Yes he’s handling himself very well in this video. It’s brave of him to step forward, tell his story and provide the evidence to back it up. I was doubtful of some of his claims at first but it sounds like he has given evidence to collaborate his claims. Sounds like Colleen deserves to be cancelled.

Adam has made hundreds of videos trying to get this amount of attention for the past 3 or 4 years. He presents as a lil bebe, but he is a fully grown adult who is probably (allegedly, in my opinion,) a little trust fund brat who abuses drugs and is constantly on vacation. He doesn't care who he destroys as long as it gets him attention

Dr. Honda, I'm always blown away by how much you are open to hearing feedback from others and owning up if you feel you have made a mistake. This is how you actually apologize for things (though it's not a crime to be uninformed). It speaks volume about your character to be accountable, and even though we shouldn't be surprised by your integrity based on how you present yourself every day, it's such a nice welcome change of pace on this platform. It's why I listen to you all the time. Thank you for being on the internet!

I still cant get past the fact that colleen immediately pulls the "im a mother card" to try and remove all blame and criticism for actively harming children.
I am a mom of 3, ive never sent pornography to children.
I am a mom of 3, i have never spoken in explicit detail on my sex life with children.
I am a mom of 3, and i have never sent a child lingerie and insisted the send pics of them wearing it.
I am a mom of 3, and i have never tried to make a child hang out with me in an unknown city to them without their parents around.
I am a mom of 3, and i have never insisted or encouraged children to do free work for me in the promise that when they are 18 I'll hire them and then pay them.
I am a mom of 3, and have never had young boys reach into my pants for snacks as a "joke"

On the conversation about perpetrators: a nuanced view is so important for everyone’s sake. When we call perpetrators monsters or (non-clinically) psychopaths or (non-clinically) narcissists, we often forget the more difficult and sometimes more frightening truth: humans can do evil things. Some of us never do anything even close to illegal to others, and though we accidentally cause harm (and maybe purposefully once or twice, especially as kids), we generally are good to each other. But if we don’t recognize the capacity each of us has to harm one another, we’re more likely to perpetrate harm, however minor or major. And some of us may be more reluctant to admit someone is causing us harm because “but they’re not the abusive type! They’re not even narcissists! They’re actually a good person and definitely not monsters!” etc. When in truth, regardless of the reason for the harm, we’re being hurt-even abused-and we would be completely right to protest or separate from that harm, to take care of ourselves (or to report someone to the police and let them go to jail).
Humans are capable of so much good-but also so much evil. We’re not angels. We’re not animalistic monsters. We do things for a wide variety of reasons. If we come to terms with this, we are more capable of acting and responding in a way that is good for us and for society.

When Colleen and her siblings were growing up they were filmed a lot by their father. I have no doubt that this contributed to their idea of propriety and boundaries. Trent Ballinger has been proven to be flirting with children online. Rachel Ballinger became "friends" with JoJo Siwa when she was very young. Chris Ballinger films his many children for money.

7:10 I had to listen to this multiple times to let the information sink in because I felt like you were talking about my stepdad and myself (to a certain extent). I feel this is how my stepdad developed his narcissistic personality. I consciously realized in high school that I was constantly telling people how awesome I was to make up for how small I felt because my step-family bullied me constantly. I realized how pitiful that was and decided to stop telling people how "awesome" I am and instead let my actions speak for themself. I needed to walk the walk, not talk the talk. I hope that through a lot of introspection and internal work on my flaws I can break away from the narcissism chain.
Honestly, it was such a healing segment for me Dr. Honda. I would love a video dedicated to this topic

One thing I would love to hear more about is in Colleen’s first vlog back (fall vlog, after the phony “apology”) she says that her therapist told her to continue to vlog everyday like she was used to but just not post it. I think that's a complicated question. Colleen's therapist's duty of care is to Colleen, not the public. So I could see the therapist thinking that maybe not recording at all could be more destabilizing to Colleen and recommending that she keep some consistency in her day to day life. But that's just my lay opinion.

