The way they complement each other’s fighting styles is actually really impressive. The elites are faster, more resilient and carry energy weapons so they charge forward, tank damage, and take down shields while the Marines stay back and lay down fire with their longer range ballistic weapons.
Kinda like how we as the Master Chief are in the frontline, tanking damage while the marines back us up.

@@SomeKindaSpy The only way Humans would have joined is if some Outer Colonies that hate the UNSC felt the Covenant would be better and just defected, otherwise the UNSC would go only as far as an alliance, never servitude tot he Covenant, this would cause tension if not immediate war as the Covenant don't usually take too kindly to resistance, either you join and serve, or you die. Even if they kept peace, once the truth of the Halos is discovered and if there's time, the UNSC would try and convince the Covenant of the truth, they might not believe and see the Humans as heretics, thus war starts, or the Humans start the war trying to prevent the Halos from activating, either way I think the 2 sides were bound for war anyway.
@@TheZamaron if they went down that route then the UNSC would be prepared for war and would have knowledge on how the Covenant are led and how they fight and their strength.

@Faceless King well you have to remember the war on Sanghelios and the created uprising as far as i know i think it was only the unsc infinite at the ring and it's frigates it carrie's in its bays

The one thing I don't understand is why any human in the Halo universe would want to fight besides one of the species that was actively hunting them to the point of annihilation. Makes no sense to me.
@@cephydash1533 i mean the elites were betrayed by the prophets and became enemies to them and the enemy of my enemy is my friend kinda deal but oni didn't want them being to powerful so they did attack sos ships and stuff and made it look like jackal ships

Actually they did design them to talk to eachother anyway, but since their lines are not meant for eachother, I think they are just scripted to reply in a line that it's meant for
It's just the way dialogue is designed, one NPC will have some situational bark and another will have a response bark to that, whether it's the different Banished species or the Marines amongst themselves, but because the game thinks they're allies in this it had them talk to each other.

@@asneakychicken322 Not just that, but Marines and Banished will trashtalk each other in combat as well. It's rarer to see as generally everyone on one side will wind up dead in a short order before any lines are heard.
Like one Marine snapped at a Brute over having a banana and the Brute quipped in response that he wouldn't mind a fruit side dish, and another Marine roasted an Elite over Jul'Mdama "Jul'Mdama called! He said I'm dead because I suck!" and the Elite got angry over it. I didn't get to hear what he said due to the distance and the subtitles lasted a second before they got overridden by other dialogue.
Marines: don't let him get away.
Elite: find a path around them.

Sangheili’s and humans are still allied, just not all of them. They are currently in a civil war

Seriously, despite this game's missteps there are some things in the campaign that are a bonafide teaser of next-gen Halo and I love to see it.
The problem Is that It Is a open world, if they keeped doing linear games with maybe a bigger map, the game would've had more things

I think there was an ending cutscene hinting at the Spirit Of Fire, but nobody can tell for sure. If we’re lucky, it’s both.

Would be nice if the Swords of Sanghelios also have some UNSC alliance with them. The Arbiter doesn’t have every Elites/Sangheilis within his force, and there are some against him, so it wouldn’t be weird if there are human within their squad.

If they ever add friendly elites, I think it would make sense for the friendly elites to have olive green armor. Since banished elites just look like classic elites, its either green or halo4/5 elites so I pick green.
In canon. It's mostly the same colour scheme as the Banish, they use alot of cream & reds.
They can easily just do the outlines as friendlies as to not shoot by mistake.
Yeah I do understand why they use the old colors is because the color armor has been burned into our collective brains for hundreds of thousands of hours across all games. So slowly introducing new colors or all being one color but different armor designs would make sense, showing that they are moving away from the identifying at a glance who is who.
They should've never made the Banished elites/grunts/jackals look like the old ones
Also, The Sword of Shangelios isnt the Covenant, there isnt that many restrictions in armor color and armor in general, so you can ser minors with zealots shoulders and some colors outlined (like an olive Green in the chest or any other color they like)
Add that the H4/5 phenotype, plus them using human weapons and/or Sword Of Shangelios weapons (normal ones but colored or a Lil different like variants [brute plasma rifle shooting slower, overheating faster but doing more damage vs Elite one shooting faster and havimg better cooling systems but doing less damage to both shields and health])
It all comes down to people stop being crybabys and doing something like Minecraft, where they vote for next updates and some changes

