I don't even have any of those afflictions, but I have anxiety/OCD + autism, and I like peace. :) What is your favorite videogame? I don't game, but I would choose any small indie game over the corporate ones
I am the same, and Red Dead Redemption 2 did not cause me anxiety because you can always run to get away if it gets too rough. (Don't play online open world.) There's no "gore" (other than very basic blood splatters if you shoot a target) and no demons or zombies in the original or the 2nd one. Just don't bother with the zombie one. I became so addicted to it that I got about 5 other people hooked on it just by watching my gameplay. And I'm a grown woman! If you've not tried it, you can watch UA-cam videos to see if you'd like it. The open world game is terrible though- lots of trolls just looking to wipe out newbies and they come out of nowhere. In the game, you hunt animals, look for treasures, go to hideouts and shoot the bad guys, but there's an easy mode so you can point and the game automatically locks on your target, and you just fire. Some gang hideouts are a *little* stressful but believe me-- I tried Call of Duty World at War and couldn't handle it- I was shaking and everything, heart racing, etc. RDR2 was *nothing* like that. You can also choose to go in the wilderness and just find and pick flowers. You trade in your animal skins and flowers for cash, buy clothes, etc. Be careful of the northern areas as there's bears that may make you a little nervous, but if you follow the internet cheats on how to kill them, they're not scary. I am full of anxiety and I was laughing while figuring out that you can actually chase grizzly bears. Trust me- you will like this game. And I gave Complex PTSD so I know the drill with how terrible all these games are. I'm still on the hunt for something that is calm, and I don't like things like those city building games. I like to be able to see an open world. Let me know if you find anything good that's not violent!
@@alouise3557 same here, please let us have your suggestions. If you enjoy sorting out puzzles (and with the help of a good walk through!) you have the type like Myst and Raven that will transport you to visually pleasant empty surroundings so no violence whatsoever and hours of gameplay. Quite an immersive story line. A lovely game on CDs was The Long Journey, a bit linear and now very old but interesting story, some complex characters, a bit dramatic at times but no gore or fast pace. I also played on Morrowind on and off for a few years and enjoyed it the most when I discovered how to be invisible and fly, but there is unfortunately quite a lot of killing and tense moments before you reach those aptitudes, so maybe not the best for you although the architectures, the plants and animals and the night skies kept me going back to it. I also tried No Man Sky and enjoyed it until changing planet was always plagued by pirate attacks so I gave up.
@@thatguyalex2835 Minecraft on peaceful mode is actually a pretty nice game in my opinion. Even survival mode isn’t too bad as you are only fighting monsters and you only do it to survive. Then again it can sometimes be stressful and less… well peaceful lol
Not the list I would pick. I agree with Talos and Portal though. After that, I would choose Satisfactory, Subnautica, Outer Wilds, Cloudpunk, Firewatch, SOMA, The Witness.
Sims is not really violent (I play Sims 3 mainly). Also Planet Zoo is not violent. I like to play non-shooting games and enjoy some building but game play has to be decent.
European Truck Simulator 2 is amazing! Best played with a steering wheel and as you imply, it may not sound exciting but trust me - most people who try this game end up playing it for hours and hours and have no idea why!!
Give the like button dinner and shoulder massage but say you want nothing in return, just endless friendship....Gently give the bell an 80s style make-over while playing soft rock and telling it it's also beautiful on the inside.
My old timed favourites were Raven and Myst - it shows my age! Are there no such games being produced anymore? or some treasure-hunt geographic adventures?
Red Dead is the closest thing I could find to treasure hunting. Have you played that? There's violence but it's not dramatic and it's at your own pace. You can run away and hide if someone starts shooting. Lol. But stay away from the open world game- too many TROLLS!
@@alouise3557 sorry, Louise. Your answer and reply only showed today, 2 years later. I don't know Red Dead. That sounds like zombies, I shall have to check it out in case the exploration aspect is the most important feature. Thanks for the suggestion.
