If it would come to war, the majority of necros would consist of turned animals instead of humans. Come to think of it, maybe targeting humans specifically isn't even viable for the marker because if the goal is gathering biomass then there's a whole lot more of it in the wild instead of human cities. If you think about, targeting humans on the planet only makes sense in case they can disrupt the marker's progress and turn it off somehow, in future setting that is with all cool technology, but by messing with them it stops them from doing it. On space ships and space stations humans are simply the only biomass available. But in pre-high-tech setting, making humans the main target just in and of itself is largely redundant. The last point is, in the game itself, if i remember right, it was mentioned that a marker "nudged" the evolution in the right direction so that a cool-brain species would appear. So the earth marker might want humans to replicate it a bunch of times first, because maybe just one marker isn't enough to turn the entire planet, after all we don't really know the working radius of a single marker, and if you take Tau Volantis for example those aliens built dozens or hundreds of markers all around their planet because they were energy efficient, and only then did the negative influence kick in. Considering this, the marker might not do anything directly bad for the planet at all in medieval setting, and instead perhaps try to uplift the human civilization, then it would be interesting to think about what kind of civilization would be completely ideal for the marker, if you think about it as long as the civilization has high tech and globalization, it's "sufficient" for it to do it's work, but if given the chance to direct the progress in just the way it prefers, it could influence the world in such way that both a lot more biomass would be prepared and a lot less resistance from it when the time comes. That's why i think it's cool to think about the medieval what ifs, it just so many reasons to work out a whole lot different from what we've seen in games and what was speculated in this video for a modern setting.
First state you say would easily fall happens to be where I live, lovely. Also, the Marker often works slower than that. Without plasma weapons it would be extremely difficult to kill even a single necromorph with personal weapons. Only crew served weapons like high explosives or .50 cal machine guns would be effective. Only hand held gun that could dismember would be something like a semi auto .12 gauge and even that would work only from extremely close range and not reliably. Only way to survive this would for Russia and China to initiate a massive thermonuclear bombardment, literally throwing every single ICMB they have on the marker known location. In game, markers can be destroyed, I guess a few hundred multi megaton nukes would do the trick
i don't think it would take 26 days to take it to area 51, if it would look as alien as it looks in the games it would probably be taken by like helicopters or something bigger, and also the national guard would probably field B-1 Lancers and B-52 Stratofortress for hiveminds with air to surface missiles from 50,000 miles up, and other bigger necromorphs would probably get shot down by like ac 130s

Sorry but even from the first mentioning of Electromagnetic I can only disagree, exept that military would take this into their own hands. EMP Shielding is standard military(atleast in germany as far as i know, even regular helmets) . So if the Gov and propably amateur Ppl would notice these spikes the uncovering would sure take its time, but once lifted out of the gulf, human safety protocols are the first thing to be enacted here as we already know that electromagnetic stuff is bad from example chernobyl and other experiments. So even the sentient marker could not spread its signal long and far enough encased in special shielding(supra-semiconductor reverbers 50mx50mx50m cost only about 300K€). and for the first ones to get in the unhinged contact with the marker they would be in area 51 special hospitals later on for their "treatment" or rather 24/7 surveillance to study and test. safety and special procedures and bureaucratic stuff is the humans first and single most effective line of defense here. scientists and test staff going rampant? civil law protectments and unfit for duty protocols are faster spoken than these few can do any harm. to all the people that would have been affected until the shielding would have been placed around the marker (guessing around 4 hours, not moving the marker unter the shielding, moving the shielding over the marker, which is way faster)they could have been a few thousand or only a houndres or even just those close to the marker, as its not known if the marker knows the range and size of the planet aka earth. so the first effect would be nothing than a few mental ill people, which of course will be "treated" in area 51. and as soon as its discovered that the effects turn biomatter hostile. the reaction would be immediate termination if only the slightest sight of danger towards general humans, speaking of gerneral safety measures to sensure human survival protocols when handling with hazardous materials(classified via em signals of the marker, again from germany) . when returning to the games isaac is affected through his suit and so on yes, but he is also shocked in the chapter with the aa cannons in dead space 1 from the asteroid crash if you dont use stasis, making clear his suits are not safe for electromagnetism aka not shielded. in dead space 2 (as far as i know) the big marker is not shielded for em capacities making the outbreak possible and isaac constantly taking his helmet off making the em gaining further influence. Stross lost his mind when he touched a shard of the marker in this one novel . so after one touch of any team member gathering the marker on earth the rest of the team would know not to touch it.
Aw, yes. The "what if this happened in real life" question. All I will say is this: humanity in Dead Space is extremely advance; more advanced than most human civilizations depicted sci-fi games and even they couldn't do anything against the Necromoph outbreak.
Whole bunch of Nope on the Nope Train to F-that’s-ville in Hell-no County of Screw-that-landia
I would literally self immolate
First state you say would easily fall happens to be where I live, lovely.