      @mokc913 11 місяців тому +5

@@WitchOracle agreed, I think it can be similar to journaling. It's the fact that she's now posting publicly that's problematic when she quite obviously is refusing to take full accountability. I'm grossed out by Andrew Callaghan posting again, too. Even though it's their livelihood, idgaf, they use their platforms to find victims. They can find other jobs

Such a simple sounding thing that so many "creators" cannot seem to tackle. I knew you would do the right thingnof course but it just warms my heart still. Thank you for helping me have more faith in humanity ❤
Also its really dissapointing to read all the victim blaming going on in the comments. Dr. Honda you are right as a SA survivor the denial and back turning that happens after the assualt is way worse and this is why so many people do not report or come forward but yall would probably balme them for that too. Just pisses me off. You think as a supporter of this channel people would be better about this sort of thing.

  • @tired.5565
    @tired.5565 11 місяців тому +2

So here's my thoughts/opinions on what was said. My mom would "vent" and confide in me about money problems etc growing up. My therapist basically said that adults who do this need to make some friends.
I believe adults who do this need an outlet for things they are struggling with or feel bitter about but are innapropriatly confiding in children. I believe the power dynamic feels "safer". I think children and adolescents are more likely to agree with adults, the power dynamic allows adults to say what they want without any real pushback or repercussions.
Children and adolescents may even be more attentive then other adults. Colleen said she has RSD. I think interacting with kids may feel like a "safer" thing to do. They already look up to her and don't have the emotional maturity to really be an "equal" yet. She really can't lose. I think Colleen did not intend to hurt people but was putting her desire to feel heard and special above the wellbeing of other people. A part of me feels like she is also emotionally immature and out of touch as well. Like I do think she lacks self awareness and has genuine difficulty seeing her faults. I even think the Trisha thing (body shaming) was a way for her to feel special or superior. She talks about her weight alot and she used to say she had some insecurity about how she looked. I think sharing these photos with kids once again takes away the threat that an equal may call her out on her behaviour or tell Trisha what's going on. I think she may not realize she's doing this when she made these decisions but I don't think it makes the situation any less real.
Just to end things off, as a victim myself, victim blaming is 100 percent more traumatizing then the event itself. People wouild rather deny problems to protect the illusion that the world is safer then it is or absolve any willful ignorance on their part. It is so illogical. It makes my blood boil like nothing else. I can empathize with Collen because she is a human being and she is a mother and I know things like this can affect your health and ability to parents which is heartbreaking. On the other side she is not the victim in any way. I think a genuine sincere apology is so much more affective then people truly believe it to be and can bring forth alot of healing. Unfortunately I believe we are taking so many steps back in this area. It makes me angry and sad. I appreciate how brave Adam was to not go back on what he said. It's easy to doubt yourself when everyone is against you. We all make mistakes but need to be accountable for our actions. The cowards who enable abuse and push victims are almost worse then the perpetrator in my opinion. Anyways just my out look on the situation. Cheers to never questioning your truama again.

Many people defend Colleen by strawmanning. They're claiming that she can't be a groomer because she has not physically touched minors or sexually assaulted a child. The most frustrating thing is that, yes, there are people making accusations that are not provable of Colleen being a r*pist or a child m*lester. Those are the main "accusations" that Colleen is hyperfixated on when she says that "people are saying things about me that aren't true" or that "I can't control what people say about me". That's how manipulative she is. She brings attention to the most dramatic accusations and points at the trolls without actually acknowledging what her VICTIMS have come forward saying or addressing the physical proof and screenshots that demonstrate her sexual conversations with minors. Yes, she sent her groupchat nudes to make "silly comments" on Trisha's body and "bond" with her fans like a "quirky aunt". Those images come from multiple sources, AND Colleen apologized to Trisha Paytas for doing it. I don't know how she hasn't been arrested yet.

