- Deathloop is out, to absolutely no hype or fanfare. It seems like Arkane Studios has released failure after failure, not one reaching the success of Dishonored. Which is really a shame because Prey is a great game. Well, sales have never equaled quality, so how good is Deathloop? Watch and find out in this review analysis tuber title.

Prey was fucking amazing. I've played it over so many times, ringing out as much content as I could. Really enjoyed the map layout other than the elevator and have had it end slower I'd feel a lot better. Moreover the design was my favorite of any game and it definitely has the best A.I of any Arkane game.

I mean, it makes sense that Colt is stronger than Julianna. While playing as Colt there is a risk to having your run messed up while there is no risk for Julianna.
And Juliana is more likely to have better abilities and weapons as well as get the drop on you so it balances out

@@richardpatterson1694 It's opposite - Julianna must advance in levels to get equipment, while Colt can just hunt for best stuff. Example? I couldn't get Reach untill max level, I got Ghost like only a moment earlier. Colt can just go visit same Visionary few times in a row if he likes that particular slab in order to upgrade it. I would say that Developing Colt is Waaay stronger that Julianna, while Fully upgraded Julianna has strategic advantage above Colt, so it often balances out.
Nah, it takes 10 hours to have a min maxed cole meanwhile Jules has to grind out 50 hunter levels. The risk is all on her end.

@@autistickebab7636 yes. In metro Hardcore mode (or Ranger mode, whatever the hardest difficulty is) enemies are extremely smart, trying to complete it with the lack of ammo and low health on a console was hard

His friend instantly noticed how he got cut off mid-sentence and started to say: "Zanya, where are you? Are you ok?", as he walked towards towards the approximate location of where I stabbed him. Everyone is different. For me my number 1 Arkane game is actually Prey. I loved that game so much, one of the few games I beat multiple times. Mooncrash was dope. Idk just loved the vibe, weapons, metroidvania aspect. My number 2 is dishonored. And this game is in last. Just beat it and found it not as juicy. I hope Arkane doesnt go away though, I love the type of games they make and want more of them. Not enough games like come out anymore since bioshock series went bye bye, which i dont understand where they went.
It's really nothing like Dishonored; narrative, structure, style, or setting. Idk what he meant by that. Deathloop is a more streamlined game because Prey is so open that if you have a bad experience, it's kind of your fault for not getting creative. Deathloop tries to force you to get creative by making you approach maps different every time, in pretty clever ways. I really just wish it was a more stable game.
@@PunkishPenguin Yea prey just plops you into the game after one of the most amazing intros, I was hooked and just loved figuring all the rest out. For that game it just worked. Deathloop had me confused on the story for most of it, I think it was because you're just finding all these pieces of different story lines everywhere randomly, they don't start connecting till later after some of the twists are revealed. And once you notice the game just pieces it a together for you, I know of stopped caring/trying to myself. I loved the concept though, it kept me around till the end.

Newest prey was the closest I could get to half life 2. Bio shock doesnt cover it... it involves way more freedom and brain work than bioshock. It’s like comparing a play ground to an on the rails ride
Worth to note that Prey was developed by a completely different team. Prey - Austin, Texas. Deathloop - Lyon, France. I still have hope for what the US team will develop. I absolutely loved Prey.

I absolutely love deathloop, and I will admit the marketing was terrible. I just wish they added more things to the game, like more gold weapons and slabs. Or even a hidden visionary.
The story line would make no sense if there was a hidden visionary but yea I wish there were more gold weapons and stuff. It really bugs me when a game lets you have legendary gear for only part of your kit. Like why do I still have a grey tier knife and grenade after I just beat it? Also purple tier character skills? Not a single lengendary skill? Not one? My OCD is going insane knowing I just beat the game and only my weapon loadout is legendary. Hopefully they add to it in a dlc or a sequel, such a great game but its soooo close to being perfect IMO. And the story felt like it was just getting started when it ended so I hope Arkane follows through on this IP, it has so much potential

I mean i think arkane should be protected at all costs in my opinion they are one of the only AAA type studios that actually consistently trys to make different games. They usually aren't blockbuster games though, i do however think redfall is going to be their attempt at a more mainstream appealing game , but i still think because of their history it will have some neat elements to it that the studio is known for.

