The only thing that I see which might require the upgrade here is the graphics, maybe the chameleon car paint. Everything here should have been added to the game across all platforms. This is even more of a cash grab than I was expecting.

My pc got old and i switched to a series x, i find the graphics to be good only on fidelity, i didnt like the 30fps at first but then it goes up a little after you load the map so yea

If you want to look at somebodys car up close, you are instantly killed out of sheer paranoia. There is no community. There is no teamwork. There is just explosions everywhere. Heists gone awry because of clueless randoms. Griefing. Hacking. Endless MK2 missiles. I can put up with all of this, but it annoys me terribly that the game's creator is so terribly ignorant of the actual in-game reality.
Yeah.. I pray for a realism mode..that would draw me back it.. No flying bikes/ray guns space ships.. That sort of crap.. Just brutal realism of weapons you might find in street gangs/ the ability to have gang members follow you and more of an emphasis on street fighting as well as better police interaction.
Too true, you cant even grind in public lobby cause some asshole will always go after your cargo. The only way to grind peacefully is to find a solo lobby, but that shit is boring cause i wanna play with people, it is called GTA Online for a reason

In my opinion in a perfect world expanded and enhanced would include: expansions to the city, improved water effects, dynamic weather events, denser foliage and vegetation, expansions to car customization. Such car customization expansions could include tire compounds, tire width, tire diameter, rim size, choice between steel, cast or composite rim materials and them being linked to performance, upgrades to steering. Hell if you could even get some of what we got in the Tuners update would be okay. But then again a $10 dollar graphics upgrade I guess it’s fine for what it is, but I’d expect aspects of the game to be yk, “expanded” and “enhanced”.

the "chameleon"(literally just higher definition redesigned paints of the rainbow skins from borderlands 2) paint could be supported on last gen and I went a good 3,376 mph in the rhino tank on last gen using a launch glitch with no frame drop nor texture glitches, so yes, most of the stuff could've been added to last gen through an update whilst updating frames and graphical stuff within the update for new gen consoles without making a whole new reboot of the game.

Thanks for a very well put together summary. For me, it’s utterly pathetic that Rockstar created a 2 year hype for such an underwhelming result. I stopped playing GTA about 18 months ago, when I discovered just how outdated it is, and that there are better games out there. I was hoping that expanded and enhanced would draw me back in, but no, it won’t be happening.

@@j.bellamy2800 well that’s a mater of preference. We all have our likes and dislikes. When I quit GTA I moved to Red Dead 2. A brilliant story line and a far more pleasant online experience. The Forza franchise is also pretty good. I’ve even dabbled in some simulation stuff. The latest Microsoft flight sim is currently my most played. There again I’m a massive aviation geek, so it’s not going to be for everyone. What I’m trying to say is that people should dip their toes in other games. It’s very easy to get stuck in the GTA rut. The game is 9 years old and it has done really well to hold it’s appeal until now, but this whole thing of rehashing and recycling it is pathetic. Rockstar need to sort themselves out.
You missed out the Haptic and Adaptive trigger update which is easily the best bit about the new update. Feeling the slightest bit of rain, direction of gunfire and also what surface you are driving on is taking the immersion to a whole new level. Also the controller on the PS5 also emits a low level sound of the internal of a car whilst you are driving if you listen carefully which was a sweet little touch.
One little thing I’ve noticed whenever you’re driving in cockpit view, you can actually hear the suspension squeak anytime you hit a bump or driving on a rough road.
I love it when I walk around in my cyclops suit. All I hear is squish squish squish squish. But holy shit balls. Pees all over the ps4 version I played on for years and years.
The problem with the hao vehicles is that they’re wayyyy too fast, I have doubts that last gen wouldn’t struggle to load in textures fast enough. These cars would be pushing the limits at best

I bought the upgraded version for ps5 out of curiosity, and while I'm not disappoint as it was on $10, when I played the PS4 version on the ps5 it seemed I was getting a smooth 60fps anyway, the improved graphics are nice though. But what I really really like is the fact you can change the FOV! Because I play my ps5 on a monitor, so that's a great quality of life improvement for me. I don't know why the "field of view" option is not on more PS5 titles, a lot of people used Monitors. Tip too for people, if you want the graphics a little nicer and consistent, turn OFF "in-game depth perception" It just focusing on what is near you and blurs things further away
@Vjnebel they are bit nicer with the ps5 version, but not really worth upgrading for, plus if you bring your character over from the PS4 version you can't play that character on PS4 anymore, that's why I just made a new character for the ps5 version
@Vjnebel the PS4 version look nicer on the ps5 than it does on the PS4 (make sure to turn off "in-game depth perception" whichever ps or version you are playing) . And like I said I think the only reason to upgrade is if you are playing the ps5 on a monitor, because you can change "the field of view"

