About me and my channel: Hello friends! I'm Alannis, a painter who mostly works with acrylic. I enjoy working on a variety of surfaces such as canvas, wood, and ceramic; and my subject matter ranges from wildlife to landscapes, and from space to abstract.
I began to enjoy painting when I was about 16 years old, which is when my passion switched from pencil drawing to working with paint mediums. In the summer of 2018, I began to really throw myself into my art. I began painting more, challenging myself to create realistic paintings, and pushed myself out of my comfort zone by participating in art festivals, selling and discussing my work.
The subject matter of my work is heavily influenced by my love of nature, as well as my personal experiences. I find painting to be very therapeutic, and it is my greatest passion. I'm working to push myself to not only paint, but to create more video content, outlining my painting process.
I appreciate all of your support, and thank you for joining me on this journey :)

What paintbrushes are you using and size?

Sorry for the late response, I just started using this channel again recently :) Unfortunately I can't remember the specifics, but I'll try to include this kind of information in my future videos! Sorry about that. However I don't have any specific brush brands that I'm dedicated to using, and I just pick a size that works best for whatever size surface area I'm covering :)

How do you keep your wood slices from cracking? This has been a huge problem for me

My wood slices split as well over time! I've never had them split completely in half though, so I just let them do their thing and it gives them a bit more of a rustic look :) However, I've read that you can apply a sealant, varnish, wax, or even specific oils to help keep it from splitting! I hope this helps a bit, sorry I don't have any experience to give you a better answer! :)
