The Obi-Wan treatment in this set is so sad.
💯 This is my biggest complaint about the set. They gave Obi Wan an ability that they admitted had struggled into Set 1. 😭
Totally agree! Also we got no new Obi unit either. He deserved better
I can't believe that there wasnt a general Kenobi unit, Anakin Master and Grievous counterpart
@@andrewtrench5694 I don't think Samuel Jackson would've approved Anakin for a Mastercard...
They should have done Windu vs Anakin in starter set 😂
I’ve been playing double green wat since he got revealed and I think I have my deck settled and ready. You’re definitely right he can push a lot of damage pretty fast, and going wide is lots of fun
Nala flipping at 4 changes some things. It's an extra unit at 4 that can synergize with coordinate and utilize SLT/Barrage.
But not sure ramping her out accomplishes much. She’s also not a great barrage target.
@@iamwooooo Agreed, not a great barrage target, I just mean that being villainy, Nala can utilize both of them in the "heroism aggro deck" shell that we've seen. Flipping at 4 has been great for Dark saber. Her wielding one would be pretty scary as well. If it's just her, yeah, probably not great. Follow it up with an ECL Wrecker. I think it's got some legs.
I went top 8 with Luke Red in PQ, and definitely think Anakin leader will be a better version of it. Being able to have turn 1 1/4 drops that can survive killing enemy 3/* units, then your turn 2 will be able to kill sabine on her flip, it's going to be really great to countering Sabine and slowing down Boba. Very excited for him, I think he's the best leader of the set 3.
Nice finish!
Agreed. I’ve been playing a blue anakin deck with restore abilities on force table. And yeah the AI isn’t great. But this deck torches Sabine cause all the damage Sabine pushes early boosts Anakin on his flip and can one shot Sabine. And boba seems to struggle a bit just because Anakin can overwhelm boba and the continue to damage base each turn.
Agreed. He’s super underrated and doesn’t just work with vigilance but also cunning too!
Thank you for another awesome video and analysis. I agree that the 7-costs are very high but I think this is the first time they did 7-cost leaders justice. Passive sides are strong and I think they will have viability
For Nala Se I think the appeal is being able to use OB and Maul with Wrecker in the deck too. Nala also enables Coordinate early too.
Oh for sure, I get the appeal, just not convinced it will be great!
Yup Mono green Rex will be my baby this set 😁
Biggest concern with exploit being a relevant mechanic in constructed is that bounce mechanics are a main staple of Boba Yellow and your awesome tempo plays turn into a timewalk
Dooku coming out at 7 does feel so late, but his ability seems strong. Will be fun to try him out.
Probably he is more powerful but still he reminds so much of Jabba. 😢
Yeah I have hope!
Interested to see what your rating to Jango would be if something was done to Boba in the near future ( ban, errata, etc).
Could definitely shift my opinion on him.
I am wondering how it would affect your opinion of 6 flips.
There will be a time when Maul is really good. He essentially ignores sentinel and when we start to see all sentinel decks he will essentially keep them honest. Maul feels the same as GI in that you really want to play a Lightsaber on them before they attack. For Maul that is essentially 10 power Overwhelm which is a big swing (no pun intended). I'm not sure he is quite there yet, but I think he has a lot of promise and he is very much in the aggro/midrange decktype.
The Quinlan force/discard package has been really good for me in early testing, pretty high on him. NTATOT shenanigans are hit and miss but when they hit its hard to lose too
Looks interesting for sure!
I have been testing rex and you hit it on the head. Flipping into a unit is great for coordinate but i have not once used his ability on leader side except for in thr long grindy games. Its not an early game thing at all. Mono green for sure
Whenever this guy posts a video I feel like there’s more negative stuff to say than positive 💀
I aim to be honest and give my impressions.
Thanks for the feedback.
It seems pretty accurate for competitive play to me.
Jango to me seems like a very interesting tempo leader, especially with that new pistol doin 1 dmg somewhere, even some of the ships when played do dmg. Keeping opponents units exhausted, meanwhile developing your board, goin base. Seems fun.
And ye I agree about the Boba thing, but it's a different playstyle and a possibility for some of us who "don't wanna play Boba just out of principle".
Agreed! I refuse to play Boba and Jango seems like a solid leader
Boba has the armor, stats and ability advantage. Unfortunately if that wasnt the case he'd be great
@@rezzytheskyguy I definitely agree when it comes to the meta only discussion but for a great casual deck I think Jango will be great. He could also surprise us
I agree, I think it is a way different deck than Boba and free tempo is pretty strong. He is like a better Mando, who doesn't need to force upgrades to get the free tempo, comes out a turn earlier and still gets Firespray. In a head to head with Boba, Boba just gets constantly exhausted meaning he doesn't get his crazy turn.