I like how sometimes the marines take cover behind the elites
It's pretty pragmatic to seek cover behind a 7ft tall friendly (alien in this case) who is far stronger and durable than an ordinary human. I imagine this logic applies to literally any Spartan as well.

Signs of respect and acknowledgement from each culture
Actually an army of elites with pulse rifles and marines with battle rifles would be really effective. The elites would be in the front breaking the enemies' shields with their plasma weapons while tanking damage themselves with their shields. While the more fragile marines would stay in the back with their battle rifles headshotting whoever got their shield broken. I would even pair an elite with a marine and the marine's job would be to focus fire the head of whoever their elite was targeting.
Probably the same for an marine/ODST and a hunter.
The hunter distracts and causes destruction while the marine/ODST flanks.
i love how they have perfect dialogue ... as a side .. Elites fighting other Elites is the most badass thing ive seen from these so far!! i mean, that Elite general at 5:52 just gets stuck by another elite, and then just goes Full Blood of Sangheili mode X,D like, He really showed the difference in rank between him and the Elite Minors, and even in pure cinematic fashion, he went after the humans as a last ditch effort lol this was EPIC

Yeah! A lot more sandbox options would make it a LOT more enjoyable post campaign. Just saying.
I can’t wait to see how the Swords of Sanghelios are eventually implemented into this game, and how they’ll differentiate their armor and troops from the Banished to help signify them being friendlies.
Something about Marines and Elites standing next to and fighting alongside each other just looks right.
All that’s missing is grunts on their side.
Elites fighting alongside humans reminds me the good old days of halo 3 when elites and humans became allies.
I would love if later in the story, the Swords of Sanghelios show up to help the UNSC, and we get to see this actually woven into gameplay. Prob won't happen, but imagine SoS fighting the Banished elites! Would make for some cool dialogue. Maybe even a new color scheme for the SoS elites, so we can differentiate.
Well there used to be ONI research outposts and UNSC personnel stationed on Zeta Halo before The Banished had arrived, and Cortana slipspaced the ring elsewhere. a plot point in the rubicon protocol has a Spartan attempting to search for a way to establish their coordinates and send them back to UNSC held space

Imagine if the Banished had humans among their ranks and the UNSC some elites who were aboard the Infinity.
In lore i think there weas a s small amount of elite emissaries from the swords of sanghelios on the infinity. And the banished do have humans in their ranks, tho not many and they're mostly used for accessing forerunner stuff
@@kaurus1227 Damn, despite thinking about humans among Banished ranks I didn't realize how much more of a threat they were compared to the Covenant even on this regard, given that they would have humans willingly contributing to accessing Forerunner tech.

If Atriox doesn't blame all Grunts for siding with Cortana and helping her which led to Doisac going boom, why would Atriox blame all humans for the UNSC mistakenly letting Cortana go rogue and trying to stop her from destroying Doisac? Especially when Atriox sees vengeance as petty.
I hope for dlc we fight some banished humans since in lore there are some humans in the banished

A nitpick of mine was that for some reason the Banished started having Covenant colors for their ranks even though everyone of every rank was red in Halo Wars 2. I know it's for gameplay purposes but maybe some more neutral/closer to red colors like white, black, copper, gold, etc. would have kept the Banished aesthetic while having the differentiation of ranks.
Yeah it would've been cool but the reason for it not being implemented makes sense. I don't think it'd be very interesting having every enemy you encounter being red, or a shade of grey. It'd especially be hard to tell ranks apart
@@a_sos_type-46_isv Yeah. Practically, gameplay would be limited, but it would really fit the general Banished aesthetic better. Specialized Banished units such as Grunt Mules, Red Elite Majors, Jumppack Brutes, etc. fit so well with their theme. I believe there can be better ways to differentiate rank than just color. Less equipment or more equipment is one and it is used quite well on the higher ranks with the black variant of Berserkers for example.
It's great comparing the colors till you realize that halo wars is based on a red and blue team concept. Also the elites are mercs. so they wouldn't really follow the banished colors.