They know most people don’t have next gen consoles and they didn’t tell anybody that was what they were doing before they preordered so now who knows how many people are forced to play the almost exactly the same version of gta , but alone on next gen consoles. I preordered it but there’s no way I’m even touching it until my friends get next gen consoles in 1-2 years , and I wouldn’t be surprised if gta 6 has been announced by then so there’d be no point in even playing the next gen version. I think the reason for not adding the new vehicles to old gen is that these new cars can be upgraded to be faster than older cars (The additional acceleration bar), therefore older generation consoles will have a harder time rendering the environments around them when driving at max speed
What about previous Los Santos Tuners broken glitch with the low grip and suspension, that was stupid fast and yet we were able to still use it, and let's not forget the boosting/vehicles that also go fast

GTA 5 was honestly so ahead of it's time, that though I will not be buying this anytime soon, I can see that all other competition still has a long way to go before they can match Rockstar's level of development.

The changes seem decent for people who still play the game quite regularly. As someone who only really plays for a few weeks after content releases it doesn't seem particularly worth it to me.

Youre wrong about the old consoles not being able to handle it. We literally couldve handled this “update” with ease. Reskinned vehicles, custom colors, new ui so tf what? There was no change thats SO drastic we would need a new console, yet theyre forcing you to think people are kinda stupid for just seeing the obvious. There was no point in this update specifically having to be waited for and there was no point for next gen consoles to be needed to play.
Still, the fastest way to get into an invite only session, if you want to- on the game start, is through the story. You dodge the public lobby loading time, while loading in story is a matter of few seconds

I wonder what the resolution difference is between "performance" and "performance RT". if the "performance" mode has a slightly higher resolution than the "performance RT" mode then that might actually be the best way to go considering the only thing benefiting from the ray tracing in the "performance RT" mode are the shadows, not reflections which is a bummer, therefor its not really worth the trade off since you barely notice RT shadows unless you're looking down at your characters own shadow. so if the "performance" mode has a slight advantage over "performance RT" mode in any way other than the Ray tracing, ill definitely start to strictly use the normal "Performance" mode from here on
Just use the Performance mode, you wouldn't really notice any Ray Tracing anyways, in RT mode FPS drops to 35-ish when there are explosions so imo Performance is the only option out of the three
As a PC player that was pretty dissapointed as I learned that we were not getting any of the new content at launch, yeah, seeing this makes me feel like I'm not missing out on anything at the end (and no, I'm not talking about graphics, my pc doesn't meet today's standards by any means so I don't really care at this point), the only thing that catches my eye, is the new muscle car, which we will probably be getting on the following months or next DLC this year along with the other new content. I'm still happy about console players that are finally getting the performance upgrades though, can't deny that was a must. Though of course it comes with a big-ass "get this barely obtainable new generation console" Paywall lol, that's capitalism for you

One thing I’ve noticed is people fail to realize not all “4K” tv’s are created equal. You have a cheap tv well the game will look not as nice as like an OLED. I think it looks great on my LG OLED just don’t notice a whole lot between Fidelity or performance. But playing GTA V on my PS5 before expanded and enhanced is a very clear difference.

It's because of there partnerships with Sony and Microsoft specifically Xbox and PlayStation, they are trying to push sales of next gen consoles with these new features (over pc as well because consoles sell more) same thing with why gta 6 will be next gen only on launch, it's because consoles sell better, plus they want to push sales to have a good partnership with Xbox and Ps. If anything I'm fine with this because my 2013 Xbox can barely run this anyway and my pc… I just don't bother too much anymore modders are outta hand
Crossplay between consoles would be great but you don't want crossplay with PC, GTA isn't built on dedicated servers and R* cba with an anticheat so hackers are in every lobby

I swapped my character to the PS5 edition, not knowing I would no longer be able to play the PS4 version. And that’s fine for one of my friend groups, where every single person’s gotten lucky enough to get PS5, but my other friend group is split only 3 of us have PS5 and the other 4 don’t
Honestly in gtavi they need to do something about the rocket spam. I would get rid of the homing rockets for all vehicles and just add guided bombs as a replacement. The only homing rockets in the game being hand held would really balance out combat into something more skill based rather than haha booger finger click fast. It would also be cool to have super cars a little more armored or at least have flares that you can deploy easily.

How often can you use this career builder mode? Because technically when you think about it, if there are no restrictions, you should be able to create a second character, cash in the 1 million you get for free, put it in the mutually shared maze bank account, delete the character after that and use the career builder again to receive another million for your main character. Don't have a next gen consoles to try it unfortunately 🤷🏻♂️. Edit: Nop it doesn’t work, dont try it.

i’m just hoping the reasoning behind the ‘expanded’ being removed is rockstar shifting their priority to GTA6 or whatever game is next. it’s honestly time rockstar move on, the longer they linger on a decade old game, the more damage they will do to their brand and business in the long run. I wish RDR2 got more love, considering it should be their flagship game, however i get that GTA is where the money is at.