Yeah they kind of did Django dirty with that three attack. I think if he had been a 4'7 just like boba be a little bit better. The problem is bobo's resources is just so damn good and boba can use bubba's armor where Django can't use the armor. I think where we will see a lot of jingos is going to be in twin Suns. I think pairing him with a boba and do a red or green base will be huge. I really think Django gets the most out of red and green. So if you compare him with a red villain say like Darth Vader and a green base you get the most out of units that can deal damage
nice list woo! appreciate your honesty on palp, he's going to take a great pilot, as will yoda. i'm determined to make padme work. and sad that obiwan is so meh. i think jango's exhausting could actually be more valuable than we think. excited to try and make anakin, nala, grievous, and maul work. mace and nute are outclassed by other similar leaders imop. i like rex over ahsoka. quinlan force throw deck will be fun.
Much appreciated!
Dooku enables GOR on FOUR which is basically my new goal
I’ve had massive success with Assaj ventress red space aggro. Her ability is very good for aggro and her early flip makes it really easy to get ahead early game. Downside over boba though is no fire sprays, but you can win faster with her. Boba nerf pls
Just started and haven't watched yet but so far I think Nala Se is top tier.
why?
I think running things like wrecker Cody, etc. alongside the blue villain removal package could be pretty great. Plus you can run ECL and overwhelming barrage with them all too
Plus she can be hard to remove so the healing could potentially get out of hand. If they want to take a few actions to take her out, that’s more time for you to use your powerful clones
@@tzarthomas7787I've been testing her on force table and she's just really versatile with the ability to use the clones and villain green / blue. The AI isn't good but just how much of a blowout the games have been shes statistically one of the better against the ai.
@@callummate8254I've been stacking entrenched on her and using her to clear the board too
So with Jango, if you keep the initiative, and attack with a battle droid or some other cheap unit each turn, couldn’t you keep the opponents biggest units down?
There are a lot of ping cards, so you won't even need battle droids. For example against Boba, as long as he won't equip his armor you can quite reliably exhaust Boba before he can attack to claim 2 resources.
All true!
Been using jango and im ngl he’s very very very op in certain situations but all around he’s just reliable. Nothing crazy but he can just def counter heavy hitters with the right cards. Was able to get anakin down with him and cad
No tier yes is a little concerning ngl
Troll at the end lol
I like your TL but the leaders i want to try in priority are all in Unlikely Tier 😅 Maul, Asaj and Anakin
I’ve been messing with Anakin as a later Han 2 and I’m liking it. I don’t think he’ll break the meta but I do like him. Using lots of restore to negate the damage to base.
He seems fun to build around!
Seems like Han is just always better, man.
No way Jango is going to be bottom tier. He's not Boba, but neither is Grievous or anyone else.
They did Padme dirty 😢
Each set feel awesome for be played in cosntructed alone. Once you mix all sets, 2 and 3 looks very weak compare with set1 powerlevel, sinergies are not great also, we still have not reason to think Boba won´t be tier S++ with cards like cunning or barriage out of control.
Lengendaries in new set don´t diserve open packs it it is not for limited play. Sorry being pesimist, but I was hoping much more from this new set, wish I´m wrong.
Padme seems as though if it were coordinate OR one resource she would still not be competitive. Seeing as there isn’t much republic payoff, I think she would still be low if it was just ‘action…..’ as it’s only looking at a few cards.
I think Yoda is too slow to get much use imo. Like he has a near auto loss into Sabine and his leader ability does help him keep up
It’s possible!
My personal opinion on the no tier: Jango to me seems interesting, not hard to trigger and gets access to greats cards (duh). And Obi-Wan, like other of his colors, is just underwhelming indeed... very simple and possibly too weak ability.
Looking forward to building Yoda Yellow (YOLO!)
I’m looking at that too!
Isn't Maul more of a midrange leader as he will be trying to delete units?
In a sense yes, but also the whole benefit of his ability and high power deploy is to close the game out fast. Sort of an aggressive midrange?
Looking forward to not buying any set 3 boxes. I already got the best deck with Boba Green. Nothing new is scary
Nala is overhyped. I agree there
Nala Se allows villainy to have Tech though…
Which doesn’t feel like that big a deal to me to be honest.
I have the same tier no. Padme is fine but rex is way better. Yoda, rex, ventress and Quinlan ive ided at the higher end. Still watching..
Do or do not (play Yoda)
There is no TIER PROBABLY
Hah
I am surprise you did not mentioned the Grievous Wheel, its kinda a factor. Not saying he should be bump a tier, but that card for 2 cost on Grievous unit or Leader is not nothing. Great video as always,
It’s definitely an appealing upgrade.
Dooku seems not at good as Nute.
Maybe!
@@iamwooooo Yeah needs testing - but the free unit can snowball! Might want to revisit that one haha
Ani and Maul are def better than Ahsoka is
You seem more certain than I am.
Theres zero percent chance of this. Ahsoka is a fundamental 5/6 on turn 4 with a relevant front side ability. That alone pushes her above both the other leaders.
@@rezzytheskyguy i don't see coordinate being relevant lol
@@therealstefanb people have been saying this since the ability was revealed, yet extensive testing by competitive players has already proven this false. Coordinate is a serious threat. The whole coordinate sucks thing was nonsense.
@@rezzytheskyguy are those competitive players with us in this room now? Can't wait to see coordinate decks win PQs ;p