Different games yes, but in the same envelope. I consider Prey their magnum opus. Everything else felt like a good game, but nothing exceptional. FIrst Dishonored was great gameplay wise and map desigh, but story is meh. I was expecting with Dishonored 2 they will make better attempts at writing decent story, but it turnes out same. Map design still top of the line, game play pretty much the same. Story meh. Same with Dishonored death of the outsider. And now, looking at Deathloop, everything pointing out to the same conclusion. Only now they downgraded their gameplay and map design to capture wider audience. Dont know this can work honestly.
Prey is the only game where music, story, gameplay and map design was exceptional. Game is almost a masterpiece. I hope they will try to make something new and great again, not clones of Dishonored.

Sorry but your points fell short. You are comparing it to dishonored when this was clearly not supposed to play like dishonored. It has the same overall mechanics but stealth was not prioritized in this game and that’s fine. Because this game was never marketed as a stealth game. As a fan of Arkane studios I love what they did with deathloop and this game definitely is. 10/10. Best game of 2021 so far.

I agree! If it had more a hit man style approach where there were dozens of different ways to solve the puzzle, then we’d be looking at a 9/10 game.
To be fair they said that was going to be a thing in the lead up to the game. I haven’t played the game myself but I think intent is for it to be more of a puzzle you solve day over day to find the perfect loop. Also I’m assuming you can actually kill them anyway you want, like you don’t have to specifically use stealth or combat or the four pounder to kill them. Unless I’m wrong and it’s that specific you still have a level of flexibility no?
But there is flexibility in every other aspect of the game. It's the journey you take to figure out the perfect day that is the main part of the game. That's where you have the freedom to do what you want to figure things out.
Fully agree. I would have liked it if there were at least other ways of accomplishing it without a guide telling you how. Really allow you to feel like you have solved the puzzle.
@@mlp_firewind8129 problem is, it ends up not feeling like a puzzle to solve. By the end, it just feels like a bunch of check box hunt for clues missions that have little to no input from the player. Compared to hit man, which has a dozen ways or areas to arrange for the target to die, this game has only 1 location they will be at the end and pretty limited options on killing them (stealth or guns)
Arcane is part of Bethesda which is part of Microsoft. They will be fine as a studio.

@@3adir_ Bigpark made kinect games, kinect is dead. So there is no reason for them to keep that studio going. Also it was not closed, it was consolidated.
Press Play made Max: the curse of brotherhood, and some other title no one remembers. The heads of Press Play also reacquired the studio so it's not closed.
Team Dakota existed purely for Project Spark development, with that closed the dev had no reason to exist. And, like Bigpark, it was consolidated, not closed.
Good Science is also a purely Kinect developer... and also consolidated.
The only Studio in your list actually closed and gone (and who anyone gives a shit about) is Lian Head and they closed due to their own issues. MS wanted a Fable game, everyone else wanted a Fable game, Lion Head felt like making some stupid dungeon maker with the Fable theme, which no one wanted. And then they spent the next several years making no progress on it.

Developers these days are too afraid to commit to stealth gameplay. Best ones in recent memory, for me, were Mark of the Ninja, Styx 1&2, and Aragami 1&2. Every other game sprinkles stealth in, but no one commits to it. Even the Thief 4 developers said they were afraid to lean all the way into stealth, which I think destroyed any chance of a AAA stealth experience.

