Wait so, alot of your content is pointing out the scumbag choices put into modern gaming. Yet here you are promoting one of the most aggressive cash grabs in mobile gaming designed to prey on kids and people with gambling problems. I do enjoy your content and agree with most of your views but this is out of your character and I assumed you had higher standards than that.
@SKARGUT I understand the Raid disdain and its promotion by "gamers". I assume he felt he needed to more than he wanted to..
Everyone? No most of the bungie halo fans hated the level design and story of this game dude. The only people who sucked this game off were shill videos. The gameplay in this is so satisfying and polished but my god is it in a horrible world and story. If they took this gameplay, removed the upgrade bs, made handcrafted levels that all look different, and made a good story this game would be great. Also normie people on UA-cam who follow news seem to get sht confused because most of the hate that this game was getting and all the controversy was against the online which has nothing to do with the campaign. So you saying durrr look at this game now is stupid because he’s not talking about the online which all the big controversy was coming from.
@@LongBeach88I never understood why people praised the gameplay so much. All the halos have the same fucken gameplay lol. Yes it's good. But it's always been good. The reason why they gave the Hunters more health and maneuverability is because they can take damage by shooting other parts of their body, like in CE. Reduced damage, but not invulnerable.

I think the main difference between MC in Infinite and MC in the trilogy is not just how frequently that MC speaks, but also the actual words he says. I can remember almost every line from Halo CE, 2, and 3. I can't remember a single line from Infinite
I mean, the fact that Master Chief becomes pretty boring when he starts talking is pretty funny when you think about it. They should play it up. Halo Infinite Master Chief: "We're human. As a 20 year halo fanatic: is it where I would have went with Infinites story? No. Was it still a good try at fixing what happened at Halo 5? Yes. It was good enough. Does it feel like Halo? For the first time in roughly a decade. Yes.
Hell yeah man, been with the series since 2001 and playing this game was the first time since reach that I actually felt like I was playing an fps halo, halo wars 2 was great too but that spin off series always felt a little distant from the mainline story
@@EliteKnight97 Same here. Sure i would pick halo ce and halo 2 as my go to, but infinite was refreshing and a good step to the right direction. After seeing all the bs AAA release flops this year, infinite released at a very good time. It's still a bit rough around the edges, but enjoyable to play and hopefully they will take notes towards the next title or dlc. It did feel like halo again and a massive improvement from halo 5,.
I agree, it’s not easy with missing talent and people coming and leaving constantly. Hopefully the stories will get better in the next DLCs during the ten year plan (they better be free).
Yes! Halo 1-3; ODST = pure love Reach = very good; grew on me with time like a good wine Halo 4 = good Halo 5= I detested (Campaign only) Infinite for me is kinda in that original trilogy spot, while also I weirdly had a better experience with Halo 4. It's like the gameplay is on point. The writing is kinda acceptable. But still there is a huge plot hole of the happenings in between 5 and Infinite. I would have wanted to experience those events. Also at least 2 additional vehicle missions and a different surrounding for the last mission would have benefited the game so much. It feels a bit too empty. But then the "House of Reckoning" was worth it solely on its own. Reminded me of that Tower in Dragonball.
@@mclovinjr9086 Lol, shilling for either one is bad. Especially one(RAID) that promotes microtransactions even more than the other(Infinite). You being complacent with microtransactions in mobile games leads to console/pc/portal game devs to take notes on how to make money as well. Mobile games are the reason why we have horrible microtransactions today. At least in Halo Infinite you won't be hit with a fucking ad every other minute. We waited 6 years with the largest budget ever and the game is just an absolute snooze fest with 0 replayability and multiplayer is just a husk of a Halo experience, $20 for the color white is all you need to know. The story also makes no sense and is doing this whole superhero narrative