Also, the Marker often works slower than that. It wants species to study it and want to replicate it as a power source so that Red Markers would cover the world. Only then will the true horror be unleashed and we will be made whole
you forgot about atomic weaponry. the first-line solution for this would probably be to send every nuclear weapon at the united states as the marker is being thrusted back into space, killing lik everything and everyone in america, but removing the marker from earth and ceasing the outbreak.
Humanity would have an astounding 0% chance of surviving a Necromorph outbreak with our current technology level and with governments not globaly cooperating like EarthGov in the Dead Space games, and that would be without considering some fanatics worshiping the marker or the necromorphs themselves like Unitology do
What if the marker and Steven Segal was on the same planet at the same time ?. Even just a quick little bit before a serious video.
if we found a black marker in the real world... thats it, game over lol
Ah man! It's game over man, it's game over! *Throws Controller away*
Call in the SCP foundation, contain this in a custom faraday cage, staying outside a big-ass exclusion zone.
Object class: Apollyon
Most probably its gonna be like the devourer of worlds 'scp 2317' ready to unleash itself one day, similar to the scp 001 sun
Mighty bold of you to assume America wouldn't employ the Airforce upon the initial outbreak.
Pffft. I’m shooting limbs, I’m making flame throwers! I’m going crazy!
What is the range of the Markers influence?
Area 51 is rather large and isolated. So once it is there wouldnt civilian places be safe?
Wouldnt we need to reproduce the markers to spread its influance like the Tau Voulantis Aliens?
Then people in the 1000s will come running to Area 51 in droves, Naruto style.
You gotta count in all the cities and other populated areas the maker has to pass through to get too area 51.
Likely city to maybe even country worth distance going by dead space 2 going by how it affected sprawl a ship that basically a residential area built on a destroyed moon housing 1,000,000 people which the ship design to be spread out from top from bottom, Could be higher or maybe grows in length when starts to had more and hive minds start being made we know brethren moon can communicate and cause hallucinations to issac in dead space 3 from unknown light years away
Its not that isolated
@@japoosy8503 The number of which would be absolutely zero. The idea that the military wouldn't stick this thing on a C-5 Galaxy instead of trying to truck it though a half dozen states and two counties, one of which (Mexico) has virtually no reliable internal security, is the biggest, most absurd flaw in this entire scenario.
Considering how we handled Covid-19, I doubt we are close to being ready on handling an IRL Black Marker/Necromorph Outbreak.
* me looking at all the obelisks surrounding important places i.e Washington monument, the Vatican , and every other important place in every country *
Short answer: We’d be fucked, but you really can’t make a video that short
Bruh the Internet is just missing a Convergence Event and we have a real life Marker
So basically it'd be Dead Space but we don't get the cool scifi stuff that the DS universe has :(
Umm would nukes not be used against the markers for some reason?
Then it’s time to break out the plasma cutters…
What if Dead space was part of the Mass effect universe
Well what about government uses nuke againts necromorph?
If that happened, we would be in trouble, on the plus side, we wouldnt have to bother with war, since we would all be made whole LITERALLY.
Imagine Marker shaped 5G towers..
Well it wouldn't be good, witnessed how the people the Dead Space easily lose their minds and how people similarly people act in the real world, that would already spell doon if not most of the planet and even with already colonized planets.
I like this Dead Space videos in 2021
I suspect the spiritual forces here on earth would be involved in this in some way shape or form during all of this.
Did you just Bring in Divine beings to combat the Marker and Necromorphs? I love your thinking
What if the divine/spiritual forced are the activities of the marker in disguise. It is said that it was the black marker which directed the evolution of human and our ape ancestors.if we find it today, we are already beyond the point of no return. For something which directed the evolution of intelligent species for millions of years on earth, how long does it take for it to induce mass psychosis and necromorph outbreak?
We'd all die. Humanity would be wiped out.
An interesting topic I'd like to see is Cybetronians Vs The markers
I’d nope the hell out and try to get into space.
I think found out something in dead space 1 only Isaac survives in dead space 2 Ellie and Isaac survive and in dead space 3 Isaac carver and Ellie survive so it goes like this 1 person survives 2 people survive and then 3 people survive
An alien device in the gulf of Mexico I can buy that scenario
Launch it into space and then get out of dodge
how about what if racoon city tragedy happens in real life
What if... peanut butter grunt monsters, with their guinea pig overlords, tried to take over the world, via the use of unsuspecting carrots, jelly, and of course, pb?
Their end goal? Transform all life into hamsters, chinchillas, gerbils, ferrets, and obviously, guinea pigs?
Without plasma weapons it would be extremely difficult to kill even a single necromorph with personal weapons. Only crew served weapons like high explosives or .50 cal machine guns would be effective. Only hand held gun that could dismember would be something like a semi auto .12 gauge and even that would work only from extremely close range and not reliably. Only way to survive this would for Russia and China to initiate a massive thermonuclear bombardment, literally throwing every single ICMB they have on the marker known location. In game, markers can be destroyed, I guess a few hundred multi megaton nukes would do the trick
All I'm gonna say is the A-10 is a hell of a thing lol BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Good video comrade.
