And now I'm back, after three years, to tell you I still love this cover. Are you still reading comments here? I hope so. Of course, PTX's cover of "Kiss from a Rose" has reawakened interest in this masterpiece from Seal. Their rendition is stunning, but I had to come back to you to relive the trance-like sensation provoked by your version. Yours is the first performance I ever heard of KfaR, and I'll keep coming back. Bravo, Sonny.
This is absolutely mesmerizing. It could have gone on for another 20 minutes and I would still be sitting right here in a trance. And what an intricate, lush arrangement! Your instincts are always spot on--this time it was exactly right to go back to the identical quadruplets look. Sometimes it's your personality that really lights up a performance; this time, it's all about the sound. Magnificent. (Keep working with this guy. Arrangements don't get better than this.)
Hahaha I think I might record another couple of arrangements by this guy. We seems to hit it off. He just talks to my wife more than I'd like :D. Thanks so much for the encouraging words again! I love reading your comments.
@@sgtsonny Huh. It must be confusing for her, between you, the arranger, and those other three guys who sing with you. I love listening to anything you record, but this is one is exceptional. Ooh..just had to stop writing for a bit. Got distracted by the crescendo at 1:23 or so ("my power, my pleasure, my pain"). So expressive, so perfectly executed. Anyway, I'm repeating my adjectives now, but this is outstanding. It's awesome.
Aww man, you're sooo welcome. Thank you for stopping by, listening and taking the time to leave these kind words. People like you are such a large amount of the reason why I do this!
I love this song for a very long time, and frankly, I wondered why you were trying to screw Seal's perftectness. But after listening your arrangement I got the goosebumps. I became curious about the song's background, the text and it's meaning, and I listend to the known Batman version. Now I admit: Your arrangement purified the beauty of the core of that song, it's emotional power and it's compexity. - Congrats!
Now, I can honestly say that I'm much more a fan of your older work most of the time. (First iteration of And So It Goes, Scarborough Fair, Go The Distance etc.) I think your voice back then had more grit and "impurities" which I prefer. Nowadays I feel like it's a bit too polished. As if singing technique has become more important than overall performance / endresult. Or maybe I listen with different ears than yourself. It doesn't matter anyway, because different people like different things. *BUT!* This is truely a masterpiece. I really like the arrangement, I love the subleties in it, you use your voice in exactly the right way. Playing with pitch, volume, rhythm at the exact right times, choosing either falsetto, head- or chestvoice, it's all done flawlessly. I really loved this Sonny!
Haha so kind. I'm doing better than ever. My career as a professional singer really took off a couple of years ago, which is why I had to quit recording these videos. Earlier this year I won a major television show called 'Starstruck' with my Freddie Mercury impersonation and since then my Queen band 'Mother Mercury' exploded. I'm playing all the theaters in Belgium and The Netherlands and a lot of festivals in Europe as well. I'm living my dream. Thanks so much for your concern, Isaac. I appreciate it so much! 🙏🏻❤️
eindelijk eens wat leuks uit Belgie jammer dat ik het zo laat gevonden heb.
Suddenly, I was a teenager again. Thank you for this amazing work of art.
Aww, you're so welcome! The power of music is magical! Thanks so much.

AMAZING!! 💯
I've watched Batman Forever several times and I never knew that this song was in it. I know it from the TV show Community.
And what a great version Dean Pelton and Jeff sang there. I LOVE that show so much!!

Love your work, Sonny! This is an all-time fav of mine. What are the vocal ranges of the 4 parts?
Simply red ; holding back the years .... I KEEP HOLDING ON,.....If you could be so kind ?