Potentially the worst part is that they made a proper Cortana model. They SHOW you a proper Cortana model. And then, you spend the game staring at bitchface self-insert extraordinaire "weapon" But we can't have real Cortana, because 343 can't write a decent character, causing them to use an existing one as their villain. Thanks 343, I hate you more now
I would like to argue that the mangler is strong enough without needing a duel wield. One shot and melee to kill is crazy scary in tight hallways. 3 shots to kill anywhere on the body is no joke either. Also, when duel wielding is introduced then you run into balance problems. Previous Halo titles had weapons you could duel wield. But what ended up happening was the weapons you could duel wield were utterly useless without duel wielding. So you would have to run around the map collect two of the same weapon just to be on even terms where you just could have collected a different single weapon to begin with. When duel wielding was introduced, they nerfed the damage of each shot of the weapons you could duel wield with for balance. So I will disagree with your opinion on that front. Another opinion on the disruptor. I can see the arguement of why use it when you could just kill faster with an AR and sidekick sometimes? For one, it's a great utility weapon to have on against vehicles to stun them. Then two, I see it almost as an opposite of a Needler. The needler I feel is an all or nothing weapon. You either get the 13 needles on an opponent to kill, or you died doing essentially nothing to their shield. While the disruptor, is very team oriented. The disruptor eats shields and in certain circumstances having the opponents shields disabled for 10 seconds can really help in games. These are just my opinions as you have yours. I might edit this later as I get through the video further. Edit 1: Anywhere a hunter is exposed through his armor is where you can damage them. If they aren't letting me get behind them, then just shoot their kneecaps until they die. Edit 2: On your music choice, this game was supposedly originally planned to be just like Breath of the Wild so that may be why they did what they did. I'm not against you on this one, just speculating why they made that choice and you compared it to the game they were gunning for. On your other opinions, I can see your point of view and I can agree with some of your others in this video Edit 3: Grammar. Also I realize I was wrong, it takes 4 body shots to kill with the Mangler. I was hitting their head with the 3rd shot without realizing it a lot.
To be honest why they didn't reintroduce duel welding is because it was difficult to balance as well as maybe having lot of glitchs and bugs that affected it which was why it never made it into ODST, and Reach and 343 must've heard about it and decided that it may have been too hard for them to work into halo 4 5 and infinite. I honestly like to see it back though using one weapon at a time might have its own advantages such as the fact that it doesn't eat up ammo too fast when it comes to the auto mags
Im under the impression bungie just overthought how to balance it in 2 & 3. 2 couldve brought back the ar for multiplayer if they were worried about dual smgs breaking balance. The plasma rifle & magnum were jokes compared to ce either way too. No reason to pick up either beyond dual wield & ammo. It's something that shouldve stayed for campaign & customs if nothing else
Dual wieldable weapons sadly were so hard nerfed, that yoi couldn't take them single wielded. At that point dual wield for those weapons wasn't a choice, but a must. Personally I think it would be best balanced if the only penalities were reduced accuracy while firing both and maybe increased recoil. Reducing damage like in halo 3 just ruins the point.
Though I would've preferred a linear campaign like the other games and a story that connected more to Halo 5 and properly concluded it, I really liked the game. The gameplay of course is fantastic, the open world was very refreshing compared to other open worlds, levels did lack variety but the combat made up for it, the gadgets were cool and the story, while having dumb moments and some characters are annoying and mediocre villains, I was interested in its new direction and a return to Halo 4 with chief being an actual 'character'. Multiplayer is fun but lacks content and has poor progression and microtransactions. Overall, Campaign 8/10, multiplayer 7/10.
You gotta remember that they are taking a break for the holidays but they will be improving the multiplayer really soon. Even the head director said he was disappointed and wanted improvements made as well as adding things for the competitive scene
People say 343 doesn't care what they say but they care way to much imo. They Completely ruined the second story arc for people because robots bad. *except when bungie made them. If one guy gets on the internet and says they don't like a race or faction or whatever they get wrote out of the story. From drones to the prometheans and soon will be the endless. It ruins the story as a whole to have to skip major plot points for a few vocal complaints.
This game is average, but better than Halo 5. 343 has yet to make a great Halo game, and they had several years to do so. Bungie made the legendary Halo 2 in 10 months time!
I guess there's too many game and not enough player overall to have a totally new IP to invest big into So every studio tries to make their ip lives the longest
You are wrong. There is nothing inherent about video games that makes their quality necessarily deteriorate. This is happening to the games industry, as well as most other things due to the nature and course of the contemporary social, political, and civilizational context that all of this is taking place in. With the games industry in particular and to be more specific, this seeming necessary downward spiral of quality is due to lower quality people being involved in development, and the prioritization of specific political agendas over quality and even profitability.
@@WordBearer48 I think something else might be at fault Graphics The more beautiful something is looking, the more close realistic looking, the more it blinds people to the quality of the game, gameplay, story Give half life 1 graphics to a ton of newer games, and the problem becomes apparent because you can only focus on the other stuff and not be blinded. It's like GOT, the Cgi, costume weapon and location where becoming more and more beautiful and of bigger scale, improving a lot But the quality of the writting decreased, yet people didn't notice because it was getting more beautiful, with season 1 "graphics" it would have been seen as shit faster by the général public
SPOILERS AHEAD! One of my biggest issues with the story was that it felt like very little was actually accomplished when it was over. Atriox and the Harbinger are still alive, the Endless are still a threat (though we never really got to see why), and the Banished are still trying to fire the ring. Looking back, some of the main story sections just felt like filler that could have easily been written out (finding the three forerunner sequences and destroying the AA guns come to mind). Heck, when you kill discount Atriox, he even says that his death, one of the game's major objectives, changes basically nothing. Overall, it felt more like a prologue to future DLC/sequels than a standalone narrative. Edit: I get that Infinite was setting up for future installments and that not all of its conflicts would be resolved. However, I believe that there needed to be some kind of substantial victories to make it feel worthwhile. Combat Evolved's ending was satisfying because, despite not ending the war, the player had stopped the Covenant from firing Halo, destroyed an entire Covenant fleet, and prevented the Flood from escaping the ring and learning the location of earth. Even Reach, which had by far the bleakest narrative in the series, ended with a monologue assuring the player that their sacrifice had ensured humanity's survival. Halo Infinite, on the other hand, feels like Combat Evolved if it had ended after Assault on the Control Room; there's just no real payoff for anything the player does. If I finish a game without having any significant impact on its narrative, it just feels like a slap in the face, like I wasted my time and money, and it certainly doesn't make me excited for what happens next. I'm happy for those who enjoyed the story, and I'm not trying to tell them they're wrong for doing so; I just wanted to offer my perspective on the matter. Also, as a few people have pointed out, the Harbinger is actually dead. I thought she teleported away at the end of the fight, but I was thinking of the cutscene where she met Chief for the first time. However, the legendary ending seems to suggest that Atriox is going to bring the Endless back without her anyway, so even this victory is immediately taken away from the player.
Yeah the story felt unfinished. They're trying to keep the campaign alive for 10 years via dlc and expansions so it's understandable, also considering they only really had 2 years for development, but I would've much preferred them to just finish off the story and then further expand it in the dlc. Tbh Escharum was literally the embodiment of "Finally! A worthy opponent! Our battle will be legendary!". He was ill and didn't want to die of sickness. He just wanted to die respectfully. Hence why he felt invigorated when he got to know about Chief.
Yeah, this guy is pretty pessimistic and ungrateful of 343's greatest efforts on the campaign. This dude is not really into story value and I'm glad the game isn't catered to him since his expectations are unrealistic and just bad-mouthing it for no good and or logical reasons at all. I disagree. Its not the greatest game ever made , thats true. But its good, and i think we should not expect dev to make every game a masterpiece. Also, its the first time 343 gets what made Halo what it was.The game was in dev hell for years, and its still good. I think we should be very happy about that. And you say yourself the gameplay is at its core possibly the best between all the games. For dual wielding ,while i get we all want it back, but 343 are not the one who removed it. The story isn't as bad as you say. The pilot is kinda annoying, but he is not even a soldier of course he is gonna want to get the hell out of there. Bungie didn't make Chief character. But FYI They are not the dev anymore. 343 want to make him a character, and its fine, and i think a good thing. The banished fucked up the UNSC because the UNSC was in a civial war with their own AI, wich basically controlleda good chunk of its power. And then the fucking Harbinger. ITS IS SAID IN THE FUCKING GAME. SHE IS ONE OF A RACE OF ALIEN THAT THE FORERUNNER EMPRISONED BECAUSE THEY WERE IMMUNE TO THE RINGS EFFECT. ITS IS IN THE GAME FOR GOD SAKE.AND THE GAME LITTERALLY SHOWS YOU CORTANA, THE CREATION OF HUMANITY, DESTROY THE BRUTES HOMEWORLD. WHAT DO YOU THINK ATRIOX MOTIVATION ARE?!?! Also you can't retcon a whole game, it would just make even more plothole. Also Leonidas isnt a dude its an AI. There is nowhere where its said Chief is the last spartan. Its more plausible a lot of them are dead but not all of them.
To add to your point I didn’t expect them to make great level designs, it’s their first time making a true sandbox focused game (their previous games centered around abilities) and it takes talent and experience to create a masterpiece. All the dead Spartans were Spartan IVs (you could tell because they had last names) and are at least a thousand more scattered (multiplayer). There are surviving IIs and IIIs who are superior do to being augmented, trained and real combat experience as children, weren’t even stationed on Infinity. Even the original games created the illusion of him being the last Spartan when he really wasn’t with the exception of Halo CE (when all Spartans were MIA during the battle of Reach).

