Hi switch and click I am. Back
Also it also *truly surprises* me too
Which switch do you have
It is a bit annoying that certain things are our of focus, and there is a bit much motion blur.
I have this keeb and tbh it’s not great it sounds meh like nothing specifically nm I got a different model which costed more and is so much worse
As someone who had the original Tecware Phantom 87, it is cool to see the little upgrades like custom switches and extra dampening layers in the Phantom+
That's really good value for $55. I personally like floating cap style keyboards just because of the ease of of cleaning. The only thing it's missing for me is probably a volume control wheel/knob.
my very first mechanical keyboard was a tecware phantom 87 years ago. after i learned about the custom kb space (and watched your videos ofc), i stuffed foam in it, changed the switches and keycaps, all the things! 2 years later and i still build keyboards; this boring rectangle really has a place in my heart 🙏
87 years ago?? Really
87 years ? Damn
for those who want to hear the sound test it starts at 12:17
Pin this plz
big w
Thanks for the info.
I have the original tecware phantom w/ outemu switches as well, this was super interesting to watch. It's lasted me for over 2 years now, I've modded it a lot by swapping to AKKO CS yellow switches, buying diff keycaps, doing a tape mod, bandaid mod for my stabs, and got the shroud. It's amazing and I love using it every single day.
what switches??
same lol, i have the original with akko cs silvers, keycaps, shroud, and a few other mods. its cool to see them fixing with their own custom switches and small little upgrades from the original version
it does look like they removed the little area where they put the keycap puller in the back of the board tho
I think the extra 25$ for the elite version is a also good deal with the additional cover, pbt keycaps, 5-pin sockets, and of course the wireless capability.
@@oleksandrhusiev6544 huh, it says 5 pin on the website
@@oleksandrhusiev6544 5. it's just that the 2 extra holes aren't cut on the poron foam.
@@flyingwifis9985 pins are much better tho
Still my favorite keyboard UA-camr. Soothing voice. Manages to stay informative without sounding elitist. Keep it up!
bro wdym sound like an elitist??
I appreciate that, thank you!
@@JunjisYun what u except it’s a npc or a bot
@@JunjisYun more thocky 😃
bro...I mean girl, what kind of review is this? you just read a bed time story to us!
This keyboard is a lot better than i expected it to be. Congrats on 700k you deserve it!
thank you!!
The way I'm still using my OG Phantom for 3 years.. this does seem like a pretty neat upgrade. Currently using it with the white shroud, and outemu silvers. No mods either and it's still pretty darn good.
Edit: the shroud seems pretty weak (magnetically) on the phantom+. I haven't had any issues with the shroud on the OG and it holds on really well, a little too well sometimes.
This kb is so good I almost don't want it to be covered by too many creators and jacked up the price/scalped it. Kudos to Tecware!
I have the Phantom + Elite and one thing to note, for those thinking of using this as a base further down to swap switches etc. The switch foam is 3-pin only so even though the PCB is 5-pin capable, the foam is not.
Elite has 3 pin, not 5, I got one today and very disappointed with it
@@oleksandrhusiev6544 I dont know if your board is different to mine. But mine was 5pin and says so on the box.
As I mentioned though the foam is not which is stopping you from inserting the a 5pin switch. If you open it up and remove the switch foam, you should find that a 5pin switch fits perfectly ok
@@oleksandrhusiev6544 the pcb is 5pin. so you just put your 5pin switch and it goes through the switch pad foam
Yeah I think the biggest feature of tecware boards is their surprisingly decently pre-lubed stabs, basically makes them way better than the average "gaming" keyboard in this budget range.
Tecware is a local company here in Philippines. They make a good peripherals on a budget.
I've been waiting for this since you posted the short! Thank you so much, Betty! Awesome review and feedback as always. 😊
Always a good day when there’s a new keyboard video
Got the Phantom Elite + about a week before you released your youtube short on it. I think it deserves its own video comparing it to other keyboards in its price range. I don’t know why its not gerring as much hype as it should. Its the best sounding prebuilt TKL with 3 way connectivity, decent PBT shinethrough keycaps, enthusiast level switches (with the pink and orange options), and it even comes with a coiled cable.
I hope you can make a 2023 budget keyboard showdown video soon. The Phantom Elite + would probably come out on top.
Thank you!
For the sound test... Was that the pink switch?
The old tecware phantom was my first tkl keyboard. Even though it only took outemu style switches, I still think of it as one of the best prebuilt tkls with hotswap.
I'm glad they made an updated version
Nice keyboard, I was looking at one of the Phantom keyboards but I got a RK TKL instead because in Canada it was much cheaper. It also had the options of the + too. Great video and I do think this one sounds better than mine, but I did get some mods for mine, I just have to do them 🙂
those phantoms at a time used to be for some reason really hard to get because they were so nice including the low profile version
Tecware was my first foray into mechanical keyboards. They don’t have everything but they are a great place to start
Searched this up from the Zach's Tech Turf $750 setup guide video. WOW!
