3:00 "not sure why switching to Dark Mode changed the brightness settings" that's actually a pretty smart feature cause like usually you use Dark Mode at night so it might be nice to have Dark Mode always a lower brightness than during the day so it doesn't blast your eyes
Thanks for the review (I'v been waiting for this for about two months🙂). For me personally, it's all about reading books, and it's nice to see covers in color and have the ability to read colorful graphics novels. Although I find entertaining taking notes, scribble, etc, on other e-ink devices, it's not necessarily (and also distracting) for just enjoying the favorite book. Now I'm interesting to see 6 inch new color Pocketbook eReader.
@2:25 - Ah. So the relatively dark screen and need for having its light on for colour screens isn't something limited to the new Kobos. Think maybe I'll keep this video bookmarked to link on Reddit whenever someone complains about it. :P
Have it for a few weeks now and I do love it though initially I didn't want color. It's dark, compared to b&w, and also have to turn the light up to almost 80% for folor comics to pop in dark, but still it's great for text based reading with low light too
@@goodereader Nothing unusual, almost all Pocketbook devices are like this for me. Also this fact never stopped me to watch the reviews from start to finish :)
I agree. Kaleido technology is just horrible. You get awful washed out colours at the cost of a grainy and much darker looking screen, even in black and white. Moreover, they are releasing almost only colour devices so less alternative for the good E-Ink devices. Kaleido is ruining the E-reader market.
Kaleido is not garbage. It is the golden standard of countless manufacturers from multiple countries on 50 plus devices It is one of the primary investment plans of e-ink Taiwan who holds 99% market share of all e-paper on earth. It is showcased by nearly every manufacturer in the business at trade shows on every continent Rakuten, one of the largest International mega conglomerates in the world utilize kaleido for their kobo devices Sorry but you are objectively incorrect Kaleido is not horrible. You are just simply being a contrarian going against the grain for the sake of a comment on UA-cam and because kaleido is popular

Bought one in april. They give you 1100 books to download for free at least here in Poland. Good review!

How it handles PDF documents in colour?

Hello. Do y’all have student discounts?😭😭😭
I bought this e reader from your site the beginning of may and I’m still waiting for it to arrive 😢
Is a new Verse coming out too?
Yes a verse color

Only need a device for reading, thus a BW one is adequate. Dark means the light is always on and the battery drains faster.
@@dennisginel1335 The color is for reading graphic novels.
Sadly the 'Will I ever even consider to buy this device?' part of the review was over after 33 seconds.
Dang

Color e-ink is a scourge. If people are haopy to stare a glowing screen with color just get a tablet.
No it isn't