Echo is not annoying; he is neither an ODST nor a Spartan. Heck, he hasn't even used a weapon before. The guy is not marine and is just a pilot who escaped. I would find it annoying if he was already accustomed to the situation and, more stoic about it, would seem unnatural. I think your viewpoint at the end seems VERY traditionalist, by which you restrict yourself from exploring new characters. The weapon struck me differently than Cortana; she is more optimistic, more witty, funny, and interactive. Also why the heck would we want Chief to be a shell for us to play? Co-op games already do that. Mutliplayer games already do that. Fallout already had done that and many games which allow you to customize your character, even during Bungie the Chief started to talk, consider Halo 3 and in addition Halo Reach and ODST which explored emotional relationships and were a success which I bet you would applaud, so why should Chief not be allowed to express his emotions whilst other Spartans can? Those are some of the points you have raised, which I respectfully disagree with.

@@Ossory88 honestly I think infinite should only have one weapon to duel wield with THE ENERGY SWORD. Because why not? Could be a Easter egg in the campaign
One thing that kept bugging me, and this is more of a petty thing, was how damned smug the Banished are. From what we see in gameplay, they're not as disciplined or widespread as the Covenant, but almost every single Banished enemy keeps yappering on about how they're better than Chief and how they're gonna break him, humiliate him etc. "The Covenant? Demon. The Banished? Prey." Yeah, what do you have to back it up that isn't just what the Covenant did? Christ.
I mean they beat chief and the unsc and Cortana within like a hour and we're basically just playing with there food I mean for fucks sake the four minutes it took to take down the infinity was also when chief got dicked down by atriox their leader. Not only that it's explained in Halo wars 2 that they were on the covenant's radar and never got close to beating them ever yet they almost beat the unsc. Like come buddy you'd be overconfident too.
Atriox beat the chief and took him out of the fight for 6 months. Of course they're gonna be cocky because not even the covenant could do that. So many of the criticisms for this game seem just petty or they just didn't understand the story which is baffling because it's really easy to understand.
Let me reiterate a small bit, but thank you guys for explaining your own thoughts politely. It's been a while since I played Infinite so opinions may have changed. I think what I was trying to get at in this comment was that I was bugged at how the Banished never seemed to change their attitude in the narrative, no matter how much destruction Chief was causing on the Ring. To me at least, it felt like the actual journey to get to where we leave Chief off on is stale because nothing really seems to change other than some small dialogue from the Banished mooks? Though again, like I said, it's more of a petty thing. It really doesn't matter in the end but it is an afterthought.