The Xbox One/PS4 version was the Enhanced Version, so the Xbox Series whatever and PS5 version are also the Enhanced Version, not Expanded and Enhanced?
Actually, you can do normal races with the HSW mods i did a land race with 30 people this morning and it was a ton of fun just speeding trough the freeway around the whole map it took only 7:30 to go all around the map . Its so fun.
Would they add better detail like fat cops that ran slow in gta iv? Will they bring back the turismo motor and motorbike garage so we can walk in and buy cars??? Wilo we be able to walk into night clubs, museum, apartments and interiors that was in gta iv??? No, because rockstar won't add that detail in the enhance edition since they're lazy.
Not only is it $10/$20 for the game, it’s also an extra $500 on top of that for a brand new console. Not worth the purchase in my opinion. Yet again another massive let down by Rockstar 👏

I don’t have a 4K TV. I run the game on Perfomance RT and the brightness is on 50%. Ngl the game looks better than I thought. Especially the 60 FPS is really nice. It feels and looks definitely different. Also I am glad to finally hear the radio music through all my speakers now (5.1 setup) instead of just through my soundbar. Personally I think it should just be a free update. But it’s definitely worth the few bucks. I wouldn’t be happy to pay the full price after June 14th so I’d recommend to buy it now. (I’m on Xbox living in Europe)
Maybe I'm wrong but I don't understand why any of this has to be next gen exclusive, or why we need to pay extra money to upgrade it to next gen, pretty much every other game has X|S upgrades for free so why does Rockstar not give us the upgrade for free?
As someone who has been skeptic on expanded and enhanced since the trailer, I do have to say, 60fps makes this game feel, look, and run way better. I’d recommend it if you want your gta experience to be smoother
2:34 GTA V as it exists since the 360/PS3 days, gave the option to go directly into Story mode, or Online freeroam, or sit on the menu screen as it does by default. It never did put you directly into an online lobby unless you TOLD the game to do so in settings. I found going directly into story mode worked out best, since after being in story mode loading into online mode went a bit quicker.
still pissed at the fact that a multi billion dollar company doesn’t even think about actual good features they could’ve included in this new GTA V e.g crossplay & dedicated servers (please I beg) instead of just upgraded graphics and a few reskinned vehicles

The only excuse I would accept is actually that major part of the team is already working on GTA 6, which is most likely the case.
@@chomp5558 First of all, lack of knowledge itself isn't something to make fun of. Rather the fact that people moan and complain and act if they know better. The second paragraph tells surprisingly much about you too. We don't know exactly how long they worked on it (only a ballpark) or how many people were allocated to it. I see a lot of people make the same "multimillion dollar company" argument as yours and it's just wrong. You can chug as many programmers to a project as you want but it won't necessarily make it go faster. Sure, more people can equal to more content but I think we all know where their main focus lies on right now (and has been since they finished rdr2). While you say the graphical updates they did were nothing revolutionary, while true isn't always as simple as many people assume it to be. Also e&e was always going to be a QoL port bringing consoles to pc standards so they can keep updating gta online until gta 6. Which brings us to the obvious. They're working on the next gta title so most of the studio is completely focused on that, these side attractions aren't going to get much manpower allocated to them purely because it doesn't make any sense.
It looks good, but unless all your friends get a new console, you'll have to find some new ones. Also, if you transfer your character, there's no going back because the old character is deleted
the speed is based on how fast your harddrive can handle the reloading of areas, i bet you all know that when you drive to fast the map just dont load, but with an ssd however the map can load faster that mean the cars can also be faster now. In gta the max speed a current vehicle (modded of course) can drive is 520kmh, there is no way to be faster than this, maybe by falling.
TBH, I've had so many issues with the new menu screen. Half the time it doesn't load and only shows one screen and hitting A to join online does nothing so I have to restart my console a couple times to get it to finally load.
Rockstar have gone from delivering the most worthwhile upgrades to a previously released game in GTA 5 for X1/PS4 to making the most pathetic efforts with the 'upgrade' to XsX/PS5.. They needed to put more work into this.. There should be more content.. There should be new single player elements.. The fact that nothing on the scale of FPS mode or even improved render and texture distances.. Theyve done nothing to make the title pop for next gen.. RT is the only thing and it feels half-assed and just sort of put into.. It really didn't do anything to the lighting either.. I see no massive improvement there.. And you'd think that the jump from artificial light to a more real one would have an impact.. No.. They haven't gone over any of the texture work that looked a little dated by current standards.. Nothing.. Its a disappointing release.. Then there is the lack of sense in releasing it as 2 products in one again when it should be 2 different downloads at this point.. And with that 2 different achievement/trophy lists.. One for GTA 5 and the other for GTA Online.. Meaning they could go in and take another look at those achievements on the online side of things and make adjustments.. GTA 5 itself needs little work on that front other than to balance out the score.. Possibly add a few more to fill the gap of the online ones going over to a different list.. But nope.. They didn't even bother doing that.. Instead they just copy pasted.. Except this game is GTA Online with GTA 5 added on... Which frankly is a depressing state of affairs.
The problem is the nature of game development. The purpose of such remasters is to give the players something in between major releases that doesn't take too many resources away from major projects. That's why R* cancelled Bully 2. So all resources could be diverted to RDR2. So if R* wanted to add all of these features to GTAVE&E, it would pull resources away from GTA6. Another issue is that R* is still supporting both the Last Gen, PC and E&E versions of GTA Online. Adding too many exclusive features to E&E risks making future content harder since you would then need to make seperate content for these versions. For example, let's say E&E had way more options for car customization that weren't in the last Gen or PC versions. Now whenever R* has to release a new car, they need to effectively design 2 versions of it, one for last gen and one for E&E.
Car speed and acceleration is definitely limited by my consoles old tech, when I drive those Tuners with stanced wheels or wheelie for a while to build speed i lose textures and assets have trouble loading at 160-180 mph. When the game came out 8 years ago the Adder was only like 120 mph.
this makes zero sense, old gen can render it just fine considering the speed gliched cars and high speed aircrafts are a thing ,and the game renders just fine, this is just more marketing bullshit.
Really hope the QoL changes come to PC. The lobby selection should have been something global across all platforms. Since I play on PC with my friends i will be playing solo on PS5, gonna see how it all plays out
Thanks TGG good video. An interesting concept for the next video is to test if the new cars really go faster than the old ones as I remember they put a speed limiter on the other cars in free roam. Otherwise GTA E&E just looks like a port, and if the graphics are now equivalent to PC then no real loss on the PC side. Especially now they are pulling a Skyrim move and making people buy a 9 year old game again for maximum dolla.
Expanded and Enhanced was only $20 for Story and Online on Xbox. Should have been a free upgrade but not gonna complain cause it was the best $20 I put into GTA V.

