Dante's Down The Hatch - A piece of Atlanta Jazz history with the John Robertson Trio

- Dante's Down The Hatch was Atlanta's oldest jazz spot - an iconic location known around the world - until it was torn down in October 2013 to make room for another high rise apartment building.
The John Robertson Trio has been playing at Dante's since 1989 - and 6 nights a week in the Buckhead location since 2000. The only jazz band I've ever known to have had a nightly gig in the same place for 24 years.
Dante's Down the Hatch is a jazz club / fondue restaurant that opened in Underground Atlanta in 1969 - with a second location in Buckhead opening in 1981. The restaurant is designed as an early 20th century Mediterranean village (with elements of Americana) with an 18th century sailing ship docked in the middle of it, surrounded by a moat with live crocodiles . . . and, live jazz. Dante has offered live jazz 6 nights a week for 43 years.

I hate I missed this era
GREAT FILM PRODUCTION!
Very nice guys...Thumbs up!
Wow. whatta band. Rosemary is the epitome of Betty Bebop Carter, combined with Aretha and some Shirley Ceasar too .... John is the next Nat Cole; Terry is mr. quiet-powerful drummer man and Edwin is a technician on that upright. ATLANTA will forever miss this unit when the club closes on July 31, 2013... glad I gotta chance to experience this authentic jazz room. One of the last in the nation. Go Bebop, forever.
keeping captive crocodiles in closed up space. so fine, so sophisticated
Trying to find information to contact Rosemary Rainey about her music school/lessons...no contact information for booking etc found. Any help would be appreciates
I will try to get some contact information for you! I don't have it myself.