Halo 1-3, ODST, Reach are a massive part of my life, quite liked the Wars series - Didn’t like 4, don’t remember a single thing about Halo 5. I loved Halo Infinite though (at least the first play through), only played a couple of multiplayer games (which I thought was a return to form) - but that’s my 10 cents worth anyway…
343 has nowhere near the level of writing quality Bungie had. And I can’t help but laugh at how they want you to think Atriox is a big deal, yet they’ve given him not enough exposure in the games themselves to be taken seriously. He’s just a monster of the week that is tossed out within 5 minutes like the Ur-Didact and Jul M’dama was. And I’m not motivated to read supplementary books and comics to learn more because 343 treats it like homework (which ironically is the same mistake Bungie made with Destiny, I don’t care about learning anything because you gave me no reason to be invested).
I quite enjoyed the campaign, but there are definitely issues. I much prefer big linear levels to an open world. And the villains were nothing short of boring. By the end -- where whatever it is that's much worse than the flood didn't even make a cameo appearance -- I felt like I'd played a very long prologue. For my money the franchise really needs fresh eyes and some fresh ideas.
@@mayonnaise3959 I disagree. Halo was a lot like the Sniper Elite games, yes the levels are big and you can mess around in them, but there is a definitive beginning and end. Infinite is way too much like Far Cry. Capture this, find that, kill this target, occasionally we'll throw in some story. I don't know about you, but hunting around for 150 collectables isn't my idea of fun. Far Halo? just no. I want a nice tight story and a campaign that reflects that.
Well considering how many scenes from the trailers were missing in the game and the legendary ending post credit scene one can safely assume there’s going to be future work. And as said from the beginning 343 wants Infinite to be 10 years. If your issue is collecting stuff than don’t do them. You have the traditional story telling.
My biggest gripe with Halo storytelling nowadays is not that it's outright bad. It's that it has so much potential to be good. They want to pull from the rich ancient history of the halo universe, but don't want to explain it to the general audience or most normal halo fans. The stories about the Forerunners is great. Just don't be afraid to explore it in game. I'm not talking terminals. Have like a mission where you explore a large library like place and get a lore dump. Or since they're going semi open world. If they're not going to directly involve these elements have a mission take place where you go visit a data center or something and as you play more of the game, the more data is revealed or unlocked. I don't know, there isn't anything wrong with wanting to use the lore, hell the ancient history of the halo universe is the most interesting part to me. If 343 are smart, The Endless will turn out to be the last remaining Precursors that went into hiding or were locked away since the Precursors are more dangerous and powerful than the Flood as they basically are what became the Flood. 343 just needs to quit being scared to use these elements or tell these stories to the general fanbase and general gaming audience. If they want to use these elements as the story, then use them, but explain them in game, not a 3 300 page book trilogy.
The reason why the story-telling is bad is because Halo has been done to death. Halo 1, 2, and 3 were the best, but sadly those days are very much behind us now. I really think Halo just needs to stop now...
They already messed it up when they dropped the obvious plot point of the Forerunners being ancient humans. Ever since then the themes have been falling apart because obviously they would.
A lore heavy, horror like halo game. That is really creepy, is what fans want. That is really what halo began as. You all alone on a mysterious world. With a handful of marines. Fighting unknown species. It was scary, but fun. Many moments of creepiness were in the first halo.
"The stories about the Forerunners is great. Just don't be afraid to explore it in game." I'd rather they didn't, tbh. All the new stuff suffers heavily from this obsession with writing backwards - with constantly delving into the ever-growing bulk of retconned backstory, instead of moving forwards. In the original games, the forerunner stuff was supposed to be like the alien stuff in The Expanse - remnants of a dead civilization, with clues and mysteries, and most questions left unanswered. It's a backdrop. Set dressing. The actual core of Halo was a war story; it may drag in the space opera elements, but fundamentally it's about a soldier doing his job, and trying to keep his fellow soldiers alive. There are many, many stories that could have been told like this - ODST and Reach demonstrated the potential. Pick any place in the war, any group of soldiers, whether Spartan or regular human, or even Covenant; pick a world... and tell a war story. You can throw in some space magic to spice things up if you like; throw in the flood if you want some horror aspects. But fundamentally, Halo worked best when it was a war story. The original game didn't vomit exposition; it hand-waved most of its sci-fi elements, and the lore always took a back seat to the immediate situation - the Flood are a perfect example of this. When you first encounter the Flood, you receive ZERO information on why they're there, why they exist, what their purpose is... hints are dropped, casual comments are made by the likes of Guilty Spark, but you're mainly concerned with the immediate threat they represent and how to deal with it. Because you're a soldier, and it's not your job to learn the ancient history of the galaxy; it's your job to protect mankind.
From what I heard, 2/3 of content has been lost or Halo Infinite is meant to be a base thing with a buncha dlcs, like don't get me wrong, it's better than 4 and 5 for sure, but they need to get their act together. The campaign priced at $60 and it shouldn't be sold at that price considering the content in the campaign that's still missing and is 'coming soon', this game apparently still needs more work, like what's 343i smoking?
I have a feeling were basically paying $60 for future expansions and if they try to make us pay the community will throw a tantrum and we'll get them for free so I'm basically waiting for the next chapter.
@@staple_boiI guess time will tell for sure, I just hope they wont pull the plug prematurely and the game gets better over time, but $60 upfront is sus
Just beat it a few hours ago. I really liked the open world aspect, at first, but it got very “Farcry-ish” really quickly. I didn’t hate the game by any means, but it’s up there with Halo 4 as far as Halo games that I don’t care to play again, while having bet Reach - 3 multiple times.
Having replayed reach recently the story full of holes and contrivances. Halo 2 and 3 are probably the only 2 halo games that really have a good story, and they were supposed to be 1 game
Fun fact: When you go to the open world for the first time, grapple hook to one of those huge turrets, and you’ll notice an equip option appear. Equip and you obtain the Scorpion Shell. You’ve just beaten the game. Don’t come at me like it’s an easter egg, there’s no way that it is.
@@ihbupontyne Because it breaks the game. Why would you want 343 to blatantly ignore this “easter egg” when it breaks the game and is most likely going to be abused in the campaign? That makes no sense. You can literally one shot certain bosses with this weapon.
The incoherent story is just the result of 343 having a panic attack trying to get rid of any plot involving the forerunners and Locke. I have no issue with the humanization and increased dialogue for Chief. We're kind of past the era of silent protagonists, we need something more to keep a story compelling. If you don't care for the Chief, Cortana/Weapon, Pilot dynamic, then this story isn't for you. The Banished plotline is *fine* but needed a lot more space to develop.