1 more thing, on ps5 it is apparently no longer possible to launch a solo public lobby using the manual MTU setting. I tried about 5 times at 2AM and it just wouldn't connect. For me, that is a huge bummer. I'm used to going solo anytime I need to sell my nightclub or bunker stock, it really sucks we can't do that anymore.

There is (sort of) still a way to do it...if you connect console to your mobile hotspot whilst you are in a lobby ot will empty the lobby, leaving you on your own..can be a bit hit and miss but I'd say it works 7/10 times on xb1.
I pray that these new features will be added to pc and ps4 as well as xbox one x i are in the near future. I mean hao's workschop and new cars. It's obvius that the smoothness and graphics features of the game are only available on the new generation of consoles, but cars, workschops etc. should be added to the older generation in the future. in addition, I hope that new updates in summer and winter will also be added to the older generation of consoles and pc.
Pretty sure they nerfed the tracking of the MKII rockets. I got missed by TWO rockets at different times while driving a normal sports classic car today, and that NEVER happened on PS4. I even got away from the MKIIs in that same car…

So what happens if I have two Xboxes in my house an Xbox One and then I also have an Xbox series X with all my GTA accounts on both councils. If I transfer my accounts for my Xbox x to this new GTA will I still be able to play those accounts on my old Xbox One in my other room? I heard that once you transfer you no longer can use them on your old Xbox
you can no longer play your characters on your old console if you've transferred it to the series x. However you can still create new characters on your xbox one if you wish to play with your friends on your xbox one platform.
For me 60 FPS and faster loading times are worth the upgrade alone. Even small things like entering or leaving the casino take so much less time now. Combat and driving feels so much smoother, and with the lower input latency I've notice the huge difference in how quickly I can respond to enemies and cars. The graphics didn't knock my socks off, but was anyone expecting anything significant when Rockstar used PS3 footage in the trailer?

So me and a friend tested the new weaponised ignus with the new speeds against a jet to see what was faster and it's crazy to say but they are the same speed. I drove along the highway whilst my friend flew a jet following the same highway and I had no trouble at all keeping up with him. Infact no one could actually go ahead it was dead on the same speed
From someone who got to play free I think this is a decent port. Good quality of life changes and W content, I cant complain for the cars. Graphics and performance do make a change performance 100% and the graphics arent insane but visually better. better visibility under water, burnout effect looks great and of course the explosions, although I could see it being a free upgrade i do understand why those who had to pay would be disappointed, overall sold 7/10 upgrade I'm happy with It not over the top and unbelievable but happy with looks and performance basically what was intended