Great tips! Thank you! I still think that games with car races are kind of violent because the culture of speeding on games and movies tends to reflect on the real roads. But this is not a critic of your video, just a critic to society. 😅
Cities Skylines : make sure you are playing it on PC, specifically on Steam version. Not other versions. PC Steam version is a completely different game as it have access to full modding capability.
Thanks for the suggestion! It's a bit of a walking sim, so we did consider it, but ultimately decided not to include it on this list for technical reasons.
I don't play videogames at all, cos all it seems to be at the store are violent ones, but here is a list that I made. 1. Portal II 2. Pac-Man 3. Animal Crossing NH 4. Doom II (Time Tripper mod, no blood just cool neon colors that leak) 5. Subnautica 6. Cities: Skylines 7. Minecraft (personal mode) 8. Kerbal Space Program 9. Gran Turismo / Forza Horizon 4 / Rocket League 10. Basically any nonviolent indie game
There is an first person kid finding a way to an old house while the kids talks about its past and its brother how he was svinging...... But i cant find it anymore🥺🥺
I am VN vet, and I believe that there could be way more games and other types of video and sterioscopic VR that is enlightening and beautiful and stimulating, peaceful, challenging, in other words...supporting growth, learning. love beyond a constant sexual motif, and general humanity. Guns are one thing, there are a few other...things in existance hopefully... These if available, would open up a much more elaborate and varied marketplace that woud actually thrive beyond the fanboy and monkey with computer parts and add on economy, phase... Maybe theres another agenda going on. DUH.
We need more non violent aaa title that doesn’t mean there can’t be guns or combat… jus make it so you shoot out something non lethal.. problem solved much how like in fortnite there is no gore and you technically never see a player die they jus get knocked down. I could do away with all gore and dismemberment effects.. use the same tech to y colorful and beautiful explosions and sparks and mists or clouds so much that can be done and still give the eyes something impressive to see with out the image of a human being being harmed ever being on screen. I totally understand the mechanics of FPS like call of duty are here to stay.. I jus think we can walk away from the excessive gore and start to explore games where death isn’t involved and the guns or tools or weapons are non lethal and jus for fun.. if we could change the word “kill” to “knocked down” in video games this would also be very helpful and better for younger generations who are being brought up on this stuff in a way I wasn’t or generations before me wasn’t. Movies also focus way too much on violence.. it’s jus sad. I’m a fan of UFC don’t get me wrong but that’s totally different that’s a sport about respect between two men and they dont actually wanna hurt each other and they pray for each other before going in. But violence in video games has become so normlaiz3 and second nature… and that is the scary part. As long as you hold the perspective of this is jus a silly game for fun id say it remains jus that “a silly game for fun” but the more people start to take these games seriously and even as careers the more they are going to be affected by the game itself cus the game now is that much more real to those people because they get real world benefits from playing it. I could go on. Jus tone down the gore COD is my opinion and other studios should explore games where no one dies. Jus knocked down

I'm just tired of violence
Tchiha , the snowboard game , decenders , rooftops and alleys ,
these are all really well optimised non violent game
Not the list I would pick. I agree with Talos and Portal though. After that, I would choose Satisfactory, Subnautica, Outer Wilds, Cloudpunk, Firewatch, SOMA, The Witness.
SOMA doesn't belong imo, it's filled with violence.

Thank you, very good video. I somehow automatically thought that you have several thousand subscribers because this video is so well done.

I've been there, believe me.

It is fairly twisted that games that contain rich character development so often concern themselves with nightmares of one sort or another.
Great video and an interesting list. I am just getting back into games now and I want to play some interesting games. Thanks
Any time!
The way you talk is good keep it up
Thanks a lot 😊
Just downloaded a few games suggested here on Steam. Looking forward to trying them out! Thanksss~ :D

Thanks for the suggestion! It's a bit of a walking sim, so we did consider it, but ultimately decided not to include it on this list for technical reasons.