The result of Microsoft hiring and letting go hundreds of contractors* More contractors worked on infinite than actual devs on the team, then about 2-3 years ago they heavily gutted everything and rebuilt it from the ground up, without all those contractors many of whom probably better knew how to work on the shit they made while they were there than the actual 343 employees did. It's a clusterfuck because of (and this is a real big shocker here I know)greed, and stupidity of the higher up devs. Thank god they quit, they're the ones that ruined halo 4 and 5. I wish this greed and arrogance didn't permeate everything these days, all the shit we grew up on is being ruined for profit or politics.
That doesn’t make sense when the character was literally designed to be a mostly silent protagonist and everything about his history and life makes sense for him to be. 343 thinks shoehorning in emotion is just automatically a good thing when it totally clashes with the gameplay and tone of everything else going on
I liked your video and you made some solid points. I do disagree with how the map of it is as the story basically says why we cannot go to other parts of the ring as well as all the structures we see. We're trapped on the ring, surrounded by Forrunner arcitecture, and we have pretty much lost the fight from the get go. Our goal should be and is to disrupt the Banished (cannot beat them at this point even with the Chief as we're too scattered and broken) and rebuild the UNSC. The bosses I also disagree with as well as their weapons. You're alone with pretty much no backup and are hunted consistently by the enemy's best, cannot make it easy or people will get turned off and make/plan strategies to fight them. Best for them to just surprise you and improvise along the way, adds to the fluent movement of combat and survival. All in all I think 343 knocked it out of the park with the game. It's Halo but new, and as a Halo fan from day one this game is literally keeping me on my toes as I try and beat a very powerful assortment of enemies. We need to give 343 a chance and stop comparing it to Bungie's Halo.
"We shouldn't compare this to Bungie Halo" Dude when I'm given excellence and someone offers me mediocrity wearing the face of that past excellence I'm completely allowed to judge them based on the standards set by their fore bearers. Piss off.
@SAMMY I've played halo for maybe 20 years soon. The game was lackluster 343 said themselves that 2/3rds of the game is cut content. They had to take shortcuts to sew the game together it clearly wasn't ready. remember we are paying 60 dollars for a game that can be completed in 30 mins roughly and all the skips was found in no time. They could defenentaly have improved the game a lot! i hope we are going to see this in future dlc's. I think the reason this guy is attacking the game so much is because so much was promised for the game and we have waited for so long and when it finally releases its not very good for the years we have waited.
They nailed combat with the AI weapons and core mechanics imo, but you're right about the open world bs. They could have at least given us some different biomes. I don't know who's bright idea it was to make everything take place in one environment
The only thing this game nailed was the actual Gameplay. It was Hella fun to play so fastpaced in a halo game. However, Story and characters aren't good in my opinion. And also, i gotta agree on the level design. While i personally loved the mountain forest scenery, there's definitely a lack of other bioms, such as snowy or deserts. But worst of it all, you're so right about the copy and paste mission levels. It already felt repetitive after the 2nd time. 343 just doesn't seem to be able to nail the atmosphere like Bungie did. The Multiplayer is free, cool, it runs stable for the most part, also cool. The thick skill based matchmaking, not at all enough content, progression and MTX are terrible. Shame, Halo could've killed Battlefield and cod this year, due to those being absolute trash, but Infinite maybe is a 7/10 in the big scheme of things.
@Wolf Meme I'd give the campaign a 7,5/10 for 100% it once. But the Multiplayer gets more frustrating from day to day. I'm sick of sbmm of this generation's games. Sweating for absolutely nothing except a mediocre ranked design, and no ranks in public at all. It's a shame.
Sorry to hear it disappointed you man, no this is not on par with halo 1-3... but it’s a step in the right direction you realistically can’t expect 343 to go from making halo 5 to halo 3 yno. They need to learn through experience
Halo 3 is so fucking overrated. This is coming from a guy who grew up and loves the Bungie trilogy, but gameplay and story wise, Halo Infinite is better. I know nostalgia will make other people think otherwise, but I wouldn’t even say its the best from the Bungie games. Halo 2 had a way better story (Halo 3 fucked up Truth) and Halo CE’s campaign is the best. Gameplay wise, I’ll take Halo 2A and Halo Infinite over 3 any day where you walk at brisk pace and everything feels floaty.
@@mayorofbagtown9097 If Halo Infinite was a blatant cash grab then the game would be bad. It is not bad. However, the F2P model has definitely held the game back from its full potential and is yet another mediocre release. Unfortunately, its the nature of AAA games nowadays. I don’t blame the devs because it clear they are passionate about Halo and wanted to rectify mistakes with Halo 5, but clearly the execs in charge only care about money. In a year or two, Halo Infinite will be on par with content in older games, which is a shame.
@@tiger_lord305 eh i enjoyed halo 3's campaign way more than infinite's personally , but i do feel campaign wise its a big step in the right direction ,but the f2p model is actually hot garbage , the restriction and pricing is unreal
Yet another linear franchise goes open world. God, how much I hate this trend. I've never been a fan of open world games and after more than a decade worth of them, I just started hating the genre as a whole. I miss games with tightly focused and well crafted levels. I miss visiting unique locations instead of having to explore barren wastelands.
I think the sandbox approach to classic Halo levels from the Bungie Halo games was just fine. Going open world does not make Halo Infinite stand out. Just feels like a desperate attempt to chase trends. So is putting grappling hooks in every damn game now.
It's not even really open world because the missions require you to skip out all the garbage in between and just drive to other destinations. All the enemies you encounter get in the way, without adding anything to the game. And you can blatantly notice enemies magically spawning in front of you. You're not meant to be able to see enemies spawn, you should think they were already there in the world.
Really interesting how youtubers will make 30 minute videos about how video games suck now because of the companies being greedy but they’ll accept a raid sponsorship with a smile on their face. Maybe if you’re gonna act all high and mighty and criticise people for something you should first make sure you’re not part of the problem.
I think for the levels in the future 343 needs to do either have: An open world that opens as classic kind of more linear levels are completed with way more variety. It can be open linear levels like Halo 3 it's just that Halo 2 linear hallway levels can't carry an entire game. And to give players a reason to reexplore old areas in the open world. Or every level is large but aren't connected in an open world like the 3 AA canon missions.
My biggest issue was the fact that "cortana" was all, we gotta stop them, we gotta kill them before it's too late. The banished or the harbinger never actually state what their mission is. They're just there for no reason and a new enemy faction just appears and you're supposed to know their deal (i didn't read any books, watch any movies or any of that BS 343 requires you to do before you start the game.)
