Super helpful video... I was really struggling with getting the Zen32 to work as I needed. Your video made it easy to understand! Thank you! so much. I want to add that your pacing of explaining everything was perfect. So many of the guys doing similar videos seem to think they have to race to get it done and I find myself backing up lots and lots of times... Becomes annoying. Again thanks!
I just got one of these last week and a ZEN 71 - to replace 2x JASCO switches which got zapped during a storm. I love the 5-buttons feature, but as I am understanding from your video, I cannot use one of the 'lower-4' to turn on when another light is ON (as an indicator) of its status, is that correct? I would like to use the lower-4 to turn on other things and then LED go out (if I run an automation) but one of them I would like to be able to (a) Turn on/off the yard lights manually, (b) Light up when they are triggered on my sunset routine or turned on with the other switch in the other end of the house. Does not appear that I can do this?
Are you saying you want to have one of the lower 4's LED turn on when another light is on? You may be able to run an automation that changes the configuration parameter for that LED from "always off" to "always on", but I'm not sure if it's recommended to keep reconfiguring a Z-wave device via automation.
@@makeitworktech Yes. For example The button 2 (the first of the 4 buttons) would be awesome if I could the following (a) Press it and turn on the other outside lights and I have set the color already to RED and the light be on (indicating they are on))...and/or (b) if I have turned them on from their switch (a ZOOZ ZEN71 switch) but have the light come on the ZEN 32) indicating they are ON. Basically, as a switch/relay to turn them on or as an indicator they are on. The switch for them is in an out of the way place and not walked by at bedtime. Would be a nice indicator that they are on. Sometimes I want them on while I sleep (like when the neighbors having a party) - a deterrent for them coming in my yard.
Have 2 of these switches. I like them a lot. Was really excited for the inovelli dimmer, but who knows if that will ever see the light of day with all that drama. As a zooz and inovelli fan I have no real preference (other than ease of ordering through amazon and price in zooz's favor), but I do find it ironic that inovelli takes shots at zooz and can't even get its own house in order lol. The "I gave it the old college try" has been out for awhile and seems relatively popular, while inovelli can't get their act together.
I agree. You get what you pay for with Zooz, that's for sure. At the end of the day, you need to come through on your promises. I do love the Inovelli switches, but Zooz is my go-to at this point due to price and, well... availability. Hope to see Zooz branch out into smart outlets at some point!
Very nice, straight forward tutorial. I chuckled at the Inovelli Switch appearing in a Zooz video.
Thanks! Haha, the inovelli switch has yet to be shipped... I hope it will eventually!
This is fantastic, thank you for this guide
Much appreciated! Glad you enjoyed

Thanks for this Aaron. Do you need a zen or z-wave hub to use with home assistant or will these be visible through wifi?
You'll need a Z-Wave radio, yes!

No way to set the color of the LEDs to custom colors?
Not that I could find. Only the preset red, green, blue, and white 👎
Inovelli is never in stock so it doesn't matter what it can do.
They dropped the project anyway
Thanks for the shoutout! We look forward to seeing your review of our 5-Button Dimmer Switch when it comes out soon! -Brianna | Marketing Manager
Looking forward to getting to playing around with it!
Any release date for your 5 button switch with dimmer?