I bought this board around the end of march and I agree with this review. Though after 2 weeks some switches dont work so I had to replace them(with akko creamy yellow). Good thing there were 4 extras in the box. Also the software is kinda difficult to work with since you have to download 2 for this board.
If anyone Want's the Sound test It would be in 12:20 yw
A good budget keyboard i just got was the red dragon k631 pro se. I would love to see you review one, if your looking for different keyboards to review.
no love for the included brown switch option? I was thinking I might like that one as my first switch I’ve actually chosen.
Love the channel! btw making things into Pokémon analogy is effective for any explanation, more of that please 😂
Thank you, I've been waiting for someone to review this!
😀
I wish I had a gaming or mechanical keyboard 😞 also congrats in 700k ❤
thanks!
@@SwitchandClickOfficial np :D
Ngl. This is a great video lol. I just recently found your channel and this is really good lol
thank you!!
Congrats on 700k subs!!!
thank you!
can you put ANY kind of keycaps on this keyboard?? cuz i kinda want to make it look expensive. if not can you tell me how to know wich ones? thanks❤
it looks suspiciously similar to the krom kernel, another budget keyboard which is quite nice actually (im currently typing with it), perhaps they are made by the same factory
Most likely, everything is just a new logo slapped on these days
I actually like floating keycaps, it's easier to clean because I can just blow each side using a blower from a vacuum
I've been daily-driving a Phantom L with swappable low-profile Outemu Browns for the past 6 months and it's by faaaar the best $30 I've dropped on a piece of tech.
QNA;
1. What Lube do you use?
2. What website do you use for custom keyboards? (I need one).
3. What keyboard or switch is the best for “thock”?.
4. How much is your usual keyboard?
Im super exited i just found this keyboard for 35 bucks in Amazon. Cant wait to try it
i have to use a bad membrane keyboard with a broken windows key well i wait for this one to come in...
I have the regular phantom, it's really pretty good
BTW the software does have per key rgb control
I bought the phantom elite when i saw your short about the phantom plus and elite
Subscribed for your clean, clear honest explanation...
You acted a lil bit weird but I liked it... Cheers ❤
My fav keyboard UA-camr thank you for getting me into keyboards
This is, without doubt, _THE_ best KB video that I've seen so far, and I've watched lots and lots and lots and lots of them over the last few days as I'm looking to upgrade my old (but bombproof) QPAD MK-80, brown-switched tank of a KB with something a bit more refined (and with per-key RGB) and this looks to fit the bill nicely. 😎
So, thanks for the excellent video; I'll be sure to check out your others before I pull the trigger on one. 👍
PS. I'm more than used to a price disparity over here, and $s typically = £s, but the cheapest I can find the non-elite version in the UK is £79.99, which is ~ $97.22! For that price, how much would it change your opinion of the KB, if any? 😟
Wow, I'm impressed
As someone who lives in a dusty hellscape, floating keycap designs make it mich easier to get dust out of the gaps between switches.
Still a bit too gamery though
I actually have the phantom keyboard with browns! Had it for a few years now and I love it! I wish that I could’ve got it the nice white one now.
doesn't cherry have 3 pins switches too? I thought it can go in there
Tekware has been doing nice budget kbs, great overview of this one.
CIY X77 comes with the plastic shroud and has 5pin support at under 50 bucks. But for a straight out of the box experience, looks like the Phantom is a pretty solid choice.
Love this video quality and review!
thank you!
My phantom+ elite got delivered today it’s awesome
Which switch did you get, I looked for linear but there was only tactile left
I order tactile brown switches
Wich keys did you use in sound test?
Unfortunately techware dont sell in india so i bought a royal kludge rk71
3:52 Jesus I thought my mom actually walked in my room💀
People are sleeping on the Phantom so hard. Modded mine with ductape mod, foam, bandaid and installed lubed akko jelly blacks + doubshot key caps (do yourself a favor and swap the flimsy caps that come with it, they are wobbly and nasty). Great entry level hotswappable. Great for people like me who need german iso layouts and want to keyboard mod but don't want to spend and arm and a leg. Oh and the shroud is sooo worth getting. It also does not move like you did in the video, i'm shoving my kb around all the time and that shroud never got lose. Grabbed it on the side just now and was shaking it.. nope, still no lose shroud.
Can you make a fully custom keyboard with this?
it was impressive. i bought phantom + elite orange switch.
Tecware is getting the love they deserve nicee
ngl if you were to take this keyboard completely stock vs the average endgame keyboard and told me to choose based on looks, i would choose this
Which switches did you use for the sound test?