Well 343 making a better game than vanguard and 2042 isnt saying much. Those games are horrible, hell Id say almost every 2020/2021 game has been terrible.
@@TheBlackAztec3 lol exactly. also battlefield has made much more progress towards fixing itself than infinite. like, miles and miles ahead. still not completely there, obviously, but holy shit 343 needs to pick up the pace if they want anyone thats not fanboying/completely uncaring to stay.
Man, this comment section loves to shit bricks and exaggerate like crazy. "Game's MP is fun, the gunplay is solid, the open world is alright, the grappling hook is fun, but the levels are uninspired and the story sucks, so I'm not sure it's worth paying full price" is getting responses like "What an extreme take! Why do you hate this game and everything good in this world?! Did 343 murder your family?" When someone's review is very middle of the road, you know that anyone calling them sellouts or blind haters are the ones who are either sellouts or blind haters, because they're ignoring the half or more of the review that doesn't support that accusation.
The Forward Operating Bases all being identical was one of my biggest gripes about this game. Each one should have had a large outpost built around the main platform where you spawn weapons and vehicles. Like the safehouses within the outposts in Far Cry 3 and 4. If they were gonna copy Far Cry they could have at least did it well.
Dude imagine if Halo infinite was more like Metro Exodus. - 3 weapons (2 standard and one power weapon) -semi open worlds with different biomes -interesting story from start to finish -some more in depth side missions that unlock gadgets that you could completely miss while playing -“hub” missions between open worlds where you can sort of chill out and get to know the characters more before continuing
@Ligma idk with the small amount of ammo for most guns I kept ending up having a sniper and a BR for most of the time. I had to sacrifice another power weapon or a standard gun for a melee and it sucked
People's only argument is that he wanted money from an ad, yet ignore the mediocrity of Halo. This game is dead and the IP needs to change hands. 343i has been a trash tier developer for a decade.
If Halo: Infinite weren’t Halo, but a Halo clone with a fun twist in the same vein as Splitgate, people would be jizzing themselves over how fun it is and how well it captures the Halo magic yet how much better it is with the new gameplay mechanic. Halo just got a little too big for its britches. It’s a big franchise with a big legacy, and I don’t think any game going forward will ever be more than, “Yeah, it’s actually pretty good. But I don’t think it’s great.” At least, not without scrapping most of the formula and reinventing the series like Assassin’s Creed did. If you look at it on its own, without trying to compare it to the whole franchise viewed with rosy tinted glasses, it’s a ton of fun, and the grappling hook is one of the best things to come to a game like this. Maybe not quite as innovative as putting a Portal gun into Halo, but still high up there. Halo isn’t a game to be taken seriously. It’s a game starring a gravelly-voiced space marine wearing a paintball helmet, with a naked hologram girl implanted in his head, running around shooting up space gorillas, holy Xenomorphs, and whiney little space gremlins on a ring-shaped planet. Sometimes there are also ancient fungal parasite monsters from a different galaxy to fight. Sometimes flaming skeleton robots. Sometimes flappy faced old crone aliens with a weird beak thingy on their face. The story just barely makes sense. Who cares? Do you really need any more than a Halo ring and Master Chief?
see, this, i can agree, and also disagree with. i enjoyed the story before 343 shoved it up their asses, but i can agree that if you just want to have a wacky sci-fi shooter, halo fits the bill lol. if you wanna ignore the story, for the gameplay, all the power to you. sucks for people like me who enjoy stories written better than edgelord 13 yo writing fanfic, but thats my issue lol. have you tried using the disruptor variant to shoot next to a chopper, hopping in and hitting the gas, to launch yourself flying? first thing i did when i got that variant.
For once I like the gameplay in a 343 game. But tbh I wish they went all in with the lore again. Bungie created all this lore during the original trilogy with the books and never used it. I was so happy during the first master chief mission in halo 5 because his squad from the books were finally in the games for once.
Everything this dude says about the story specifically complaining that the chief has a personality proves he's never been in the military. He may be a soldier but he's not a robot and there's nothing wrong with him having character. That's really ridiculous, also what is this fad of claiming game developers aren't "competent" if you really thought that you'd be making games rather than talking shit about them. It's rude and inconsiderate to what developers have to go through just so you can play your precious Halo game.
Bro he’s literally a genetically engineered super soldier raised on a planet where everyone else he knew was in the military. This isn’t a real life soldier, he might as well be a robot. 343 thinks that emotional automatically equals good, it doesn’t. And I don’t give af what AAA devs backed by Microsoft “go through” bro. It’s their job. They were handed a billion dollar franchise on a silver platter and have screwed it up for a decade straight now.
I may be in the minority here but, I think Chief had too little character. While I think Bungie did a great job with the "husk" chief in the original games, I think 343 also did a great job showing us a different side of chief but still showing his heroic and badass self. I liked cheif in infinite, especially his one liners and his dynamic with Weapon but we only really get a few lines really delving into his character. Something which I hope they continue doing rather than sucking up to people wanting the same damn thing. Now, game developers, at least some of them are incompetent, but its also the corprate work enviorment as well as other incompetent sections of developement either from previous games, such as halo 5, or other sectors such as who ever came up with the prices for the store and the progresstion system. I have always given 343 the benefit of the doubt, and I still think its valid to do so to a certain extent (Halo 5's story was awful). However, I think for the first time in a while, 343 has what they need now to build a proper sequel to this great series. They have a gameplay down, the story needs work, but I think the next game can actually be a classic. It all depends on them. They fucked up, they got hate which they deserved and didn't deserve, but now is their time to prove that they can handle the new mantle of responisbility of creating halo games again.
He was literally designed that way. That is his character. If you want a soft emotional chief who marries his AI then I suggest you go back and play the originals. And see what the games really about. It’s military. No BS. Not fantasy with unnecessary drama.
You’re not playing a regular marine. Chief was made to have little character so it’s easier for more types of people to connect. Though I personally don’t mind Chief having a little more character than he did in Bungie games
I respectfully disagree with you saying about Echo 216. In the story Echo 216 says that he signed up to fight because he just wanted to help. He runs away because he realizes that with Master chief “dead” that he won’t be able to beat them. He isn’t a Marine who can handle war,He is just some guy. If I was in his shoes,I would have done the same thing. He gets mad at Master chief because Master chief just keeps fighting not realizing at the moment that this is just some guy who isn’t ready for something like this. Just my opinion.
Synthetic man: “Like most of my videos I’m going to Start with gameplay” Me: “like most of his videos he’s going to be negative for no fucking reason like I am with literally every single game I review and call everything woke shit”