1. The studio doesn’t classify this game as a stealth game. The game trailer showcases many styles to kill enemies. And it is way more fast-paced then Dishonored
2. How well does your “above average” pc compare to a PS5? I played it on a PS5 and this is the best PS5 game I played so far.
3. After finishing the game I have to say although there are only 4 maps, the whole world is way bigger than you can explore during the first 5 - 8 hours
1. I'm aware. Prey isn't a stealth game either. But "Action-Stealth" (AKA Far Cry style) is a more accurate descriptor than Immersive Sim because this game lacks RPG elements, NPCs you can talk to, and environmental interaction. The level depth and stealth are the only elements like an immersive sim.
2. My PC is a bit weaker than a PS5, but that's irrelevant because the game is poorly optimized and has Denuvo DRM that makes the game stutter.
3. I agree with this somewhat, but the game still felt a bit shallow by the time I finished it at roughly 16 hours in.
@@SyntheticMan DRM is not what is making the game 'stutter'. It's a bug tied to mouse movement at certain framerates and this is proven on Alex Battaglia's DF video. And technically it doesn't stutter, the gameplay is smooth and frame pacing issues are good, the mouse movement gives the appearance of stutter. There is a beta patch which alleviates it quite a bit.

RedFall definitely killed them.
I just beat the game and love this game. Played on ps5 so I didn’t meet many optimization issues. The game frees me from smashing my F5 and F8. You don’t have to do stealth if you failed to or don’t want to do.
I'm enjoying the game and I'm also playing on PS5 but I have had the game freeze on me and just a little while ago it crashed right when I was about to exit an area which made me kind of sad but it'll be fine, might be able to do even better and NOT die in a place that I can't retrieve my risidium 😑.

And you are again talking about sales. Microsoft cares mostly about Game Pass subs not sales. That's why they need every type of game, even games that are not system sellers to drive those subscriptions. That's why they are making FPS games, strategy games, RPG games, action adventure games, 2D side-scrollers, beat-em-ups, racing games etc. etc.
Arkane does not need to produce games that will sell millions. They just need to provide quality games that will motivate people to not cancel subs/drive new subscribers. I can see Sony shutting them down like Japan Studio, because Sony cares only about sales. But not Microsoft.

Prey is the only game that stood out, but again, an FPS, so within the realm of familiarity. Nothing wrong with that, but the issue is every other game still seems to be doing a Bethedsa and making the same thing, with varied mechanics and playstyle. Well, Bethesda games degrade, but alas.
You're almost saying Microsoft can have as many garbage games as possible on the platform and it would be okay, long as GamePass keeps growing...No. Sales reflect on the quality and why people would even want GamePass. I think you're getting ahead of yourself. XBox is making anything other than what we know of and to be released, everything else is what sells on the system or third-party. Other words, the usual. They have never been able to expand beyond what they have been known for, especially as far as the Japanese market is concerned. They have their audience and that won't change for Sony or them unless they want huge losses to make a transition to sell things that generally don't for them.
I think the discussion has been on quality, not sales. You are making the sales point more than what it is when I was saying sales will reflect on the developer overall, not MS. Ummm, Microsoft has shut down far more studios than Sony has, or let studios go dark. Sony is known for utilizing their acquisitions, which reflects on the games they have had in the past and why they prioritize exclusives. Microsoft is the only one out of the three that need a strategy outside of games because games are their biggest weakness. XBox belongs to one of the greediest, corrupt conglomerates in the world; Sony doesn't hold a candle to Microsoft's dirt.

IMO the game would not be that great as a run and gun shooter. What makes the game tick for me personally is the methodical stealth puzzles and being as quiet as possible. Never shooting loud weapons when not in aggressive combat. Stealth always - stay crouched 80% of the level type stuff. The game would be ho hum for me if my play style was to just mow everything down as loudly as possible. Quiet every loop is the way to go for me.
Or be like dishonored and have combat be viable but only against certain number of enemies and requiring you to go back into hiding if an alarm gets sounded, (granted though nexus kinda breaks everything)
Prey is my all time favorite game. Especially on Series X with 60 fps and HDR in 1440p. The game actually blew my mind in how many ways you could work through situations, and how overwhelming and dangerous the enemies actually felt. The game kept me on the edge of my seat until the final few hours of the game, assuming you did side stuff and actually get a ton of upgrades. The DLC was actually pretty cool as well, which had a rogue lite sort of system as well.
That game was an ACTUAL 10/10.

