    Thank you for sharing this information. You apparently have some rude people leaving rude or judgemental comments. Ignore them. You're great and so enjoyable to watch. I love your cards and enthusiasm.

    Thank you for the information. It was clear and concise and not “long winded” at all. Also, it’s your artwork, so you can offer it at whatever price you wish. It’s entirely your decision to adjust prices. Or not. Based on your satisfaction with your desired outcome. While valid, knowledgeable advice is in most instances , helpful, baseless criticism is not. Your work is very nice and you are taking the time to share some very helpful information that few others have shared. No need to apologize. For any of it. Thanks😊.

      I agree. I don’t know who said you were long-winded but if they have a problem with it, there’s a feature on UA-cam where they can speed up the video and listen to you faster. I appreciate you just the way you are.

    Did you know that you can make your own stamps (like a brush, but not) in Procreate and have them be of your signature so you don’t have to write it out every time and just have it saved in your brush collections?!
    I know writing it out every time isn’t hard, but just a neat thing you can do with digital technology in this app!

    • @PoppaPaints

      Wow. I had no idea. I've heard of people making their own digital brushes but I didn't know I could make a digital stamp of my signature! Okay, looks like I'll be doing some UA-cam searches to see how that is done. Thank you!

    You’re selling yourself short here on your prices! I get you’re not so much in it to make money, but for your originals, it’s not unheard of to sell them at that price! If people are complaining that your prices are too high for an original, then you’re marketing to the wrong crowd there and/or that’s what prints are for! When artist go down on their prices to cater to the lowered market crowd, it ultimately hurts artists as a whole being they’re not taken seriously that they should ask a decent wage for their work especially if they have been at it a while. $105 is still lot considering how much more they could be! If someone is finagling your prices, they are not taking you seriously and it’s quite offensive when they do that because they don’t value your time, skill, talent and art as much as they should! To those complaining, they just don’t understand the art market! They wouldn’t barter for a lower price on their plumbing, roof work, accounting, meal when eating out or on their heating bill, but yet so many are so quick to do this with an artist because they’re not taking them seriously and think it’s ’just a paint’ when it’s far more than than! It’s years of experience, time, education, skills built up as well as your cost in supplies and your time going out to find a resource to paint from whether that be out in nature or otherwise. It’s time cleaning your supplies and caring for them as well as cost in materials, learning marketing, time and money invested in learning how to record your videos here, and the technology to post them online to sell. It’s also shipping costs and trips to the post office to ship them out and time investing marketing to your customers and reaching out to them. It’s all of this and much more, but the most over looked part of it all is a part of you in each piece you make and put in all your work. But, if you have a background in marketing, I don’t need to be the one to tell you this! It’s moreso for everyone else here who would dare complain about an artist wanting to rightfully so, make a living off their works of art! We shouldn’t have to defend our prices, but in case people don’t get it, here’s why!
    And for you, I just hope you understand that while you’re doing it for the love of making people happy, I hope you also don’t sell yourself short on doing so because you’re not getting much back in return and burn yourself out! Your artwork is definitely worth the price tag you set for yourself here and I hope you do make something for yourself in exchange for your work because it’s beautiful!

      Wow! Thank you so much for your message. Well, I must agree. I guess for me, it is simply that I have always been a softie. I also do children's book illustrations, and because I have no real handle on the value of art, I have a partner and a publisher who do the money-negotiating on my behalf (by the way, both of them are women, and they are WAY better at asking for higher prices than I am). I will take to heart what you have written. Thank you, again.

    This was so wonderful and appreciated. Although not as exciting as painting could you touch upon the best way to ship cards and protect art from your studio and how you price shipping? If using pixels
    Is it worth
    Selling internationally or kind of a pain? Thanks

    • @PoppaPaints
      @PoppaPaints  4 місяці тому +1

      Thank you for writing. When I send originals, I usually use USPS Priority and utilize one of their cardboard envelopes. I protect the card in a plastic sleeve and pad both sides with additional cardboard. The cost is, I think, around $10 to ship in the US. I haven't sold any originals outside the US yet. Regarding Pixels, they handle everything (which is why I use them). I will make a video soon showing how their printed greeting cards look and compare them with the originals.

    Promising information, thank you for sharing. But, how do people even find these sites? I had never even heard of them before, so do they advertise somehow? I am living on the very edge, on the lowest income given by Social Security, so I really must sell what I can create, you see. Living in the north, I will not be likely to afford even the tiny bit of heating I use next winter, I just barely made it through the last, with LiHeap's meager assistance, and currently must pay for winter heat used, all year long. I can't afford necessities, like buying a used car, desperately needed, and I have one eye going bad from wet amd, so as an artist, really want to paint while it is still possible. Using social media, as you do, makes sense. Thank you for your caring advice for artists. By the way, I love your work. Remember to give Poppa a big thumbs up people, for his kind generosity in sharing this important and helpful information. ❤❤❤

      Thank you for writing! I have my website information listed on my business card but most of the time people find my work through social media posts. My posts are very simple. I post a photo of a painting about once a day and that generates a following. The website links are on my bio page on all of my social media. Keep being creative!

    Can you continue sending it from Procreate to Red Bubble on your iPad instead of having to send it to a computer/laptop? My laptop is SUPER slow and I don’t use it for much of anything unless I can’t get away with needing to. So I guess I’m asking is if you can just do all this on your phone and iPad or if the site requires a laptop/computer.

    • @PoppaPaints
      @PoppaPaints  4 місяці тому +2

      Great question. Yes, you can send it from your iPad or your phone. I should have mentioned that. My main reason for using my computer is because the typing part is easier for me on my MacBook. Thank you so much for writing.

    New subscriber here...Very informative, thanks for your efforts. Did I miss something? What percentage do you make on your end when your art is printed and sold on one of the products?

    • @PoppaPaints
      @PoppaPaints  4 місяці тому

      Great question. On all three of the sites I use, the profit margin is set by me. On Fine Art America (and Pixels.com), the markup is in dollars. On RedBubble and ArtPal, the markup is in percentages. I hope this helps. Thank you for writing.