No one can deny this is a money-grabbing move and it lacks a lot of contents, but for me the upgrade from 30 fps to 60 fps made this a must-buy. I hadn't logged in for a couple months before the upgrade and when I first played the upgrade version on PS5 the 60 fps feels so fresh. I have been playing for hours 3 days in a row and actually found it "fun" purely from the fps upgrade. I'm not trying to defend Rockstar tho, it's still not a good upgrade because a lot of games have the graphic/next-gen upgrades for free, but I can only appreciate a chance to upgrade graphics (which sounds sad lol). On PS5 is free and on XB it's not expensive either imo, but I guess it just comes down to whether you think it's worth to spend that much or not.
I have a series S and the enhanced edition online feels and play great. GTA online on the 360 and the One we’re fun but when I would play in those console I always felt a small lag to the gameplay and it made the experience not a fun. Don’t get me wrong I still played and had fun. But this next gen version for GTA online is amazing. The online mode feels like story mode for me. Smooth fast accurate gameplay. Plus that little lag is gone.
For real, i was playing in fidelity and it felt so smooth and then i looked at the player count and it was 30, i couldnt believe it, on the xbox one when a lobby hit 30 players it got so damn laggy but now i can play at 60fps with the performance setting and i no longer have to worry about players
But the pc has been doing this since 2015 so it’s not new but i think the pc port is the best because there’s graphics mods that look pretty nice and there’s mods that you can use online vehicles in the single player and you can play fivem if you like rp I know there’s modders but since the new enterprise update you can avoid them so you can do your businesses with any hassle

i mostly play on pc and i can notice a diffrence with the new 1.58 update before my cpu just to hover about 72f while heavily moded now it goes to 98f and the npc animation and physics when you shoot them feels diffrent they feel more realistic movements

Sometimes I wonder if Rockstar actually know how things usually go down in an average lobby. There are no car meets. In my opinion in a perfect world expanded and enhanced would include: expansions to the city, improved water effects, dynamic weather events, denser foliage and vegetation, expansions to car customization. Such car customization expansions could include tire compounds, tire width, tire diameter, rim size, choice between steel, cast or composite rim materials and them being linked to performance, upgrades to steering. Hell if you could even get some of what we got in the Tuners update would be okay. But then again a $10 dollar graphics upgrade I guess it’s fine for what it is, but I’d expect aspects of the game to be yk, “expanded” and “enhanced”.

the "chameleon"(literally just higher definition redesigned paints of the rainbow skins from borderlands 2) paint could be supported on last gen and I went a good 3,376 mph in the rhino tank on last gen using a launch glitch with no frame drop nor texture glitches, so yes, most of the stuff could've been added to last gen through an update whilst updating frames and graphical stuff within the update for new gen consoles without making a whole new reboot of the game.

I stopped playing GTA about 18 months ago, when I discovered just how outdated it is, and that there are better games out there. @@j.bellamy2800 well that’s a mater of preference. We all have our likes and dislikes. When I quit GTA I moved to Red Dead 2. A brilliant story line and a far more pleasant online experience. The Forza franchise is also pretty good. I’ve even dabbled in some simulation stuff. The latest Microsoft flight sim is currently my most played. There again I’m a massive aviation geek, so it’s not going to be for everyone. What I’m trying to say is that people should dip their toes in other games. It’s very easy to get stuck in the GTA rut. The game is 9 years old and it has done really well to hold it’s appeal until now, but this whole thing of rehashing and recycling it is pathetic. Rockstar need to sort themselves out.
You missed out the Haptic and Adaptive trigger update which is easily the best bit about the new update. Feeling the slightest bit of rain, direction of gunfire and also what surface you are driving on is taking the immersion to a whole new level. Also the controller on the PS5 also emits a low level sound of the internal of a car whilst you are driving if you listen carefully which was a sweet little touch.
One little thing I’ve noticed whenever you’re driving in cockpit view, you can actually hear the suspension squeak anytime you hit a bump or driving on a rough road.

The problem with the hao vehicles is that they’re wayyyy too fast, I have doubts that last gen wouldn’t struggle to load in textures fast enough. These cars would be pushing the limits at best

I bought the upgraded version for ps5 out of curiosity, and while I'm not disappoint as it was on $10, when I played the PS4 version on the ps5 it seemed I was getting a smooth 60fps anyway, the improved graphics are nice though.
But what I really really like is the fact you can change the FOV! Because I play my ps5 on a monitor, so that's a great quality of life improvement for me.
I don't know why the "field of view" option is not on more PS5 titles, a lot of people used Monitors.
Tip too for people, if you want the graphics a little nicer and consistent, turn OFF "in-game depth perception"

@Vjnebel they are bit nicer with the ps5 version, but not really worth upgrading for, plus if you bring your character over from the PS4 version you can't play that character on PS4 anymore, that's why I just made a new character for the ps5 version
@Vjnebel the PS4 version look nicer on the ps5 than it does on the PS4 (make sure to turn off "in-game depth perception" whichever ps or version you are playing) . And like I said I think the only reason to upgrade is if you are playing the ps5 on a monitor, because you can change "the field of view"

They know most people don’t have next gen consoles and they didn’t tell anybody that was what they were doing before they preordered so now who knows how many people are forced to play the almost exactly the same version of gta , but alone on next gen consoles. I preordered it but there’s no way I’m even touching it until my friends get next gen consoles in 1-2 years , and I wouldn’t be surprised if gta 6 has been announced by then so there’d be no point in even playing the next gen version. I think the reason for not adding the new vehicles to old gen is that these new cars can be upgraded to be faster than older cars (The additional acceleration bar), therefore older generation consoles will have a harder time rendering the environments around them when driving at max speed