I'm NOT a fanboy by any stretch, I've actually shit on almost every game released the last 5-6 years. With this said I do believe halo infinite is the best halo because it's basically old school halo with better and faster features, better gunplay and a grapple make it really fun. New cortana is annoying as hell but I can deal with it since the game is good. I actually always hated fighting the flood so I'm glad they gone, plus I actually never liked dual wielding so that's great they never put it in. To anyone that has a problem fighting the "spongy enemies" I would tell u to git Gud, and maybe use the things that the game gives you to combat these problems. I never got bored playing the campaign. My only problem is that the multiplayer is boring, it just doesnt capture the old school halo feel to me and that would be my biggest complaint, it needs way more modes and maps, it also needs a team slayer ranked mode. I do agree that the pilot and Cortana are both annoying as hell, so I will give u that. I actually loved the soundtrack of the game and glad they didnt go with a BF style soundtrack where they murder the old soundtrack.

Infinite for me is kinda in that original trilogy spot, while also I weirdly had a better experience with Halo 4.

On your other opinions, I can see your point of view and I can agree with some of your others in this video
Edit 3: Grammar. Also I realize I was wrong, it takes 4 body shots to kill with the Mangler. I was hitting their head with the 3rd shot without realizing it a lot.

This is some good raid shadow legends content

Combat Evolved's ending was
satisfying because, despite not ending the war, the player had stopped the Covenant from firing Halo, destroyed an entire Covenant fleet, and prevented the Flood from escaping the ring and learning the location of earth. Even Reach, which had by far the bleakest
narrative in the series, ended with a monologue assuring the player that their sacrifice had ensured humanity's survival.
I'm happy for those
who enjoyed the story, and I'm not trying to tell them they're wrong for doing so; I just wanted to offer my perspective on the matter.
Also, as a few people have pointed out, the Harbinger is actually dead. I thought she teleported away at the end of the fight,
but I was thinking of the cutscene where she met Chief for the first time. However, the legendary ending seems to suggest that Atriox is going to bring the Endless back without her anyway, so even this victory is immediately taken away from the player.
Agreed. I was actually surprised when I realized I was about to finish the story. Really feels like a part one.

Yeah the story felt unfinished. They're trying to keep the campaign alive for 10 years via dlc and expansions so it's understandable, also considering they only really had 2 years for development, but I would've much preferred them to just finish off the story and then further expand it in the dlc. Everything after Reach is fan fiction. And your a fanboy who needs Halo no matter how shitty it is
To add to your point I didn’t expect them to make great level designs, it’s their first time making a true sandbox focused game (their previous games centered around abilities) and it takes talent and experience to create a masterpiece.
All the dead Spartans were Spartan IVs (you could tell because they had last names) and are at least a thousand more scattered (multiplayer). There are surviving IIs and IIIs who are superior do to being augmented, trained and real combat experience as children, weren’t even stationed on Infinity.