No match for a hillbilly with a chainsaw
what if dead space 4 happened?😔
Talk about What You Think Would happen if tau volantis aliens comes to earth or we to them?
i don't think it would take 26 days to take it to area 51, if it would look as alien as it looks in the games it would probably be taken by like helicopters or something bigger, and also the national guard would probably field B-1 Lancers and B-52 Stratofortress for hiveminds with air to surface missiles from 50,000 miles up, and other bigger necromorphs would probably get shot down by like ac 130s
What I fail to understand is what the point of the markers and convergence is. Destroying all life and then what... clearly it's just a story trope - "the end of the world-trope".
To be fair, it is intentionally left ambiguous. The unitologists are crazy for embracing such a fate, but they could be right about something. The convergence could result in a rebirth as a new species, but we probably wouldn't want such an outcome regardless.
@@Noxis07 Of course it's crazy, that's the whole point. But for comparison just look at what christians and muslims believes - it's crazy!
we humans always look forward to the next good thing; so even when we you die you hope it gets better; just just plain silliness. Hope is good, of course. But we need to keep ourself under restraint, otherwise, people start killing each other in the name of religion... oh, wait...
The creation of brethren moon which their goal is simply make more and it practically love craft in nature that we don’t understand or comprehend them fully.
@@spinozilla2421lovecraftian horror
It's mentioned to be a possible solution to the Fermi paradox to explain why we have not seen aliens yet. And since in dead space we advanced enough to be space faring so we believed there would be other intelligent life out there somewhere. Think of berthen moons being farmers who cultivate being to become more intelligent so they can make more of themselves using the markers or harvest us for food.
Assuming it exists. The scientists unleashes the Gray Goo upon the converging World. It won't save humanity, but it's a great big 🖕 to the necromorphs.
Well..that’s depressing.
I gess area 51 will fall and the government would try to nuke the site to destroy the marker.
I thought America will start nuking the areas where the monsters are
Last resort but I do agree
What if the Ishimura was destroyed?
The ishimura was destroyed.
@@TheBritishRunner Before Deadspace 2?
At the end of dead space 2
@@TheBritishRunner right but what would have happened IF the Ishimura was destroyed immediatly after Dead Space 1? instead of salvaged/returned to Earthgov
If the black marker exist in real world it might end of humanity before going to space its complete chaos not only human turning into necromorphs, animals also like dogs and cats so disturbing if cat turned into necromorphs its hard to kill it plus so agile than the dogs 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thank you 😊
i dont think the putbreak would just be in the states because mexico would be first line and people traveling plus the flying thing cant fly long distance who know how far the signal from the marker could reach more people usa would be ground zero but in the next days or weeks the world
*Dead Space: Martyr vibes*
Yeah... we would all die.
Also, what if Nicole Brennan lived, and hadn't ended her own life on the USG Ishimura? I know anyone in her situation would have committed suicide, but what if she didn't? ;(
Hmmm could be a interesting idea for the future
@@TheBritishRunner Thank you! Also thanks for all your great videos (your timeline ones were amazing. Well done). 👏👏👏
The markers do not produce energy, they transmit it from somewhere in deep space.
Aka imo an alien species who created the markers are so advanced they can afford to power an entire other civilization off their own power systems and use this to advance them before at their peak unleashing the necromorphs so later on they can come through the ashes and add the unique tech made by the species to their own worlds
Meh
What if we found the marker in the real world? I would hope we would say,
🤬 no!

I got a scenario what if human form replicators from Stargate Atlantis versus Brethren moons the human form replicators where have access to all that technology the Brethren moons will have access to everything that they have also let's see who would win
Fallout Vegas meets Dead Space.
I'm starting to think that convergence would be preferable to all this bullshit.
You would rather prefer insanity, mass murders, suicides, and horrific Lovecraftian monsters than ordinary people who are assholes? Wow, no wonder humanity is so messed up if people would rather have unholy extinction-level horrors like the Markers and Necromorphs than deal with regular assholes.
@@goofnutgav Insanity, mass murders, suicide.. you must not watch much of the news. We've already got all that stuff going on, arguably on the same scale described in the Dead Space animated movies/shorts.

Stross lost his mind when he touched a shard of the marker in this one novel . so after one touch of any team member gathering the marker on earth the rest of the team would know not to touch it.
its simple dingus . Just play the game and then you know how to fight the flood.
we would die
I enjoyed dead space 3 too but #1&2 were better in my opinion
Aw, yes. The "what if this happened in real life" question. All I will say is this: humanity in Dead Space is extremely advance; more advanced than most human civilizations depicted sci-fi games and even they couldn't do anything against the Necromoph outbreak.
So what is in the world could people of the modern day going to do? Blame it on climate change?
Actually, that's likely happen. Good thing that Red Necks still exist.
Nukes would work as a last resort.
Two words: Hell Nah!
Well, Fauci would be dead by then, so I think we might have a chance.
i'd be dead lmao