I always figured it was due to the pride of the elites and their distain for the brutes where they were like, "I'll work for you, but I ain't wearing no monkey colors."

When a none dev makes better content so soon after release you know the devs dropped the ball.
Don't let it stand. They can do better. They got too focused on scummy microtransactions and paying for the color blue. The epic grand fights we could have had in games like Shadow of War do not exist here. Despite the fact even CE had peliacans sending backup in the middle of fights with the enemy coming in waves.
That's the worst part. This was a decade ago where things were done right and they can't do it here?

This really makes me wish the elites shields shields weren’t always showing, because the elite models look amazing but you can hardly see the detail through the energy shield effect. It’s a nit pick but I really do prefer the look of the unshielded elites.

I always imagined a halo story where an Elite, moved by mercy and compassion, saves a human child amidst all the rubble before Reach gets glassed. I always felt that the Sanghelians were respectable warriors, and it's sad that they never really got to fight alongside marines after halo 3.

you gotta read the books or novels, you DO know the elites are having a civil war right? There are elites who couldn't accept truce and still see humanity as garbage and still calls for its annihilation split up from the covenant during its fall and joined other factions. Meanwhile the swords of sanghelios are the ones that want peace with humanity and fighting together with them
It would be weird if an entire species had the same views and opinions as one another. They're a species not a faction

Marines interact and fight as a unit. Sanghelli fight in teams of 2 at most but tend to charge forward and fight almost alone.
This is great. I get Halo 3 vibes seeing these two fighting together.

This is how I imagine the UNSC and the Swords of Sanghelios would fight together
they all started T-bagging on 2:00 lol
You know I kind of wish there was a system in Halo Infinite where you could go to some encampments in the game, and be given a choice of either destroying its occupants or if you do enough of the right side missions and such, recruit them into your army and then you start seeing them with your Marines and even interacting with one another and even fighting together. Maybe in a future DLC for the game.
Or maybe as a side-event with multiplayer rewards (Banished/Covenant-themed cosmetics) - the idea being that:
-In multiplayer you'd have one team with Banished gear, and the other would have UNSC gear. Gametype would be akin to Invasion or a variant of it. If 343 brings Elites into the multiplayer space they could make that a thing.
-In Campaign, if you liberate a POI and kill the HVTs in the area, you'd be able to raid Banished camps and either 'hire' the units still alive there, or eliminate them. Hiring them raises a secondary reputation which, when high enough, has Elites/Grunts/Jackals showing up as friendlies or surprising you by turning on their Banished comrades.
Defeating bosses makes chances of it working higher, and carrying either a local HVT's weapon, Jega's sword (increases chances of befriending Elites by a huge margin), or Escharum's hammer/weapon (increases chances of befriending local Banished by an equal amount across the board, with a small random chance of friendly Skimmers).
After a certain amount of this secondary rep is obtained, you'd unlock the basic Banished arsenal as well as vehicles.
When you get over, say, 50% rep, you'd start to see these ex-Banished wearing bits of orange-with-gold-accent armour with the Swords of Sanghelios symbol, or mil-camo UNSC armour adjusted to their anatomy with respective logo; UNSC troops would occasionally be outfitted with shield packs that take longer to recharge, but work.
Sometime down the line 343 could introduce our multiplayer Spartans to a sort of shared version of the campaign areas as a co-op PVE experience (like replayable missions that are randomly generated - like freeing a bunch of defectors or captive UNSC and bringing them to an extraction point or killing a sum of enemies for some XP as an alternative to PVP modes to add some variety and options, with bigger BTB-esque situations requiring 8 Spartans to properly push through in a timely manner).