Still, the fastest way to get into an invite only session, if you want to- on the game start, is through the story. You dodge the public lobby loading time, while loading in story is a matter of few seconds

I wonder what the resolution difference is between "performance" and "performance RT". if the "performance" mode has a slightly higher resolution than the "performance RT" mode then that might actually be the best way to go considering the only thing benefiting from the ray tracing in the "performance RT" mode are the shadows, not reflections which is a bummer, therefor its not really worth the trade off since you barely notice RT shadows unless you're looking down at your characters own shadow. so if the "performance" mode has a slight advantage over "performance RT" mode in any way other than the Ray tracing, ill definitely start to strictly use the normal "Performance" mode from here on
both preformance and preformance RT are upscaled 4k. Only difference being frames and frames dropped, which RT can struggle with just a bit

Just use the Performance mode, you wouldn't really notice any Ray Tracing anyways, in RT mode FPS drops to 35-ish when there are explosions so imo Performance is the only option out of the three

As a PC player that was pretty dissapointed as I learned that we were not getting any of the new content at launch, yeah, seeing this makes me feel like I'm not missing out on anything at the end (and no, I'm not talking about graphics, my pc doesn't meet today's standards by any means so I don't really care at this point), the only thing that catches my eye, is the new muscle car, which we will probably be getting on the following months or next DLC this year along with the other new content.
I'm still happy about console players that are finally getting the performance upgrades though, can't deny that was a must. Though of course it comes with a big-ass "get this barely obtainable new generation console" Paywall lol, that's capitalism for you

One thing I’ve noticed is people fail to realize not all “4K” tv’s are created equal. You have a cheap tv well the game will look not as nice as like an OLED. I think it looks great on my LG OLED just don’t notice a whole lot between Fidelity or performance. But playing GTA V on my PS5 before expanded and enhanced is a very clear difference.

It's because of there partnerships with Sony and Microsoft specifically Xbox and PlayStation, they are trying to push sales of next gen consoles with these new features (over pc as well because consoles sell more) same thing with why gta 6 will be next gen only on launch, it's because consoles sell better, plus they want to push sales to have a good partnership with Xbox and Ps. If anything I'm fine with this because my 2013 Xbox can barely run this anyway and my pc… I just don't bother too much anymore modders are outta hand

I wish we were given the option to switch back and forth between the two versions. The car and new paint seem cool, but if I swap my character over to the ps5 server I’d have to be a solo player for a while….. a long while
I swapped my character to the PS5 edition, not knowing I would no longer be able to play the PS4 version. And that’s fine for one of my friend groups, where every single person’s gotten lucky enough to get PS5, but my other friend group is split only 3 of us have PS5 and the other 4 don’t

Honestly in gtavi they need to do something about the rocket spam. I would get rid of the homing rockets for all vehicles and just add guided bombs as a replacement. The only homing rockets in the game being hand held would really balance out combat into something more skill based rather than haha booger finger click fast. It would also be cool to have super cars a little more armored or at least have flares that you can deploy easily.

How often can you use this career builder mode?
Because technically when you think about it, if there are no restrictions, you should be able to create a second character, cash in the 1 million you get for free, put it in the mutually shared maze bank account, delete the character after that and use the career builder again to receive another million for your main character.
Don't have a next gen consoles to try it unfortunately 🤷🏻♂️.

i’m just hoping the reasoning behind the ‘expanded’ being removed is rockstar shifting their priority to GTA6 or whatever game is next. it’s honestly time rockstar move on, the longer they linger on a decade old game, the more damage they will do to their brand and business in the long run. I wish RDR2 got more love, considering it should be their flagship game, however i get that GTA is where the money is at.

The Xbox One/PS4 version was the Enhanced Version, so the Xbox Series whatever and PS5 version are also the Enhanced Version, not Expanded and Enhanced?

Actually, you can do normal races with the HSW mods i did a land race with 30 people this morning and it was a ton of fun just speeding trough the freeway around the whole map it took only 7:30 to go all around the map . Its so fun.

I don’t have a 4K TV. I run the game on Perfomance RT and the brightness is on 50%. Ngl the game looks better than I thought. Especially the 60 FPS is really nice. It feels and looks definitely different. Also I am glad to finally hear the radio music through all my speakers now (5.1 setup) instead of just through my soundbar. Personally I think it should just be a free update. But it’s definitely worth the few bucks. I wouldn’t be happy to pay the full price after June 14th so I’d recommend to buy it now. (I’m on Xbox living in Europe)
Maybe I'm wrong but I don't understand why any of this has to be next gen exclusive, or why we need to pay extra money to upgrade it to next gen, pretty much every other game has X|S upgrades for free so why does Rockstar not give us the upgrade for free?

