No way is this bivvy "light weight", fella... I use one, and its a great bivvy, but it's weighty in comparison to a brolly or real lightweight shelter. Especially if you're carrying the g/sheet and infill panel......But , as you say, its ridiculously solid and stable. The blackout fabric feels bomb proof. Probably where a bit of the weight comes into it...
It’s a lot more than just fabric and plastic. You’re paying for design, research and development, logistics and general business overheads. These bivvies are incredible and worth every penny.

@Kieron Jolly just get the XD if height is an issue. That's 165cm tall, which for a brolly type bivvy is the best in class.