@Tanner I can kinda see why it didn't do so well. When you FIRST start the game, it can be tough and confusing. It's just feels like an intimidating game, that would be hard to really get into. I bought it a long time ago, tried it and quit. Then when I got the Series X, I could turn on auto HDR and FPS boost. It was a One X title so it ran at 1440p already but 30fps. The boost to 60fps and HDR made it look really nice and I gave it another shot. Once I got about an hour in, I was HOOKED.
It's on a huge space ship with a bunch of locked off things and areas, and you can come back as you gain access or get higher skills to unlock certain stuff. It has guns, but you aren't like a military guy, so you aren't some hero, and it's often best to avoid conflict until later game if you can. There are LITERALLY thousands of ways to approach situations in this game through use of skills, accessing ventilation shafts, distracting enemies, etc. It blew my mind because I would be like, "Hmm... I wonder..." And try something off the wall, and have my mind blown that trying some I obscure thing actually worked.
There are all sorts of mysteries throughout the station, and talking to survivors and reading files on people's PC often makes them seem like real people.
And there is a MASSIVE twist in the game, but I won't ruin it. You have to make decisions on things, and there is never a really good or bad choice, everything is kinda morally ambiguous.
It's was just an AMAZING game, and I wish it got the recognition it deserves. Honestly one of the top games of the last 10 years. It has RPG mechanics, and 50+ hours of gameplay.
It's classified as an "immersive sim" since the environment is so immersive in the ways you can actually tackle everything. You can basically pick up/move/throw everything. It also is sort of a stealth/fps (with some elements of bioshock), and another genre that I forget the name, but it's where you gained new info and abilities as you progress farther, that unlocks more areas in places that you've been to already, and you go back and forth.
Honestly, it's kinda like if BioShock and Dishonored had a baby, but got divorced, and it was raised by a dead space step dad. Yeah, it's just as great as all three of those games, and shares elements from each. It's a challenging game, with a good story, and no handholding.
I love Prey and it's easily one of my favourite Immersive Sims of all time. I don't think it's a revolutionary game though. It more or less treads the same ground that we saw nearly twenty years ago with System Shock 2, even down to the plot. Prey is more of a refinement of that Immersive Sim genre. It took everything that made games like System Shock 2 and Deus Ex great and improved and expanded on them. It IS System Shock 3 as far as I'm concerned.

I'm playing on ps5 and haven't had any performance issues so far personally. Really been enjoying it myself. It is fun af. Freedom to play how you want. Do what you want. Experimenting is the name of the game. It is fun. Which is what gaming is about. I feel like it is Dishonored lite. Doubt this will be the death of Arkane. No need to always be a Debbie Downer. Play what you enjoy and enjoy what you play. Also Prey is still amazing. And yes the ai are funny and not too bright. Still fun though.

I went in to this game expecting nothing with how bad the user reviews are and i was blown away by how much I enjoyed it but i absolutely cannot accept the terrible performance, horrible game engine, and broken ai.
Currently playing it on ps5, and it has performed great. Considering I’ve never played dishonored this game feels fresh. One thing I really wish was done better was the guns blazing approach you can take. Didn’t feel really rewarding which is why I’ve been going stealth. Overall good game.
Playong Prey, another of Arkane's games, Ihad to jury rig a batch file to open the DLC seoarate from the main game, because if I didn't it'd run at 15FPS. Also if I ever put texture qualoty over medium, all textures wouldbecome super muddy. Also also loading time take minutes. At this point I think Arkane has become synonymous with stability issues.

"Stealth" in deathloop is more there for the sakes of being there. It's clear it wasn't meant to be a focus. This isn't exactly dishonored where player choice is everything.
Even the stealth lite Hitman has better mechanics, further sightlines that challenge you.

