Yes I can, It's translucent paint usually lead based, suspended in medium at a ratio or 1 part medium to 3 parts paint, and I'm using Liquin Original and Liquin Fine Detail. I apply this with either a dry brush technique for lighter colours or a slightly more fluid variation for darker areas like deep shadows - always applied over a dry painting. You’re a beast mate. Not only a master with the brush but the work ethic to put together all the online content. I’m sure most don’t even realise the hours that go into creating all the filming with multi angles, live streams, time lapses, voice overs, still shots etc.
Andrew, I think you might be the best seascape painter on UA-cam! I’m intrigued by how you paint on the toned ground. The finishing details are amazing!
Landscapes aren’t my favorites, but I think you’re the best landscape painter working today. Your paintings are so good they have me rethinking my entire painting genre. Some might say that your work is very inspiring, and I would agree!
I imagine Andrew when he is like 70. Having reached a level of a true master. I mean, he can already paint photo/hyper realistic forests, mountains, waves, animals, people..Incredible talent like I have never seen.
I can only hope I reach this level someday, I super hate drawing realistic faces in perspective or just in general, sometimes it looks half decent, but other times I get a stupid styalization even if that is not what i'm not going for, or it will look like someone else's face, this is with following the reilly head construction method, this always causes me to get super angry and throw the drawing board on the ground.
The colours, the foam, the froth, the glisten, the transparency, the movement, the everything is heart-stopping! Your talent is unbelievable! Thank you for giving us glimpses into your amazing world of painting.
More intently I started at your painting the more I could almost feel the shifting sand beneath my feet. You have a remarkable talent of bringing whatever you are painting to life. Keep up the good work. Can't wait to try my hand .
I’ve followed your channel for some time - and while I’m not an oil painter, I feel like a lot of your tips can be applied through a variety of mediums. I’m primarily a pyrography artist - and your tips about thumbnail sketches have really helped me develop my skills. Thanks for all you do!
Andrew, this like all of your paintings is absolutely stunning. The colors, glazing, crisp white from the water. It’s almost as though your there and can feel and smell the sea. Thank you for sharing. All of your tutorials are exceptional and have been very beneficial to me. Talented artists indeed.
i have been watching you for a long time and i just cant believe you dont have double or triple the subs. There is a lot a person can learn from you in just one painting. But you have so many paintings that are just on another level.
i remember being next to and in the ocean as a kid there's nothing like it in the entire world and i remembered this because of this beautiful painting so thanks
Most talented artist on UA-cam! Doesn't matter if someone watches this 1000 times, they still can't paint like Andrew. Thank you for sharing your talent, knowledge, and skill!!
Andrew, you've done it again. My mind can barely comprehend the skill you possess and no words come to my mind that can adequately describe your work. Nothing needs to be said which would just complicate matters anyway. Just look at this work everyone and marvel, marvel, marvel. A modern master who is at the height of his powers. By the way enjoyed your other video too where you shared your early work + school work; the importance of documentation.
Every single video is a true piece of great art, hard work, amazing results and so much education and inspiration. Thanks Andrew, you are the best. Seascapes are so relaxing to paint at your own pace, it transports you to a different dimension of peace and calmness. Best wishes and much more for 2023 and blessings for each day.
I just got a couple of tubes of Blue Ridge oil paint and they are like BUTTER. Smooth, not too far off from Michael Harding in fluidity and thickness. I got yellow ochre and titanium white just to try it since they didn't have any sample packs, and I honestly think they may become my new favorite brand of oil paint. Love your videos, I learn a lot just from watching and you're style is GORGEOUS.
Thanks for the edification. I'm happy you are working on the "big rock in the mid-ground" because it looks like it should be sitting on the cliff above the beaches of Normandy. lol No, seriously I'm glad your reducing the black void and making it less squared off. You are the man!
Jeez!! beyond outstanding!! so in love with this. I will give this a try but I doubt I can do it. You are one of two favorite painters online and I am in awe of you both. Thank you.
Having purchased all of your videos over the years I would love to see an in-depth video of your digital painting process and also your pencil process in developing a seascape idea.
I don't have enough praise, for your beautiful artwork! Amazing. I love watching you paint. Thank you for the close-ups. You're so generous with your knowledge. Love your demeanor! I know you have to be an extraordinary person as well as your extraordinary. God bless your success, it couldn't happen to a better person
Andrew, you are one talented artist. Every strokes is calculated and beautifully executed. You are in my favorite list of artist. Among likes of Robert Bateman, and Michael Angelo. Excellent work mate. A Canadian fan and fellow artist that doesn't even compare to you. 🙏
Hi Andrew, thank you for the videos you share!! Your explainations are incredibly wanderful, the way you explain technics of what you are doing is just right, not a word less not a word more! It's a plasure to follow you. Chapeau!! Hello from Italy!!
About the lead in the oil, well I build and paint signs for 20 years with one shot paint, it is enamel and has lead it is for outside and signs use, and never have problem with lead contamination in me, and never use gloves
I got Andy's Milford and portrait tutorials on his website. Just finished watching them and they are absolutely superb. There has been ALOT of work put into his video material.
Wow Wow Super beau.
That wave and beach look incredibly real! So much so that one's immediate reaction upon entering a room where this was displayed would probably be to step out of the way of that crashing wave in order to avoid getting drenched! ====================================================================================
Beautiful painting! Could you share how to make the glaze? Thank you.