Prey."
Yeah, what do you have to back it up that isn't just what the Covenant did?
Tbf they literally destroyed the UNSC, Cortana, the master chief himself. They have all the confidence in the worls

@@mayonnaise3959
I disagree.
There is a flood Easter egg
So flood do exist

I'd rather they didn't, tbh.
I didn’t hate the game by any means, but it’s up there with Halo 4 as far as Halo games that I don’t care to play again, while having bet Reach - 3 multiple times.
ive played every far cry and it doesnt feel "Farcry-ish" at all.
Having replayed reach recently the story full of holes and contrivances. Halo 2 and 3 are probably the only 2 halo games that really have a good story, and they were supposed to be 1 game

@@ihbupontyne Because it breaks the game. Why would you want 343 to blatantly ignore this “easter egg” when it breaks the game and is most likely going to be abused in the campaign? That makes no sense. You can literally one shot certain bosses with this weapon.
U make no sense gaylo fan
The incoherent story is just the result of 343 having a panic attack trying to get rid of any plot involving the forerunners and Locke. I have no issue with the humanization and increased dialogue for Chief. We're kind of past the era of silent protagonists, we need something more to keep a story compelling. If you don't care for the Chief, Cortana/Weapon, Pilot dynamic, then this story isn't for you. The Banished plotline is *fine* but needed a lot more space to develop.
The result of Microsoft hiring and letting go hundreds of contractors*
More contractors worked on infinite than actual devs on the team, then about 2-3 years ago they heavily gutted everything and rebuilt it from the ground up, without all those contractors many of whom probably better knew how to work on the shit they made while they were there than the actual 343 employees did.
343 thinks shoehorning in emotion is just automatically a good thing when it totally clashes with the gameplay and tone of everything else going on
@@TrueGamer22887 chief cracked jokes constantly in the original trilogy, he just rarely spoke during gameplay outside of scripted shit.

For how much you complain about modern gaming and modern gamers you shilled for raid....unsubbed.
Lmao, how many chances are you willing to give and expect others to give? They’ve been consistently failing since Halo 4.
@SAMMY He named stuff he liked in the video though and have credit where it was due. Seems like Halo Infinite fanboys just want to say whatever.

Ffs not another raid shadow legends ad 🙄
I thought it was going to be le subverterino 😂 like "just kidding, fuck Shadow Legends"
Halo ce alone had an island, plains, snow, desert and a swamp.
@Wolf Meme I'd give the campaign a 7,5/10 for 100% it once.
But the Multiplayer gets more frustrating from day to day. I'm sick of sbmm of this generation's games. Sweating for absolutely nothing except a mediocre ranked design, and no ranks in public at all. It's a shame.
Eschalumn was excellent what u mean?
it your fault to expect 343 to make the game that bungie used to make.
Craig is disappointed
Sorry to hear it disappointed you man, no this is not on par with halo 1-3... but it’s a step in the right direction you realistically can’t expect 343 to go from making halo 5 to halo 3 yno. They need to learn through experience
I figure their work on the MCC was enough experience to make something better than this. Infinite is a blatant commercial cash grab and 343 knows it.

This isn’t Ubisoft’s open world and quite a few highly-critical reviews found the campaign good.

Raid isnt a game built on plot and story telling. Not even remotely connected.
@@Dero_milsurp it literally says it has a good story in the ad's I see, what are you talking about.

I think for the levels in the future 343 needs to do either have:
An open world that opens as classic kind of more linear levels are completed with way more variety.
They're just there for no reason and a new enemy faction just appears and you're supposed to know their deal
(i didn't read any books, watch any movies or any of that BS 343 requires you to do before you start the game.)
I agree. Granted its still the best of 3, if we looking at COD and Battlefield. Sucks cause I loved BF1
Well 343 making a better game than vanguard and 2042 isnt saying much. Those games are horrible, hell Id say almost every 2020/2021 game has been terrible.

Why do you hate this game and everything good in this world?! Did 343 murder your family?" The Forward Operating Bases all being identical was one of my biggest gripes about this game. Each one should have had a large outpost built around the main platform where you spawn weapons and vehicles. Like the safehouses within the outposts in Far Cry 3 and 4. If they were gonna copy Far Cry they could have at least did it well.
I gatta disagree on your sentiments about the weapon, I like her to each their own though.
Dude imagine if Halo infinite was more like Metro Exodus.
- 3 weapons (2 standard and one power weapon)
-semi open worlds with different biomes
-interesting story from start to finish
-some more in depth side missions that unlock gadgets that you could completely miss while playing
-“hub” missions between open worlds where you can sort of chill out and get to know the characters more before continuing

As a newcomer to the series, I agree with this.
Man how i wish we could still see the dislikes
Use return dislike on chrome
It's funny because he probablly says locke is bad for not having a charater
Damn. First time ever seeing this channel. Saw raid shadow legends and stopped taking it seriously.
well thats a fail on your part. "argument is invalid because of something completely unrelated".
@Spiral lol no, they aren't. is it hypocritical? totally. doesn't effect his points in the slightest.

Calls u a fanboy in beginning while shilling for esports and a phone app game lol. I'm not hating, gotta make your money somehow.
