Description
‘‘Lochlea”, composed and arranged by Ian Macpherson, was inspired by the Scottish poet Robert Burns and the farm in which he lived from 1777.
This stylish composition places the Pipes into the traditional and more contemporary arena in a refreshing arrangement of a new but somehow familiar melody. Dramatically scored, Ian explores the rich palate of sounds available from the modern Concert Band and effortlessly combines the Pipes and Band to create a work suitable for audiences of all ages. A must for indoor and outdoor performances.
This is another impressive score by Ian adding to his growing catalogue of works created to meet the needs of modern programming.

Really love Ian's new work for Scottish Pipes and Band, the modulation at 2:01 works really nicely up a tone. Kudos to you Ian, really hope your original compositions with SafeMusic start selling as you have really gone the extra mile in producing a plethora of new and original works in this often neglected genre. Bands all over the world should take note and engage in Ian's growing library of Bagpipe & Band music. Great melodies, great orchestrations and great new works on offer!
