and see the old bands actually enjoying the music they perform. Eric jumps around dancing and always smiling! :) Love that! Nowadays it seems like so many bands are so emo, or they act like they are gods and gangsta onstage (ie: Rap), or otherwise they are portraying some angry-like personae. I wish I could turn back time.
Derek is lovely and he's a compassionate kindly man . Did you know that he became a cardiac nurse and cared for his terminally ill father? I think that says what kind of a man he is . Both he and Alan had a wicked sense of humor too . Check out Angel Baby and watch Derek pulling faces at the camera. When drummers get bored...... All in good fun but we get to see a bit of his real personality shine out .
I still love these guys they were all over my walls as a kid..........now I am a mom and my kids hear me listen to these guys and think I am insane. Les used to drive me wild..........smoochies..to the BCR.woohoo
All of me loves all of you for ever. Thanks for the best time of my live. I love all of you for ever. Kisses from Kerstin and to my best. My Idol Stuart Woody Wood ❤️
I agree. I don't believe that the stuff was his, I believe that someone set him up...maybe possibly their ex manager Tam Paton. Obviously someone has a grudge to bare. The press no doubt had a field day because of who he is. Shame on all those who chose to believe it. Leave Derek alone he deserves better. Keep on Dancin Derek.
I was cycling home from work one night listening to a radio documentary about the Rollers and it was absolutely brilliant. Theres a great film dying to be made. They were cheated out of millions, McKeown killing an old lady in a car, Their manager who was a predatory gay and was later charged with child molestation and they also did a TV show with witchiepoo in the U.S.!!!!
Fabulous. Glad they are making a comeback. Wish them every success they deserve it. They have made millions of people happy and are still making them happy. December concert practically a sellout. Ive got my tickets for the Glasgow one and also saw Les in Ayr. Fantastic night, great atmosphere
All These Teenagers Ages 15 to 17 Were Dancing To "See My Baby Jive" By Wizzard, "You Won't Find Another Fool Like You" By The New Seekers, "20th Century Toy" By T Rex, "Tiger Feet" By Mud, "Waterloo" By ABBA, and "Sugar Baby Love" By The Rubettes, and "Shang A Lang" By The Bay City Rollers way back In October 1974 at A Disco In Glasgow On Friday Evening.
In their day they made a lot of youngsters happy, I dunno what they've done or what you feel they derserve but they spread happiness and that's what makes the world keep turning. Who does it now? No-one gets a following like that anymore, don't get me wrong! I'm not even a BCR fan, just a sad ol' git that has seen nothing much happen since the days of when bands really rocked and the audience rocked even more.
Count me in as well. I found the court hearings and read them through for myself. Derek is innocent and justice was served. I would have walked with him all the way . Let's give the man all the love we can while we still have our favorite drummer with us .
i remember seeing a crowd of screaming roller fans outside the radio 1 studios in broadcasting house where the rollers were being interviewed and feeling very afraid(i don't why though because their fans were gentle and innocent, looking back)
HAHAHA!!! I found this video by accident and it reminded me a part of the movie "The Filth & the Fury" when John Lydon said: 'Can you imagine Johnny Rotten (from the Sex Pistols) singing "Shang-A-Lang"?' That part of the movie is so fun, LOL!!!
remember watching a documentary with les saying, that all the instruments on the records were played by professional musicians, none were played by the rest, only les singing ,
These lads were great for all the teenagers, especially girls. That seemed to be an innocent time with the young people. You could also hear all the words.
I tried to hide under my bed when I first heard Bay City Rollers, only to find that our dog had got there first. He was under there for days, we couldn't get him out. He actually had his paws over his ears.

How many days did I bunk off school to follow this group all over the place?...lol Do you think Eric will marry me now! They were great days, great mates, met some great people and had such a laugh with them xxx
@teresa931 Yeah they were great, I also loved them when I was 14! The story about them was that they were only drinking milk....that was what they made us believe in then! Their outfits were amazing!!
hi, i just had to get in on this one-i had the same question for 33 years, but according to one of my online friends, derek doesn't really sing much because he has really bad asthma.
I am in my 60s and still listening to good songs
Raised with this music I'm 13 and I wish I lived through the 70's
Wish I was back there at that age ass well
I grew up listening to these guys they were sensational, even today when you hear their songs you just want to get up and dance
I am going thru a hard time in my life right now, and these roller videos help make me smile!
i remember these i am in my 50's now and still love their music. btw i am english and hitchhiked to scotland in 1975 to find work
当時はレスリーしか興味なかったけど今見ると他のメンバーもみんなかわいかったんだなぁ😊
特にエリックの笑顔最高💓

You said it. I have stood up for Derek since the beginning of all this, and will continue to do so.

RIP Alan. A part of my teenage years left us today.
My mate Ron was a session drummer back in the 70's. . .he played the drums for this single when it was recorded.
All of me loves all of you for ever. Thanks for the best time of my live. I love all of you for ever. Kisses from Kerstin and to my best. My Idol Stuart Woody Wood ❤️

+Allison Fitzpatrick Spot on. They were fleeced by their original manager Tam Paton so I hope they really line their pockets with their comeback tour.

thank you, ArtAliveOnline. This has really gone on too long. I think the man should be left alone, and will continue to defend him if I have to.
Count me in as well. I found the court hearings and read them through for myself. Derek is innocent and justice was served. I would have walked with him all the way . Let's give the man all the love we can while we still have our favorite drummer with us .
This footage was taken from their ITV show 'Shang-a-lang'. It was produced by Granada Television at their studios in Manchester in 1975.
I couldn't agree more with you!. Wear those buttons with pride young lady! Good luck..........

Great - reminds me of the kids I used to hang out with on the Bata Estate in Zimbabwe.

Just reminds me of parties at Tynecastle! JAMBOS Scottish cup winners 2012
The stuff was not his, he is a fine man and deserves to be allowed to live in peace. Everyone needs to let all that stuff go.
@teresa931 That's great--I think I was 14 when they were playing this. And wait long enough, the clothes styles come back every time.
remember watching a documentary with les saying, that all the instruments on the records were played by professional musicians, none were played by the rest, only les singing ,

Their outfits were amazing!!
Somewhere I have about 200 pin-on buttons with various slogans on them. This is happy music from a time when life was WAY simpler. Sigh.
@sophizzy All charges against Derek were dropped because he was framed.
Thank you happidaze2, I don't know how many times I have already said that. However, if the "digs" continue, so will my defense.
wow grt tunes
