Great video. Gave me some useful ideas for the pedal car I'm building for my granddaughters. I would like to add some electric assist and need to find some way of engaging/disengaging the electric drive. The clutch on your go kart looks like the perfect solution. I would be very grateful if your could explain exactly how it works so that I could fabricate one myself. I know it's a big ask but Googling produced nothing. Thanks again.
Glad I found this, am doing exactly the same thing.. any idea which of the red, green and yellow wires on the accelerator pedal are + and -? My controller doesn't have a label and I have no instructions.. bought second hand
Hi, I've since removed the electric motor now but still have the wiring loom which comes from the pedal and attaches to the female plug. See picture attached
Hey question I have a 48v 1800w electric motor its brushless but wondering is the sprocket that is on the back axle of go kart the same size as the sprocket on the motor did u have to swap sprockets?
no and youll need a 410 sprocket or if you can get it on the axle, a larger sprocket (t8f is prob what you have) that has four holes that can be mounted on a sprocket that has 16 teeth.
@@vrhockeyscout9604 I see my pedal go kart has I believe its 11 or 12t sprocket in rear and the motor I've got is 1000w with 13t sprocket is that good for go kart thanks
lol...Will's gone!!. you built it, all you had to do was let him know about the batteries and wire situation , the chain coming off situation, the play in the wheels. and how dumb drivers act around children playing in the street and on bikes, etc. and he would been more careful/thoughtful as he tested the kart. IMO, of course. This is how i did with my nephew since he was 4 and i trust him to test my builds-in-progress. He's about ready for a 48v 2000w ebike('dirtbike' lol) but ive been considerinh making go karts. Ive been looking to see how 48v would handle on these pedal cars and if they are big enough for adults (me lol)
and i think a flag is necessary for safety, etc...and a bigger sprocket on the axel will make that kart faster, i think, because i dont think its powerful enough with the correct gear ratio.
Hi mate hope you ok and having a nice weekend my project is just slightly different from yours as I’m going to use a hyper electric drift cart but with Ketlor l rear end and axle or a go cart rea😮r axle but I was just wondering what you used for Breaking systems Or would I have to find some way of fitting some breaks anyway enjoy your weekend n thank you for a excellent video
Just picked up a pedal kart for $30 , looking to convert it. This was the best video walkthrough I could find. Ty
Love the design of that supporting bar to the steering wheel...Your kid was loving it , way to go
Nice i would recomend a bigger sprocket on tje axle though for more power and speed

your controllers. brake cable will cut off power to the motor.
Could do with a rear brake and pedal hooking up but pretty cool tho bud
Also, I think that motor has 3 speeds, it comes set up in medium speed. Teaching tech has a video explaining it on his electric mobility scooter/trike
I love having kids. We need an electric motor
So cool mate. Love it. Welldone
you can use 3 ewalt batteries it wont break it if they are not fully charge it will only give about 54v in series so it wont hurt it at all really
Sort those brakes out a
Left foot brake
Really awesome, cool!!!
Very cool want to do the same with mine do u have a link on for what is all needed and where to get it at and how much?
Hi this project is cool. Do you have a shopping list of all the kit you used? Got the same kart and want to convert
Thanks!
Very cool, credit to u mate
I have a 72v 3000w motor on my gokart👍👍
Hi, i’m thinking about buying this motor, how did it work out? Is it a good motor, does it overheat?
What kind of gokart?
No it doesnt over heat I pull 5000w through it works just fine. The name of the motor is MY1020

Nice little conversion dude, young guy looked like he was having a blast!
How's the motor and controller holding up?
What's the power of the motor you're using. I'm trying to turn an electric golf trolley with 2 180w motors. Any ideas???
Hi sorry I ask you, how did you manage to reduce the engine rpm and still have power on the transmission?
Hard to find a sprocket for.the motor that matches sprocket on the axle where didn u get the sprocket on motor from?
needs proper gearing then its good, i want to do this on a large kettler
Do you have links to the motor, controller and batteries and pedal

Where do you get those little interconnects from? The one you used to put it in reverse?
Do ypu have the link to the sprocket that goes on the motor

How long do those 7ah batteries last
Hi, I'm trying to build a go kart like this one, but I've got one question, how do you charge the bateries?
With a 12v battery charger
@@grizzlyfn393 you charge each one separatly?
@@joancardona9743 you can charge individually or use a 48v charger.
27:15 TotalPanicMode=ON 😅
