      I'm a carer for violent kids coming out of juvie. We are trained in de-escalation and rarely have to restrain a kid. The power of knowing how to talk. However, one restraint is called the small child restraint. It's pretty much holding them in such a way to not cause pain... like a big hug where they can't bite your arms or headbutt you. I never tell the kids the name as I don't want to shame them for not having emotional control.
      However, in a pub a small bloke was hitting a woman and then took a swing at my mate when he intervened. I restrained him and said, "This is called the small child restraint. It's generally only used on kids 12 and under." He went wild.
      Of course then his girlfriend kicked me in the head. Domestic violence relationships are weird.

      The Gracie's are the family that basically created what we know as Brazilian jiu-jitsu. So that means this guy got his black belt from some of the hardest MFers out there

    • @DennisTea
      @DennisTea Рік тому +55

      @@Vladpryde There are 4 "degrees" to every rank, except black belt with 6. Each one is a stripe on your belt in a different color than your belt. The number of stripes is based on your skills in different areas. 6th degree black belt is the highest skill belt. There are 4 color ranks before black belt, and each have 4 degrees. There is also a red/coral belt after black belt, but that only requires that you've been an active black belt for around 30-40 years (depends on the school). It's more of a rank of experience or renown than skill. You will usually only see 60 year old men with the red belt. If you break it down entirely into degrees (without counting red belt), there are 22 levels in brazilian jiujitsu, and this man has 19.

    I myself have over 35 years of martial arts training & I only had to use it once when I was 21 years old , the fight was fast & over in less than a minute . When your in a quick fight you really don’t account for what’s going on or any damage you might take or damage you might do to others , it’s like your instinct kicks in , it’s flight or fight . Days later some of my friends that use to hang out with the guy said that I really messed the dude up , they told me I dislocated his wrist & his elbow & shatter some bones in his shoulder & gave him a big black eye , I had no account of ever doing that because the fight was quick , after a few weeks someone told me that his little brother was looking for me , but eventually it never came to that , his whole family moved out of town back to Kentucky & I never seen the guy or his brother again , my best friend wanted to let lose on the guy to , but I guess he had it out for me for some reason . My best friend was trained in Muay Thai & that guy is a beast , he use to kick trees with his bare shins like it was nothing .

      It wasn't a sales pitch, just logical advice of don't wait until something bad happens. It is better to be proactive and have the skills needed to prevent something bad happening, or to help a bad situation not get worse. Simple logic. Only problem is that self defense classes and cost quite a bit. My sisters took Taekwondo for a while, then one got married and now they don't get the family Plan. The owner of the place did the best he can to make it cheap, but he does have to pay the rent etc on the building. While they where taking lessons, one of the girls and a "friend" that was a boy, and I am not sure about the whole story, but if she hadn't been taking lessons he would have assaulted her. He had her on the ground and they only way she got free was a move that they had recently learned. Probably saved her life too! So definitely not a sales pitch, just him trying to care for people.

      Ya that was pretty funny, wannabe bad ass all of a sudden meets a real bad ass & turns into a jellyfish begging to be let go

      @@johndough201 I did Retail security for 6 years and I can honestly say that most people are like this. They act hard to intimidate you but when you flatten their ass and restrain them to the ground they cry like a bitch apologizing profusely asking to be let go.
      What these idiots don't understand is that like this guy we have training and years of experience behind us. We don't back down unless we have to. Some two bit crook scumbag isn't going to scare us off easily. I'm glad he got knocked on his ass but the sad thing is that he'll never learn his lesson, they rarely do. He'll be back.
