Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on UA-cam, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on UA-cam. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on UA-cam, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.

Hate is especially powerful when when its government sanctioned. I was a kid when this song came out in 1968. MLK was killed in April, the song came out shortly after, and then RFK was killed in June and the last verse was added. Even for a kid, it's hard when your heroes keep getting m*rdered. 1968 was a terribly violent year and full of despair, crushed hopes and dreams, and bloodshed - but I do wonder whether we are in for even darker times ahead.

I remember when JFK was assassinated, I was in school and they announced it on the PA and sent us home. My parents were conservative republicans who didn't care for him but they were in absolute shock and deeply saddened. Everybody was. The same with Bobby and MLK. It was an insane year. Bobby would have won the presidency and reopened the case of his brother's murder so the dark powers decided that he had to go. MLK began to link the civil rights movement with the antiwar movement and that would have created an unstoppable force. They wouldn't let that happen. There are some very powerful and evil forces in our country, lurking in the shadows

I need to decline to go because he couldn’t afford it. There’s a UA-cam video of him telling the story himself.. he also adapted this song, and sang it at the Grammys, in honor of all the musicians who have passed away, replacing the traditional names with the music artist’s

We were devastated at these murders . I remember the teachers ,parent crying for ages , many people had photos of these men in their homes ,right next to Jesus in some homes . We thought we were going into a bright new world, of progress and beauty, we were going to lead the world but instead the hateful won and we have the society we do. The young can’t know the pain many of us still feel from these losses.

Such a sad, beautiful song released just a few months after Bobby Kennedy's murder. I was not quite 13, and the first time I heard it, it brought me to tears. In those times stereo records were mastered in 2 or 4 tracks, meaning post-production mixing was not very complicated and a single song could go from studio to music store in a few months or even weeks in some cases. So people were hearing "Abraham, Martin and John" on their radios and record players less than six months after RFK's assassination, making the last verse even more emotional. Thanks, Shawn, this song still makes me teary-eyed 56 years later.

I was in 8th grade when President John Kennedy was assassinated on November 22,1963. Less than 5 years later Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated on April 3,1968 and just 2 months after that on June 5,1968 Robert Kennedy, brother of John, was assassinated while running for president. When I went to bed late that night Bobbie was still alive and I prayed he would survive but woke in the morning to learn that he died during the night. Three giants of the fight for civil rights were brutally taken from us in four and one half years. All these decades later this song still brings me to tears every time I hear it.

3 great men, cut down in their prime. I'm of that generation, in my early twenties when Bobby and Martin Luther King was killed, almost too much to comprehend, just 5 years after the Kennedy assassination. We became in the words of Tom Hayden "a generation of what might have been". All these years later the hurt is still there.

So sad that today, one of these men is almost a pariah in part of the country, two are disliked by half the population and while one is still generally admired, the biggest accomplishment of his life is portrayed as at best unnecessary. I think these men were more idolized 30 years ago than today.
