This Eo has got anti ghosting technology so the video review look way better than the video appear on note Air 3 c. The screen in white also more brighter whereas boox C appear more grayish
I would like to know if the LED lights are uniformly distributed or perhaps when you see the screen diagonal or any angle ~ 10 degrees you could be able to see the 3 or 4 LED LIGHTS which I saw in one model of BOOX. Let me know with full brightness.🔅
To be honest, reading manga on this would be awesome because of the larger screen. I can never make out the furigana on a 7in device. The only thing I don’t really need is color but I’m still shopping a round for a device.
Wish is better between this PocketBook InkPad Eo and the Box Tab Ultra C Pro ? For the screen color and for writting with external keyboard. Thank you.
I really need some help. Why isn't this good for reading? I've been looking for a large size like this for color comics. They are all fully featured tablets. Non are just really for reading. So why not use this? I my understand the, "if you had a gun to your head, this is what it's like to read with it" Why is it so crazy and out of its use case to read on it? If there's a good comic size pure reader in color, I'd get it. Oh, and I use obsidian notes all the time, so maybe that'd work well
There is some privacy concerns about tech like this being involved with Chinese companies. Do you think it's an issue for the pocketbook to be basically using the same build as the bigme devices?
"Don't worry, the 4 mics always-on that you can't turn off are only there for your benefit. Don't be paranoid we don't want your juicy data in our devices constantly phoning home (China), duh crazy American with anti-chinese sentiment" It's funny when some of their (Chinese companies) units have built-in mics yet no speakers 🤣(Boox Poke5)... if they were to make the price lower they should sell them without mics too. BTw, turn the WIFI on and the battery drains like crazy, they need to send all your data the fastest they can, the processor and ram go BRRRRRR... Just buy a Kindle and use your Ipad or Samsung tablet for taking notes. Don't sell your privacy to the reds.
In theory Pocketbook controls the software, and they have a history of respecting EU privacy laws. BigMe itself (or Boox)... Much less trustworthy IMHO.
It's the *note editing* "tool menu"... I'm not an expert but I think it's because these kind of color readers have 2 different screen layers, one for showing color and one for B&W. Those shadows disappear automatically sometimes one the screen refreshes (you can see them disappearing in the vid), but sometimes they don't (It's called *ghosting*)... in that case I think you can refresh the screen with a button or something in the device's config, to manually get rid of this annoying effect. Apparently the color layer isn't refreshing automatically because he's not using color (hence the color layer) all the time, maybe he has the auto "refresh" option enabled for "every 5 pages" or something like that. It's just a guess.
What is the maximum supported capacity of the microsd card? If it is similar to Bigme it should be 1TB but support told me max 128GB. Thanks for the reply.
I truly don't get this tech space. If I'm gonna buy an e-ink note taking device, I don't care the slightest about watching video, taking photos and/or video, colour (definitely not at the cost of black-white contrast), listening to e-books or any sound at all. All I care about is the ability to read (without backlight), write (meaning the screen size should preferably be 8", but no less than 7"), maybe look something up online, the battery life and portability (meaning resilience to damage and a size no larger than 9"). Why does every manufacturer seem to just insist on wasting development cycles on half-baked features that any phone can handle better?
Different strokes, I guess - I have no interest at all in writing / note-taking, I only want to be able to read. On a device of this size, that means comics such as the manga shown in this video, as I have a smaller e-reader for books. However, for a color device, I would have been interested in hearing a bit more on how well reading color comics work, how matted are the colors, etc. Some discussion on the front light would have been useful, as well. I'm with you that video and photos, watching or making/taking, is of zero use, as is sound. I already have a phone for that, e-ink devices are for reading on a screen that doesn't hurt the eyes.
Sorry to disappoint you. I am holding it in my hands. It is the BigMe Core software but with all the BigMe features removed which renders this device - compared to other devices - rather useless. Proprietary Nibs. Great screen though. Not even a marker in all apps (xReader and note taking app) included. I should have gone with the BigMe InkNote X. But hey, at least I got Data Privacy included traded against any e-note-features. 🤬
@@ThePianist51 I am sorry to hear that. At least the data privacy thing is a pro. I never turn on the wifi on my Bigme and keep airplane mode on because of the suspicious things that run over the network otherwise. It also has global handwriting mode, right? There are much better notetaking apps on Google Play that will give you your missing features.
@@ThePianist51 At this point I'm more concerned about the data privacy thing and would be willing to make that trade. I just have a real hard time trusting Boox and Bigme with their issues with Play Store certification and constantly calling home to China (even when not logged into an account), not to mention their view of consumer protection laws in the West.
I was looking forward to it when I saw the promo video and specs but the fact they didn’t go for a paper like screen was such disappointment. Will keep waiting for the Supernote 5X2
Please, make a comparison between Eo and Note Air 3 c
This Eo has got anti ghosting technology so the video review look way better than the video appear on note Air 3 c. The screen in white also more brighter whereas boox C appear more grayish
Thanks for your review! I was itching to buy one for weeks, but I wanted Good e-Reader approval first. Now I'm most definitely going to pick one up :)

Thank you for the review! Could uou please touch a topic of text annotation (both in ebooks format and in pdf format?). Thank you!

Does the Eo have global handwriting (ie for OneNote) like the BigMe device does?
Is there any black and white readers with the same display as Kindle scribe has (300ppi and 10"+) ?
I am getting mine tomorrow. I am so excited. :D
How is it ?
Is it good as expected ?
Im searching a long time for a good one with good pdf reading.
Where can I get replacement nibs for the pen?
How long does Pocketbook EO work in reading mode?
I know it's a big one.... but I still wish they included buttons on this one.
Wish is better between this PocketBook InkPad Eo and the Box Tab Ultra C Pro ? For the screen color and for writting with external keyboard. Thank you.
Appreciate your manga compatibility review.

What about battery life?

good question

Hmm … it's from a German company, so this should be a big no-fo, but I don't know.

What's with those square shadows on the background in the top left? They seem stuck as they don't refresh

Does anyone know if you can attach a mechanical keyboard to the EO via the USB-C connection?

I answer myself, I inserted a 512 GB microsd and it is recognized without problems
Can it or do you recommend any phone size colour eink device that can use DuoLingo to learn language that I can speak to too?
I am cautious with this one. :( I was hoping for the device to be fully programmed by Pocketbook.

The software looks better than Bigme's. Do 3rd party launchers work on it? Bigme is horrible buggy with 3rd party launchers.
