In this video I share the website through which I sell my hand painted greeting cards and prints of my artwork. I also share the new Facebook group for artists to exchange ideas and to show their work.

This is off-topic, but you could have a second youtube channel where you read bedtime stories to help people relax and fall asleep...Your voice is so calming and peaceful. ❤❤❤

So happy to have stumbled across your channel! I started painting cards during covid (I’m 87) with nary an art lesson in my life, though not nearly as well done as yours. I just now across your channel. Your artwork is awesome! I am 76 years old and am just starting this watercolor world journey. As a kid I only created with crayons and coloring books, didn't even doodle/sketch. My art is nothing like yours as I'm still learning leaves and flower petals. Larry, I love that you give your paintings away. I do the same. But I love your idea of sending greeting cards to people who are elderly and lonely or ill. I'm sitting in an emergency vet clinic waiting for my dog Suzy to come out of surgery *bad laceration). It's 1am here. 2 weeks ago I had to put down my Aussie, almost 12, who was Suzy's father, due to cancer. I'm planning to paint a watercolor of my dog holding his favorite Frisbee. For me it is a wonderful consolation. I love your idea of sharing cards at church. I plan to do this at mine. Thanks for this inspiring video.
Oh goodness. Thank you for sharing. I know this is a very difficult time for you. Dogs are truly God's way of showing us what unconditional love should look like. I'm sure the painting will be beautiful.
Our son has just completed a picture book in memory of his beloved Buddy , a golden retriever, who died a couple of years ago and which left him heartbroken. I’m glad to say he now has another one! Best wishes for your planned painting ….it’s a wonderful way to heal a sore heart!

You're work with the student grade Cotman is impressive. If you could get ahold of schmincke or Daniel Smith it would probably be astronomically better quality. Light fastness and such matters when selling. You are appreciated poppa
Cottman is a student grade paint. I think i you would be much happier with Daniel Smith. Or any other quality watercolor product. Your work is very good. Thank you for the information I will investigate the pixel website.
Cotman was the medium the great watercolourist Ron Ransom used and it never faded. But I love Daniel Smith colours for the translucency especially.

HI Larry. Your cards are very impressive and good luck with the business. I have made greeting cards for 25 years and use all forms of ways to make them, but never watercolor. I never sold them, but you are certainly an inspiration after viewing this video. I think you could make full size paintings with results like the ones you demonstrated.

Your work is very beautiful. I too paint watercolors but then I scan them or photograph them and make cards with the scanned photos. I sold a few years ago but now I just send them to friends on special occasions.

This is so fun! Before I forget, and maybe a hundred comments have already said this, but Cotman is their student grade paints. Their professional grade is called professional on the tunes and pan sets. The difference is in pigment ratios and all that entails, such as lightfastness, etc. As you research it, you could actually explain it to your viewers and give us a help who are just getting started and are maybe wondering, if not outright confused by it. But that aside, I am so glad I stumbled onto your channel today. What a benefit you offer on this platform! Encouragement, excitement, using your gifts, stretching into unfamiliar territories-whatever direction that leads. Thanks for being here w us!
Thank you so much. Yes, I am not an expert. I'm just having fun and making cards for people. I really didn't know when I began that Cotman was "student grade." It seems so rich and seems to get great results. But, you guessed correctly, I have been told numerous times to get the professional paints. I will. Eventually (LOL). Thank you for writing!!

Hello Larry….what a sweet and kind man you are. I’m currently developing myself as a fine artist, but I also love paper-crafting and odds & ends of all sorts of crafting. I’m primarily into watercolor art, but enjoy oils, pastels, color pencils and whatever strikes my fancy. It’s always great to hear about what other artists and creatives are doing. I have a website and use Instagram and FB some….but I’ve not really begun selling much of anything, except a few pieces at some local shows. But getting my sales up & running is my goal this year. I also do vintage collectibles as a reseller at a small booth (I live in Md.) and some online but am phasing out of that so I can really focus on my art (getting ready to have a big yard sale & clearance.) Thanks for sharing your experiences. I watch a lot of YT art channels and there is a great community of support, inspiration and fun….and even stress relief for so many on YT….and we can connect with wonderful people from all over the world! I’ll be checking in on your videos and then I subscribed too! 😊

I enjoyed this video. You are doing on line a lot of what I would like to do online, namely get others to see my watercolors and pen and ink sketches. The one item that hit me was your use of watercolor when making cards. I have been doing this off and on for years. Never sold a single card. All were sent to others just to be different and to let people know I put a bit more personal interest in each card than one puts into a cord when they just buy one and sent it. Most of mine have been for Christmas. A few for birthdays. I need to look into how you set this up. I can get more cards to more people doing it your way. Thanks for all this. May you have a long and rewarding art career. By the way, my grandkids call me Poppa as well.
Thank you! From one Poppa to another! I also find that most of the originals become gifts. And, yes, Christmas is a big "card giving" time. I love seeing the cards displayed in homes when I visit. I've received letters from some who say the cards are perfect "wall art" for inside their RV. For me it is simply something fun to do. Thank you, again.

I do the same thing, with watercolor cards, the old fashioned way. But, to save some of the art, as in Christmas cards I would have them printed at a print shop on watercolor paper. You could not tell them from the original. Any way, I’m going to follow along and try to benefit from some of your great discoveries and ideas. Your art’s not bad either 😅
Your work is wonderful! Thank you for sharing it. It is an encouragement to me. I just started using watercolors and to avoid intimidation from that big blank expensive sheet of watercolor I cut the sheets into three inch by four inch cards. Now I think it's no problem to experiment with different techniques on the little cards. And sometimes I have something that I really like.

Just a thought, you might want to watermark your art to make it harder for someone to steal it. Another way is to show it at a slight angle or at a lesser resolution. Sad that there are so many dishonest people. Your paintings are beautiful!