As someone who has been skeptic on expanded and enhanced since the trailer, I do have to say, 60fps makes this game feel, look, and run way better. I’d recommend it if you want your gta experience to be smoother

2:34 GTA V as it exists since the 360/PS3 days, gave the option to go directly into Story mode, or Online freeroam, or sit on the menu screen as it does by default. It never did put you directly into an online lobby unless you TOLD the game to do so in settings. I found going directly into story mode worked out best, since after being in story mode loading into online mode went a bit quicker.
because the map and files are already loaded, single to multi would probably take the same or a bit longer amount of time

The second paragraph tells surprisingly much about you too. We don't know exactly how long they worked on it (only a ballpark) or how many people were allocated to it. I see a lot of people make the same "multimillion dollar company" argument as yours and it's just wrong. You can chug as many programmers to a project as you want but it won't necessarily make it go faster. Sure, more people can equal to more content but I think we all know where their main focus lies on right now (and has been since they finished rdr2).
While you say the graphical updates they did were nothing revolutionary, while true isn't always as simple as many people assume it to be. Also e&e was always going to be a QoL port bringing consoles to pc standards so they can keep updating gta online until gta 6. Which brings us to the obvious. They're working on the next gta title so most of the studio is completely focused on that, these side attractions aren't going to get much manpower allocated to them purely because it doesn't make any sense.

the speed is based on how fast your harddrive can handle the reloading of areas, i bet you all know that when you drive to fast the map just dont load, but with an ssd however the map can load faster that mean the cars can also be faster now. In gta the max speed a current vehicle (modded of course) can drive is 520kmh, there is no way to be faster than this, maybe by falling.

TBH, I've had so many issues with the new menu screen. Half the time it doesn't load and only shows one screen and hitting A to join online does nothing so I have to restart my console a couple times to get it to finally load.
Rockstar have gone from delivering the most worthwhile upgrades to a previously released game in GTA 5 for X1/PS4 to making the most pathetic efforts with the 'upgrade' to XsX/PS5.. They needed to put more work into this.. There should be more content.. There should be new single player elements.. The fact that nothing on the scale of FPS mode or even improved render and texture distances.. Theyve done nothing to make the title pop for next gen.. RT is the only thing and it feels half-assed and just sort of put into.. It really didn't do anything to the lighting either.. I see no massive improvement there.. And you'd think that the jump from artificial light to a more real one would have an impact.. No.. They haven't gone over any of the texture work that looked a little dated by current standards.. Nothing.. Its a disappointing release.. Then there is the lack of sense in releasing it as 2 products in one again when it should be 2 different downloads at this point.. And with that 2 different achievement/trophy lists.. One for GTA 5 and the other for GTA Online.. Meaning they could go in and take another look at those achievements on the online side of things and make adjustments.. GTA 5 itself needs little work on that front other than to balance out the score.. Possibly add a few more to fill the gap of the online ones going over to a different list.. But nope.. They didn't even bother doing that.. Instead they just copy pasted.. Except this game is GTA Online with GTA 5 added on... Which frankly is a depressing state of affairs.
The problem is the nature of game development.
The purpose of such remasters is to give the players something in between major releases that doesn't take too many resources away from major projects. That's why R* cancelled Bully 2. So all resources could be diverted to RDR2.
So if R* wanted to add all of these features to GTAVE&E, it would pull resources away from GTA6.
Another issue is that R* is still supporting both the Last Gen, PC and E&E versions of GTA Online. Adding too many exclusive features to E&E risks making future content harder since you would then need to make seperate content for these versions. For example, let's say E&E had way more options for car customization that weren't in the last Gen or PC versions. Now whenever R* has to release a new car, they need to effectively design 2 versions of it, one for last gen and one for E&E.
I’ve noticed a lot of rendering and lighting problems it really is pathetic.
Car speed and acceleration is definitely limited by my consoles old tech, when I drive those Tuners with stanced wheels or wheelie for a while to build speed i lose textures and assets have trouble loading at 160-180 mph. When the game came out 8 years ago the Adder was only like 120 mph.

An interesting concept for the next video is to test if the new cars really go faster than the old ones as I remember they put a speed limiter on the other cars in free roam.
Otherwise GTA E&E just looks like a port, and if the graphics are now equivalent to PC then no real loss on the PC side. Especially now they are pulling a Skyrim move and making people buy a 9 year old game again for maximum dolla.
I bought Skyrim on PS4 after PS3 and the PS5 port was a free upgrade
Expanded and Enhanced was only $20 for Story and Online on Xbox. Should have been a free upgrade but not gonna complain cause it was the best $20 I put into GTA V.

1 more thing, on ps5 it is apparently no longer possible to launch a solo public lobby using the manual MTU setting. I tried about 5 times at 2AM and it just wouldn't connect. For me, that is a huge bummer. I'm used to going solo anytime I need to sell my nightclub or bunker stock, it really sucks we can't do that anymore.

There is (sort of) still a way to do it...if you connect console to your mobile hotspot whilst you are in a lobby ot will empty the lobby, leaving you on your own..can be a bit hit and miss but I'd say it works 7/10 times on xb1.
It seems like it still is possible. I was having that problem too and then I closed the game and retried and it worked.