This game won’t end the studio. I finished it on Ps5 had experienced zero bugs like on PC. The game plays great on performance mode. I loved the voice acting, story, and style of the game. I’ll play more of it even after beating it today.

To me if they did make another dishonored I wouldn’t be mad cause I loved all of them but they would have to be longer cause all three games where really quick to finish at about 6 or 7 hours each. Which isn’t bad but it’s not a lot of time in that universe of the game. And it isn’t that repayable either which is another thing. Death loop is fun until it isn’t, once you’ve killed the same people and ran the same route over and over eventually it gets to repetitive to want to continue. Death loop is a padded out dishonored game with less content than any dishonored before it... which is bad. I didn’t finish death of the outsider yet but I feel like I was at the end and only played for a few hours, so overall it’s a good game but not $60 and it’s t doesn’t need to be exclusive because that isn’t helping the sales of the game. Your analysis is fairly spot on, but with how hyperbolic your title is and opening the video by shitting on the game saying the only reason for its high regard is due to Black protag just kills any merit to your review. You lead off with your bias and it taints your entire review. They obviously went in a different direction from prey and dishonored and that obviously upset you but you need to accept the game for what it is and judge it on those merits instead of just wanted a different skin for Prey/Dishonored.
The point is the game is being rated highly because "oooohh it got all black main cast" instead of the game merit. The game is a watered down dishonored mashed with Austin Powers, I played the game it is ok, but not enough to hook me up like Prey or Dishonored.

I compared this a lot to Dishonored when I saw it, and was excited to try many new weapons and powers that might have not made it into those games. The guns feel great but I'm so disappointed that you can only use 2 abilities (or slabs) at once.
It'd be really unbalanced if you could equip more. It makes it so you need to decide which slabs to take in for each scenario.

It was, but on the other hand I blame the progressives/extreme left for perpetuating all the forced diversity in other IPs in the first place. I just thought it was an amazing game with excellent replay value, very funny writing, and an awesome mix of stealth and action. I wouldn't give it a 10. But I can easily see it being a 9 or 8.5. The 4 levels argument was silly because the enemy layout and mix up of traps and doors that are or are not locked really make it fun for quite some time. I sunk around 15 hours into it before getting the ending but still played for a while afterwords.
And I played this game waaaay more as a stealth game. Also just turn down the bloom... there were a good amount of graphic customizations.
Idk I thought the game was good and the race thing is never even hinted at in game at all.

Honestly I think you're being dramatic. Deathloop isn't going to "end" Arkane, they seem to be doing just fine.
The game was a cool concept with lazy execution. Being able to play a Dishonored game where you can kill everyone without any negative moral outcome is great and the aspect of solving this time puzzle sounded cool, but they totally failed on it. Hitman and the prior Dishonored games already did this right by making the targets always loaded into the world with routes and behaviors you could anticipate in order to play out the perfect kill. Having every target always loaded in with these set routes and behaviors would give the player the freedom to discover for themselves the most optimal route and order of events to take down your targets....giving it a sense of improvisation and making the world feel more alive and reactive. It's just a cool concept at this point.
I think that they didnt Made it Like you described because they wanted deathloop to be more of an Action title instead of stealth and that it would be too easy If you know the enemy Locations

Prey is a pretty amazing game, same as Dishonoured 1 and 2. That whole semi-open world aspect with tons of exploration really makes these games special along with the morality and stealth system. Story pretty great as well so when I heard they were making another game I was pretty excited cause I like these games but seeing the game it just doesn't feel like an Arkane game. Just looked like a huge step backwards. I'd much rather have another Dishonoured or Prey which isn't likely.
If they're going to make another game I hope they go back to how they made their older games. Issue is Deathloop got 10/10 and awards which weren't really justified so they've probably got it in their heads that this is a good game despite the fact the game has essentially bombed in terms of player count. In February they lost 70% of their players, the game is essentially dead after a couple months.
I disagree, it's a great game. I loved the first dishonored game, but I couldn't get into Dishonored 2. Totally think the game is worth 60 dollars. Great crafted experience. Now that Mircosoft owns them they won't care as much about sales. They just want games on their xbox pass. (yes I know that this game isn't on xbox)

