There's a lot of videos out there showcasing how to use headmovement against people who don't really train. I think in MMA or other fights that utilize kicks, knees elbows, grappling you would need to omit certain head movement tactics from the head movement arsenal but to discard head movement altogether, as most MMA, MT & KB fighters do, sadly, is foolish. The trick I think is in not just omitting deep ducks & dips but in the footwork, adapting and flowing between different styles of stances in the same fight.
@Will Y same. Since my team is too afraid to train together, I been focusing on roadwork and some shadowboxing since my cardio is the one thing I very nervous about. Just be careful about doing too much 😅 I kept running every morning and night time since I have 14 days before I go back to work andddd I sorta rei njured myself a bit 😂
@@LawrenceKenshin you should do a breakdown of lerdsila head movement in general I've seen lerdsila use ducks and slips without getting head kicked and kneed please. There arent a lot of lerdsila breakdown that focuses on his head movement.
Lawrence, much respect and appreciation brother. I love all your content, but the commentary from Gold Ph is especially stellar. Truly hope you expand on this going forward.
Awesome content man! I'm not a real boxing fan, but your other video's rekindled my love for kickboxing. Just set up a punching bag and some other equipment in the backyard and as soon as I get back on my feet financially, I'm back in the dojo. Like I said, I'm not a real big boxing fan but you have a way of breaking things down that makes it interesting for me. Thank you and keep up the awesome content!
This is an excellent tutorial. I'm always thinking about how to apply these techniques to an mma/kickboxing context so more tutorials on that would be perfect

And so I would love to request see some head movement vids on Muay Thai and kickboxing. It has been nearly a year though so I'll check and see if you've made some since. For sure, there's always those people who say that "head movement" never works in MT or kickboxing when you got guy like Israel Adesanya, Saenchai and Samart who prove otherwise. Obviously you can't just bob and weave all the time like in boxing.
I need more evasive Stuff.. But I need it for k1 and mma pls.. More long guards more of how thefootwork should be and how to drill it.. Is it more about training patterns or listen to my own reflexes (they put me sometimes in really bad positions I have problems with the opponents follow ups or when they chasing me down)
Excellent coaching! Question: when dodging and ducking, you imagine before how opponent will attack, and so just duck and dodge the uppercut even if it doesn't come, or is it more like you duck, and them wait to see what's coming and then dodge?
just asking, not an expert or fighter...... but in terms of effective technique wouldn't just taking a back step be more effective/energy efficient if you're not planning on throwing a counter strike? Thanks
If you have no intentions of punching, it can be. but moving straight backwards is dangerous because it sets you up for big shots. Letting someone swing and miss really helps you wear them out. Hitting nothing but air is exhausting and frustrating.
Hello, Peek-a-Boo fighter here, forced to since I'm 5'5: If you're moving your head but you're not moving in, your opponent knows he has free offensive reign. He'll just focus on attacking. This is why I can't do stationary slips like Tyson, I don't have his reflexes, so I have to be constantly changing range, and the way this guy does it it's just gorgeous. The footwork, the not-letting-hits-rattle-you mentality, and always finding a position from where you can counter attack/see your opponent's movements is what I consider most important about this video. If you're planning on going full defensive while stepping back, you better have longer range than your opp, otherwise you're just gonna be eating glove all night.
That was Great headmovement. And i‘m Not a really experienced Fighter, But you didn‘t follow any of those slips With a punch of yourself? Was That because it was only Training? Because the only Reason to Use Head movement instead of just keeping distance is for fast counters. (High Risk high reward)
Husani Sterling I would be weary of the sit down technique, at least going that low, seems to put you in knee and kick range, buts that’s why this was specially for boxing
Yeah all good. Except if it's a real fight you'll get tired eventually from all the dancing and not landing you own. Eventually you'll succumb to the offence.

for me its not a good head movement, most of the slips are way to big, a good head movement utilize the minimal movement that is allowed to not get hit, and most of the analyse is not correct, like the "reset movement" your doing it because its a bad habit of a guy trying to slip without reading anything and not a reset movement or anything.... just have to see the video movement are too wide not a good timing nad reading... canelo has a good head movement witb a good reading
