@@LawrenceKenshin yes please, there are tons of videos about head movement in boxing, but not so many for MT/Kickboxing and especially MMA. Would love to watch one about these 3 arts. If i had to pick one, i think MMA would be the most interesting out of the 3, as there are so many threats involved like kicks, knees and takedowns.

There's a lot of videos out there showcasing how to use headmovement against people who don't really train.
This is why I asked Thailand's celebrity boxing coach, GoldPhantom, to showcase how to move your head against the Chinese National boxing champion.
If you enjoyed this video and what you saw, let us know and we will do many more. Thank you for tuning in and stay safe!

I think in MMA or other fights that utilize kicks, knees elbows, grappling you would need to omit certain head movement tactics from the head movement arsenal but to discard head movement altogether, as most MMA, MT & KB fighters do, sadly, is foolish. The trick I think is in not just omitting deep ducks & dips but in the footwork, adapting and flowing between different styles of stances in the same fight.

If you have no intentions of punching, it can be. but moving straight backwards is dangerous because it sets you up for big shots. Letting someone swing and miss really helps you wear them out. Hitting nothing but air is exhausting and frustrating.

    • @Venezuelangel
      @Venezuelangel 4 роки тому +1

Hello, Peek-a-Boo fighter here, forced to since I'm 5'5: If you're moving your head but you're not moving in, your opponent knows he has free offensive reign. He'll just focus on attacking. This is why I can't do stationary slips like Tyson, I don't have his reflexes, so I have to be constantly changing range, and the way this guy does it it's just gorgeous. The footwork, the not-letting-hits-rattle-you mentality, and always finding a position from where you can counter attack/see your opponent's movements is what I consider most important about this video. If you're planning on going full defensive while stepping back, you better have longer range than your opp, otherwise you're just gonna be eating glove all night.

    In my utmost humble opinion.
“ Fighting is relativity in motion, never expect only respond as it one’s opponent within context that dictates tactics”
    “ Everything works once”
“ true wisdom equates to correct comprehended knowledge , appropriately applied”
The semantics of why/ where/ when in regards to any technique will deem its state of validity or not. Many will disregard certain aspects of techniques, and thus label them as
“ inefficient/ ineffective” and one will always find examples of the contrary( ie spinning hook kicks/ jumping knees applied in a self defense setting) but one needs to state the fact concerning it to be the exception not the norm.
Comprehending this, and thus understand the semantical aspects of the context one finds oneself in, and from there correctly apply within that setting, will enable oneself to be extremely adaptable( ie I rather have it;not need it/ than need it; not have it) mentality, because mobility within dexterity with flawless correct responses , cemented upon the foundation of impeccable basics, will enhance your abilities progressively. Ie it will enable you to hit harder when the opportunity arises, and will enable you to get away from harms way that more quickly. Which in any fight context is valuable. It all depends upon the utilization within the “ when”
Making blanket statements” head movement doesn’t work in ( insert any art) and thus enabling oneself of not training it, can/ and most likely will be an insurmountable disservice to one’s overall skill tree as a fighter.
If one truly acknowledges all aspects of fighting, not disregarding anything, and settle with the fact that: I should learn striking/ wrestling/ submission grappling/ kicking/ ground game/ strength&conditioning. And from there work in what fits one’s specific attributes the most. “ what uniquely fits you “ as Firas Zahabi states” There are levels to this game”
Truly enjoyed the lessons, and a true honor to be able to observe such highly skilled practitioners and peers in their element, teaching and portraying the importance of the “why”, would really appreciate to be able to hear his take on how to appropriately apply and utilize, and how the practitioners would modify/ complement/ adapt the overall take on head movement training in regards to Muay Thai/ MMA etc, as well perhaps an in depth analysis of why he would choose to slip/ roll/ pull in regards to different settings. As many showcase
“ sublime head movement” but few explain their reasoning behind the choice they make.
“ Nothing more rewarding than getting ones thesis validated by those who exceeds oneself in excellence”
    Sincere and utmost humble regards.