Deathloop is a basic version of dishonored. Most of the powers are copied over, but with different names. The A.I is terrible on deathloop that game and you can only use 2 powers smh. The game is about time, but you can't use any time powers. Don't know what they were thinking lmao. Even on Metacritic, the user score is 6.1 which tells you a lot. People really think deathloop is on the same level as red dead 2, God of War and Zelda BOTW?

It's about the various ways you can go about those levels. This guy just went and shot everything. Stealth is a viable option, and you have powers that can damage enemies or reposition them.

I feel like this game needed one more year for development purposes. It looks like a 7-8/10 rather than a 10. I love Arkane and support them but yeah definitely underwhelming compared to their recent work (Dishonored 2 and Prey)
In the future we will probably see better works from them with Microsoft backing them, they should have more than enough time and money to make something better in the future.

First of all games do sometimes get recognition for their diversity but I have never seen a bad game get good reviews on that. The difference between an 8/10 versus a 10/10 is very subjective. Sure maybe you don’t think a game is a masterpiece but that doesn’t mean others can’t.
Moreover I have yet to see any review on the game talk about the race of its main characters. Now I haven’t seen ever review out there but tbh having a black protagonist isn’t that unique or impressive at this point. If the implication is that all the reviewers are secretly giving the game better reviews because it has a black lead well that’s just an actual conspiracy theory. And if these major reviews aren’t talking about race then why are we?
I can defuse this entire argument with a single question. Is Metroid dread getting good reviews because Samus is a woman, yes or no?
The lack of map wide alerts to gunfire single handedly broke this game for me you're right. Not even pinging in multiplayer alerts npcs, only those in your immediate vicinity. So 2 guards? Woooow.
Quite honestly, they over-advertised this game for me, over the past 2 years they advertised this game every chance they could, going over the same talking points over and over again at every event, it was like RAIDS: Shadow Legends level of advertising and they still didn't properly explain the dynamics, only the premise.
Yeah the marketing for this was awful. I saw so much promotional focus on this game and never even knew what style of game it was until it actually released. All the marketing just made me want to turn my brain off.
That said, knowing it's a sort-of dishonored style game wouldn't have gotten me excited either. I loved the first game but dishonored 2 was trash, I didn't even finish it. Seems like the studio bled out all their talent and HR made sure they got replaced based on identity politics rather than skill.
@@ickyfist I am of the same mind, I saw it as a Dishonored game except without the intriguing Dieselpunk setting and a focus on guns, which wasn't a good thing since the combat in Dishonored is pretty basic.

just checked steam numbers and for the 3k players, you got yourself a lot of hate. I attempted to figure out why they disliked the video but the first few pages are all positive comments.. do you delete the negative or are the dislike from robots that can't post?
i was wondering a bout that as well, the comment to views ratio does not seem bellow average at around 2%, so it does not seem like comments deletion.
It's a mostly single player experience and doesn't have that much replay ability why would there be a lot of players?
And besides that not everyone comments some people just heard some of the stuff he said didn't like it and they left a dislike and went to another video its not some conspiracy

@@richardpatterson1694 oh! I didn’t even think of that. I spend so little time seeing julianna and colt’s face i forget they’re even black until the main menu or end of the loop. I thought he was referring to it being a PS5 exclusive honestly. I thought he meant they were giving it good reviews to show it was a good PS5 exclusive and make people want to buy the system. All in all i enjoyed the game. I could’ve definitely seen it for maybe 40-$60. Pretty elaborate game. And I’ve only played as colt so far.

