My buddy used those special MMR guides and his driverside camshaft snapped twice. Have pics of it - pretty crazy. I would use OEM guides along with a full OEM timing kit.
Like the full camshaft 👀 i have stock but i also bought the heavy duty secondary timing chains with a new MMR tensioner. What do u think i should do
ML running stock with a huge turbo and running low 9’s, I would’ve went all stock, those coyotes be strong from the factory
@@NateRider Hi Nate, I think Four Eyes advice is a good one, I would also use OEM guides along with a full OEM timing kit. Good luck with your build and thanks for posting that video!
Right now I’m on the ford performance timing guides and they’re great!
Bro four eyes you’ve got the best 3v build on YT
Dang I can’t believe you’re so calm I’d be kicking my engine until it’s started running again
Defective timing chain. Careful with rebuilds. Check every component of engine. Keep your head up! Good video!
I appreciate the honesty on your channel and in the content 👍
Dang nate this is tough. I'm glad you're staying strong. One day you will b doing pulls in it, and it will all be worth it💪
we must keep on pushing forward!
A year and a half from now....
Don't want to be an alarmist, but you could have more than just a bent valve there. You'd probably want to take it back and get the engine shop to strip and check it all out. You could have bent rods, cracked cam or crank shafts. Stripped timing gears, or any number of other minor issues. Timing chains on a new engine don't just break like that unless something is very wrong. Unless you bought it from Harbour Freight of course.😢
Good luck brother. It just one of those weird things. Keep pushing

yup...
I've got the broken timing chain still hanging in my garage from this engine in my pic. It was also a stock chain. Went to a Cloyes street double roller and no issues since. I also had bent valves and valve guides. I got a quote to reapir the old head, but I used it as an excuse to upgrade I just bought all new assembled AFR aluminum heads.
Small set back for a major comeback bro 💪🏽😎
hope you get the car back soon nate
Make sure you take a deep look at the tensioner as well before you throw a new chain on!!!
Need more nates garage✅✅✅✅
I could hear it while the engine was cranking that there was a timing/compression problem. Modular ford life bro
Damn dude that sucks, I was looks forward in seeing it on the road.
OEM timing components only! Tensioners, guides, and chains
I ran id1000 injectors in my evo X with full e85 for 3 years straight and never had an issue with dirty injectors. Car would sit for a few weeks sometimes as it wasn’t my daily and still never issues with dirty injectors or start up.
That Valve only bends from contact of piston to valve!
You’re not the only one with this problem. A lot of new cam kits and timing chains have been breaking
Checked injectors? Could have stayed on, hydrolocking the cylinder?
Is that not what happened to your GT500 as well??
WOW, I FEEL FOR YA BUDDY. I HOPE ALL ENDS WELL, AND IT GETS DIALED IN WITH EASE!.
Thank you!
I don’t think this has something to do with oil, but it can be the timing chain tensioner that caused all of this.
Hope she will get back on the road ASAP‼️
(But still take your time and make sure everything is done correctly.😂)
Little setback you’ll come back 🤙🏽
I saw this thumbnail and my soul dropped out of my body 😢 I was screaming noooo through the ads before the video.
Bro know his 💩 👍
Bro post more!!!!!!!!!!! Plea
Andrew Lavender had a killer 4.6 2v and he always warned everyone of MMR
That sucks! I'm looking to do a factory five racing 1935 ford truck with coyote motor and these kinds of videos aren't making me feel confident. Maybe I should go old school carbureted crate motor instead. I think it goes without saying, but change that oil!
🔥🔥🔥
Post vlogs and drifting videos
lets all gather together and hit that chain with our purse for causing all that damage
I’m smp bro best team in the league 😎
My dream car
I hope you can get it fixed
Its getting fixed as we speak
You could hear the miss the entire time!Don’t hire Cheech and Chong to build your rod! That should be a billet chain and ain’t going to snap without cause,
That’s number 3 motor that’s let go dam lot of $$$
Incorrectly installed cam lock outs probably caused it. I would NOT use them.
My timing chain broke and unfortunately it blew my motor , had to get everything mostly repaired/ replaced
same thing happened to my shelby too. Good luck
That’s what happens when you give your car to a back yard auto electrician and he takes your car for a spin! It needed a proper dyno tune!! Running to rich and bent a valve, lesson learnt I hope 🤞
all part of the process i guess 🤷🏻♂
Imagine that them 3 letters killed that coyote lol
Oof
What does "stage 3" mean? Like.... what's the lift and duration? Stage 3 just means you play a lot of video games
Stock chain and guides.
I'm pissed. I've been waiting over a year to see this car drive, and now it's gonna take him another year to put a motor in
Imagine how he feels

Should’ve gotten a Chevy
SO WAS THIS THIS WAYNE BUILTS FAULT ???
See what happens when you put a Chevy on a Ford channel lol. Sorry this happened. I've been waiting for that beast to run 🤯
It might have been the wrong tune
Clean injectors if running E after every oil change my ass. 🤣
😂😂😂
I watch way too much youtube and a lot of it is coyote based content . With that bein said i have only see 2 other instances of secondary chain failure. One was Cletus with a 2014 Gt 500 engine in a crown vic and the other is Alex flores YDBT on his 5.8 Gt 500 and of course you when the primary broke on your shelby. Not sure what causes it but it truly is strange. Does your engine have the tension relocation kit from MMR , there is theory that the tension is on the wrong side of the chain on the left side(driverside) everything engine related is from the drivers perspective.
Both those guys are idiots. Flores is just an absolute narcissist. Never heard someone talk so much shit in my life.
The only one who's worse is "itsjustasix" He blows just about every engine he works on.
Bro I don't know however for me is something the guy that rebuild your motor missed. Or he overtighten , or under , even inferior chain. Very weird.
So you wasted 10k to that fine piece of american egineering`xD
You get what you pay for
Sorry bro can you pin this
bro’s car blew up and you want him to pin your comment 😭😭
thanks bro
You a weird mfer
In the title you claimed your Motor blew. At the end of your video you said it was a bent valve and secondary chain and that if your valve would have dropped it would have blown your motor up. Your motor is clearly repairable and not blown up so why use that fake title?

aye thanks for being early
@@NateRider Anytime, love the cars!
Cars = Things happen. Could be that it sat to long, speculating.
Second
welcome!
I WONDER IF DELETING THE TIVCT CAUSED IT?.
maybe, im not sure
@@NateRider I mean no offense when I say this, but why are you locking out your cams????!!!! That's the worst thing you can do to a coyote unless its a full racecar and is carbureted. What makes the coyote so great and different from the ls/lt motors, is Ti-VCT. PERIOD. You need to switch tuners to Lund racing and do everything they tell you word for word.
For a timing chain to break that quickly and that easily, it was either installed terribly wrong, OR it should tell you a thing or two about MMR. If that happened to me I would throw out anything that has MMR on it.
Just go with RPGs timing components, MMR is shit all there stuff breaks and tears up motors