I feel society is lucky to have such well-spoken and informed role models for this kind of survivor, though I wish they hadn't HAD to become so well-spoken and palatable. I'm happy for her return and hope it is a sign that cancel culture is evolving and transforming. I hope she can model how to make mistakes publically and change. Most victims want repair through the injurer taking awareness and accountability for the pain and doing better. Healed people don't want to see people suffering, ceasing to work and fading into the crevices of society. That creates more harm and risk of reinjury. Reform is possible and it doesn't take public shaming, ostracizing, nor criminalizing mistakes. I'd love to see more therapists lending their time to community dialogue efforts and helping create mediation opportunities for non-criminal injuries (or criminal) that need a space to collaborate on and plan for reparation.

I’ve Never heard such a clear description of her - and it’s helpful for me to know. My mother died 3 years ago - but she still chats away in my head, and this moved me further towards telling that voice to STFU.

Also, your unbiased approach is very much appreciated, even though I think you humanized and gave Colleen more credit than could ever be deserved by her. I appreciate that because it is so easy to dismiss people's humanity and see them less than human, and I think that does a disservice to everyone. ❤

Just kind of an unrelated, but interesting note on Colleen that I wouldn't expect you to come across. A friend of Colleen's ex, his name is Steve Greene, spoke about his experience being friends with both of them while they were together. He said at the beginning she seemed normal, but then apparently she talked more shit about her ex than he's ever heard anyone talk. Like to anyone and everyone. He'd leave the room and she starts going off.
I was never a fan of hers, but she certainly seems like a difficult person to be around. 😅

The sad thing is most laws about sending porn to minors for it to be illegal you have to be doing it with the intent to engage in a physical/s*xual abuse with the minor and since those other factors were involved and he was a minor in Ireland so that adds complexity to the situation. But that’s why she couldn’t be charged under California’s current law

Listen I’m all for listening to affected former underage fans but why are we being so gracious with Tricia Paytas? She’s not a nice person, a good person, or an honest person. If it means she gets three minutes of attention, she’s lie about anything and anyone. I’ll be honest - when Tricia started talking, I stopped caring. That’s the moment I started to question the validity of all of it.
It’s also ironic to me that everyone is alleging that Colleen is using her kids to boost her credibility when Tricia has successfully used the fact that she’s a mom now to boost HER credibility.
Now I don’t fully trust any of it - so why include someone that untrustworthy as a pillar of your argument against another person? So Tweedle Dee threw a rock at Tweedle Dumbass? Who gives af?

    • @that1chick92

@@GirlieCarolinas you can have whatever opinion you want on Trisha. Your feelings on her are completely valid. But so can other people. If you don’t care for her or the situation at all then my advice would be to stop paying attention to it. I’m not a fan a Trisha’s, at all. But I do think her behavior has improved since she became a mother which often happens with people. I also believe that just because she has a bad history doesn’t mean what Colleen did to her is any less wrong. The difference between Colleen using her kids and Trisha saying she’s a mother are two completely different things. Trisha doesn’t really have her daughter in any videos except for the occasional update. Colleen has her kids in her vlogs every day therefore using them to make money. Along with the fact that they are children. They can not consent to being in her vlogs. But like it said. Your opinion is completely valid but so are others.

@GirlieCarolinas cause its still wrong to throw a rock at Tweedle Dumbass.
It doesnt matter how shitty of a person Trisha is. It is still wrong to pretend to be her friend and illegally share her nudes and pornography with minors. And it is still wrong to pretend to be her friend and host viewing parties of her nudes and pornography with your adult friends to make fun of her body.
That does need to be talked about.

Adam is in love with his trauma. He repeats himself and reacts to all of Colleen's videos. His obsession with his own trauma in combination with the money that he receives from this is stunting his ability to heal and grow. Surely as a psychologist you must agree that this is partially Self-inflicted and perhaps maybe even embellished. When you are paid for being "traumatized" there is little incentive to move on. Even though adams story was true, his friend Johnny was exposed for false allegations.