It exists within the rogue genre for about 2 hours. You literally gain the ability to save all your things across loops after the first mission. You also don’t lose any progress at all. So yeah, not a roguelike or lite for that matter. It leans into that premise just long enough to teach you how to avoid it which is extremely easy to do as you’re collecting residuum for infusion everywhere. I had 80,000 at one point bc I just had nothing more to save. Best of luck with your content moving forward. I’ve heard enough.
So the game pretends to be roguelike/lite, then switches into a mindless shooter (like every Farcry after #3) with worse AI than Halflife 2 (AI that actively predicted and tried to counter your movements in combat) + Dishonored powers (with no innovation or risking weirdo mechanics) + a sprinkle of immersive sim puzzle solving?
Sounds like this game either couldn't decide what it wanted to be in terms of game-play and mechanics, or it was too afraid to commit to any one-three mechanics instead opting for the middle of the road to maximize mass appeal. The founder of Arkane, Raphaël Colantonio, who left after Prey said it best, "Because the numbers to recoup a triple-A game, you're talking about numbers that are so high that, then you're not making a game anymore, you're making a product".

Anybodys whose saying this is 10/10 is being payed for sponsorship. Its a great game.. so are alot of others. A 10/10 is perfect without fault. Deathloop has faults. It's also really fun. I reccomend personally but yall don't know me so that's meaningless! It'll be in gsmepass in 12 months probably

I think the major gaming review outlets like it because it's easy with no punishing mechanics. Shoot your gun, teleport around, turn off online, win. It's Dishonored for people who aren't good at Dishonored.

@@markgregory2746 it's true though. This isn't to say the game isn't fun, but it doesn't offer anything unique other than being a faster, more aggressive dishonored that relies on a non-linear world design for variation.
In that respect, it's going to appeal to a lot of people for it's rather straight- forward simplicity with an already proven-successful combat system.
The Dishonored series had it's own challenges and actually made the game harder on aggressive runs because of limited resources, morality, and enemy difficulty (prime example: Clockwork soldiers). However, most of Deathloop can be brute-forced.
Like I said, not necessarily bad, but certainly not deserving of a 10/10. UA-camr and metacritic reviews displayed that notion pretty well.
@@ryandubs7826 I wouldn't say so there is lineage from a lot of series from Arkanes bakc catalogue in this game. I've found it to be more like Outer Wilds than anything else, the combat is there to support the system.

Deathloop I think can be best described as a first-person roguelike immersive Sim with "Groundhog Day" elements. The game was never designed purposely to be an outright stealth game. Much of this games mechanics are based from Prey: Mooncrash tweaked and modified specifically for this release. Even if this game does get mixed reviews it's extremely doubtful giving arcades track record so far that this game solely by internet of itself is going to be the end of an entire studio.
But I will agree with you that the game does have a litany of technical issues that really should have been ironed out before it's released that plus the strange decision to only release it for PlayStation 5 and PC as a timed when year exclusive especially with the high specs that the PC version requires which I don't see how to PC version requires to begins with.

Deathloop sucks if you played Dishonored 1 and 2 as well as prey you'll know why. the 7 targets you have to kill don't do anything different, dishonored has 3 different paths to each area typically to take on the mission in different ways whereas here is Deathloop it's extremely linear only 1 option paths to each mission, no variety. The abilities in Deathloop are underwhelming, not many abilities at all. The different weather in the game does nothing than add different weather, if you go to a target in a winter time are they stand in the same spot, do the same things, as they would all the other weather they have in the game. The Ai is retarded in this game, dishonored 2 has some of the best Ai I ever seen in a game. The weapons are really bad, combat itself. It's a joke that this game got a 10/10 this was really a 6/10 below average game and a massive disappointment only worth 20-30 bucks.
If you played any roguelike like dead cells you noticed multiple new enemy every time you die or change from normal to hard mode but you just another brain dead fanboy 🤓🤓

sony was showing deathloop every chance it got until the game came out in almost every state of play it felt like there was at least 1 spot wasted with deathloop in it and there were a couple deep dive gameplays 2 weeks before the game launched