Hi! Which switches are used in the sound test, and is the sound similar to the elite keyboard version with same switches?
what switches were in that keybord
Just sharing my experience using Phantom+ Full Key, indeed Tecware's manufacturing is the best in the latest Phantom+ series compared to the old Phantom RGB, the damping is really good, it feels like using a keyboard >$200. But after using it for a few months, not even a year, the Tecware built-in switch quality needs to be improved, it starts to be unresponsive. Problems like that, I just replace the switch and it's done. That's all for sharing my experience, hopefully it will help friends who have same problem using this Phantom+.
Love the vid keep up the great content!
thanks, will do!
A. Wish my budget board came with that much foam. I molded. Tip) sheets of window cling make good case filler.
B. Civivi Pintail
I'm fairly new to keyboards. I plan to buy this but with orange switches since I like the sound on those the most. Are they good for gaming ?
Is there maybe an EU version? I really wanted this keyboard
Specifically does the Phantom plus elite have 1000hz polling rate when using in wired mode.
I wonder how the Hyperx PBT Keycaps would work on this keyboard.
You should check out the womier sk75 it’s $56
Lmao, love the closet edits😂😂! It really made my day. Thanks for the awesome vid❤
thanks for watching!
I really hope Tecware release this in ISO layout as well, like the original Phantom. This'd be an absolute no-brainer for me, a hotswap TKL in ISO format, removeable shroud and better RGB capabilities than the CIY X77.
What switches does she use for the sound test?
bought my Phantom Low profile TKL long time ago, cost like 40$, cant complain much. work horse for sure.

>looks down at the 2.5 year old Tecware Phantom L sitting on my desk with a set of pastel XDA keycaps
..What are this? I have NEVER heard of this brand! How did it get in to my house‽
Also fyi I got the software, it's a very simple interface but lets you control the RGB on a per key basis with whatever pattern you want + can reprogram any key to become anything else, and all this gets saved to the board so once it's configured you can uninstall the software and never think about it again 👍
Oh i have this keyboard, saw the thumbnail and was like "that looks familiar"
i never knew about this keyboard. thank you Switch and Click, i got my keyboard at 2017 and its missing 4 keys XD
what you can do, is to buy a shroud to cover the holes. it’s around 15USD i believe
Can you please try the Redragon K622 TKL? I'm interested in this one and the price isn't much too.
My cover magnets are super strong. I have a hard time removing it really. I guess they improved on that with newer iterations.
I've actually heard of that keyboard since late 2022 since Tecware primarily sells their products in Asia. XD
Are you going to review other Tecware keyboards?
This is keyboard can beat red dragon keyboards
What's the white lavender keyboard you use as comparison?
I know it's odd but I lol'd at "it's just a small bump".
Very nice review. This keyboard looks so cool, i never had a mechanical and don't want to put 150 - 200 usd on a premium. So i'll tried to get this one to see. But unfortunely i'm not able to find it in Europe (only the Tecware Phantom 87 is available)
I'm impressed with the quality of this keyboard. I was planning on getting the Redragon K552, but I think I'll get this one instead as my first "moddable" MKB :D I can always upgrade it with Akko's and they're good and not that expensive. Tecware even sell their own "Pudding" keys! I don't mind the "gamer" look of the keyboard and I don't need wireless setups for the on-the-go experience since I will only use it a home. Thanks a lot for this review! I'm excited to get it soon and start tinkering with it :D
I hope you enjoy it!
that keyboard is totally worth 55 dollars. it has a good quality, sound and appearance. i bought a logitech g pro gaming mechanical keyboard (sounds very professional) i rlly regret it. blue swtiches and no stablitizers... and the worst part of all - it costs over 400?? definitely not worth it. the apppearance is great tho
Would you choose this one over the keychron C1?
what switches are you using
Been wanting to get this keyboard but red switches are not even available! Which are best for gaming? What switches did you get them in? 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 (new sub here and noob lol)
Switch and clixk is so cool
I was wondering when this was coming out when I saw the short
Thank you for the review.
thanks for watching!
I recently got a GMK67 kit with gateron milky yellow pros. First mechanical keyboard I've owned and think its great, a cheap barebone but pretty nice. Thought you might find it interesting 😊
Hey! I have a little request. Can you make a video abt HavitKB-869 tkl. And customize it ThanksYouSoMuch😊
I actually think gaming keyboards looks much cooler with floating keycaps. Looks more high tech and rgb is better appreciated
If u are a scychopath and like blue switches the rii rk908 tkl is a good option
what switches did you have on when you did the sound test at the end of the vid
Hi, I came to ask you something, do you recommend this keyboard or the Kumara K552?
Finally, from this keyboard which switches do you recommend me for a casual gamer, I usually write and play.