I pray that these new features will be added to pc and ps4 as well as xbox one x i are in the near future. I mean hao's workschop and new cars. It's obvius that the smoothness and graphics features of the game are only available on the new generation of consoles, but cars, workschops etc. should be added to the older generation in the future. in addition, I hope that new updates in summer and winter will also be added to the older generation of consoles and pc.
Pretty sure they nerfed the tracking of the MKII rockets. I got missed by TWO rockets at different times while driving a normal sports classic car today, and that NEVER happened on PS4. I even got away from the MKIIs in that same car…

So what happens if I have two Xboxes in my house an Xbox One and then I also have an Xbox series X with all my GTA accounts on both councils. If I transfer my accounts for my Xbox x to this new GTA will I still be able to play those accounts on my old Xbox One in my other room? I heard that once you transfer you no longer can use them on your old Xbox
you can no longer play your characters on your old console if you've transferred it to the series x. However you can still create new characters on your xbox one if you wish to play with your friends on your xbox one platform.
For me 60 FPS and faster loading times are worth the upgrade alone. Even small things like entering or leaving the casino take so much less time now. Combat and driving feels so much smoother, and with the lower input latency I've notice the huge difference in how quickly I can respond to enemies and cars. The graphics didn't knock my socks off, but was anyone expecting anything significant when Rockstar used PS3 footage in the trailer?

Best starting business is the nightclub. They buffed the daily income on fully promoted nightclub from 10k to 50k! Make more money than bunker without having to buy supplies or run sale missions!
So me and a friend tested the new weaponised ignus with the new speeds against a jet to see what was faster and it's crazy to say but they are the same speed.
I drove along the highway whilst my friend flew a jet following the same highway and I had no trouble at all keeping up with him.
Infact no one could actually go ahead it was dead on the same speed
dont forget planes go much faster if they are high up though

From someone who got to play free I think this is a decent port. Good quality of life changes and W content, I cant complain for the cars. Graphics and performance do make a change performance 100% and the graphics arent insane but visually better. better visibility under water, burnout effect looks great and of course the explosions, although I could see it being a free upgrade i do understand why those who had to pay would be disappointed, overall sold 7/10 upgrade I'm happy with It not over the top and unbelievable but happy with looks and performance basically what was intended

No one can deny this is a money-grabbing move and it lacks a lot of contents, but for me the upgrade from 30 fps to 60 fps made this a must-buy. I hadn't logged in for a couple months before the upgrade and when I first played the upgrade version on PS5 the 60 fps feels so fresh. I have been playing for hours 3 days in a row and actually found it "fun" purely from the fps upgrade. I'm not trying to defend Rockstar tho, it's still not a good upgrade because a lot of games have the graphic/next-gen upgrades for free, but I can only appreciate a chance to upgrade graphics (which sounds sad lol). On PS5 is free and on XB it's not expensive either imo, but I guess it just comes down to whether you think it's worth to spend that much or not.
I have a series S and the enhanced edition online feels and play great. GTA online on the 360 and the One we’re fun but when I would play in those console I always felt a small lag to the gameplay and it made the experience not a fun. Don’t get me wrong I still played and had fun. But this next gen version for GTA online is amazing. The online mode feels like story mode for me. Smooth fast accurate gameplay. Plus that little lag is gone.
For real, i was playing in fidelity and it felt so smooth and then i looked at the player count and it was 30, i couldnt believe it, on the xbox one when a lobby hit 30 players it got so damn laggy but now i can play at 60fps with the performance setting and i no longer have to worry about players
But the pc has been doing this since 2015 so it’s not new but i think the pc port is the best because there’s graphics mods that look pretty nice and there’s mods that you can use online vehicles in the single player and you can play fivem if you like rp I know there’s modders but since the new enterprise update you can avoid them so you can do your businesses with any hassle
They really need to add animals in gta online that would be lit
You can do normal races with the HSW upgraded vehicles there is a new setting like allowing custom vehicles where it allows HSW vehicles.
Thank you for all the info, I love the new graphics and Ray tracing. Rockstar should keep GTA Online expanding by creating new cities for us to explore. Maybe make a GTA Online USA? Where we have New York, Miami, Chicago, St Louis, KC, Phoenix, Vegas, and Los Angeles. That could be a long term goal. But I think Rockstar should give The People at least a new city to explore soon. I was expecting new cars in traffic. I realized DLC cars in Online traffic are extremely rare so i am expecting them to spawn more in Story Mode

DLC cars like the Panto, Massacro, Jester spawn in traffic on single player but extremely rare in Online traffic

i mostly play on pc and i can notice a diffrence with the new 1.58 update before my cpu just to hover about 72f while heavily moded now it goes to 98f and the npc animation and physics when you shoot them feels diffrent they feel more realistic movements
that they lock out features to "next gen" and lock out older xbox ps and PC users from getting said content is CRAZY
